  1. I, hesitantly, voted for Kenny. Hesitantly, purely because he's been out out management for so long, but still voted from him because he, for me, embodies everything this club should stand for, and would, surely, instantly gain the respect of the players. We might not have a title-winning squad, but it's certainly better than our form and league position would suggest, and I think that, as a caretaker appointment (especially bearing in mind we'll be fucked for cash), he'd do as much as anyone realistically available to shake the squad out of its lethargy, and do a better job than anyone in restoring some stability, normality, and pride to the club.
  2. I don't think many supporters have a great deal of time for them either, but there's no doubt in my mind that Rafa loves the politiking and playing people off against each other too much in order to defend/take the spotlight from his own position; it's evident in many of his press conferences, and suggested in many press articles quoting 'club sources'. What's to say that, if we do get rid off the owners (which I hope we do) that he'll have a better relationship with the new one(s)? I doubt very much that would be the case, given his history, both here and at Valencia. The moment he dosen't get exactly what he wants, or we have another run of poor form, I fully expect him to be back to his old ways, using various outlets as a platform to air his grievances. I don't solely blame Rafa for the situation we're in, but I don't think he helps matters either. The club's become tarnished recently with all the political infighting, and needs a new broom - and that, for me, means getting shot of Rafa too.
  3. I can't speak for the other poster, but I'd have done my best to make sure that we had adequate cover for when Torres inevitably gets injured. As it is, we've got one injury-prone world class striker, and some others who'd do well to make Sunderlands first 11. I was behind Rafa come the end of last season but, despite him acknowledging how dependent we were on him to get goals, and obviously aware of his injury record and lack of cover, he spunks 18m on a defender and 20m on another sicknote midfielder. That, and his reversion to negative tactics after the great winning football we played towards the end of last season, is why I want him gone.
  4. If Torres had of started we would've put 2 or 3 past them. That's not to excuse Rafa though; we shouldn't be relying on one player to win us games. And to think Torres left Atletico because he was fed up of carrying the team...
  5. Did I hear that right - SSN now saying Nando's on the bench? Good if true. Edit: bollox, I heard wrong.
  6. Considering Birmingham's best chances will likely come from long balls in and set pieces, I'm fine with the Greek at CB. Would like to have seen Agger at LB though, and Masch instead of Lucas. Pleased Aquilani's on the bench though. Surprised as well.
  7. Craft, not graft, is the way to go today. Also, I'd go with sticking Kyrgiakos alongside Carra, with Agger at LB. We'll probably have that back 4 on thursday (good practice), Kryi should cope well with the crosses and long hoofs they'll be pumping in, and it's not as if Insua's irreplacable, is it. I'd have Benny on the left too, as he'll offer slightly more protection down that wing than Babel IMO (also practice for thursday). Perhaps give Kuyt a rest and stick Babel up with Torres. ..............Reina Johnson Zorba Carra Agger Maxi Gerrard Masch Benny ........Babel Torres
  8. He'll be available come the end of the season...
  9. Yep. http://premiermemorabilia.co.uk/images/120.jpg Can someone tell me how to put the images up? I've clicked the 'insert image' tab, then pasted the url, but no luck.

  12. Man City for me. I think we'll do well to get fifth, sadly. City taking it would also be the worst case scenario for us too IMO.
  13. I've just checked on the internet, and it turns out that Paul Tomkins and Comical Ali have never been seen in the same room together.
  14. Ithink there's a difference between a chairman of one club talking about the owners and atmosphere of another club, and a manager of one club talking about the playing style of another club. If Rafa had been talking about the ownership situation at Blackburn, then that would be hypocrisy. Besides, I don't see what else Rafa could've said really. He was obviously asked about Whelan's comments, and telling the reporter that he agrees that the Yanks (his employers, the people who gave him a five year contract last summer) are destroying the club wasn't really on the cards was it.
  15. As I understand it, the deposit is £500, which is given back if the candidate receives more than 5% of the total vote in the constituency. Not sure when the deadline to apply is though. I think it's a great idea.
  16. I believe you. You were feted on here for those posts, and I can't see any reason why you wouldn't take the credit if it was you. By the same token, I doubt if this supposed troll who's using your name to put you in a bad light on FB would post that Chelsea stuff, whch was always going to be seen positively on here.
  17. Agent Starling had Momo sussed years back. Personally, I never knew Momo, so I can't really comment on what others are saying about him, although his reputation obviously precedes him. I'm just gutted to hear that he never put that cunt to rights on the Chelsea forum. That was some good work going on there.
  18. The only people I hate more than the Mancs are the fucking Reclaim The Kop. Splitters.
  19. That'll teach you to take your mobile out of your arse, Ashley.
  20. His presence on the bench serves to remind the starters of the fate that awaits them if they too take their eye off the ball...
  21. Hi, I read the first few pages of this thread the other day, and have just come back to it, so apologies if this has already been discussed, but, what exactly was agreed regarding the release of the minutes prior to the meeting? Was Purslow made aware (before the meeting) that SOS could publish thier own minutes, or was it agreed that no minutes would be published without an agreement between SOS and Purslow as to what should be published?
  22. I thought his latest 'facts' list was a great bit of self-deprecating comedy, and I really couldn't give a fuck what the media or rival fans make of it. The day my opinion on something is decided by what some Manc fan or apologist thinks is the day I start supporting Man U. In any case, they're hardly going easy on him right now are they.
