    Bent's a better goal poacher than Carlton Cole, but cole is more of a nuisance to defenses in that he puts himself about a bit more. Under normal circumstances neither are Liverpool class, but given our current situation something is better than nothing. Van der Vart has always been a decent player and I would welcome him, but as mentioned we need a backup striker.

    David Haye will be giving away 7st to Nikolay Valuev when they meet for the Russian's WBA heavyweight crown in Nuremberg on Saturday. Haye scaled a career-high 15st 8lb at Friday's weigh-in, while Valuev, 36, was lighter than expected at 22st 8lb. Haye, 29, is hoping to become Britain's first world heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis retired in 2003. "This fight doesn't need hype. It's 'how will this little British fella beat this Russian giant?'," Haye said.
