  1. Yep, this budget means higher inflation for longer, so they have no choice but to jack up rates further to compensate, 1% being the number mentioned at least. It’s going to be a rough winter.
  2. Imagine they’ll try and pin any serious down turn on the Bank of England. Everything announced today completely undermines everything the BOE have done so far and will only serve to drive interest rates up further to counteract it. What a fucking mess this might look like in a years time. A ridiculous gamble devoid of any thought and intelligence which is par for the course with this lot. Worrying times ahead.
  3. Yep, same with Hillsborough as well people trotting out all sorts of shite. It’s worse now than it’s ever been it’s like the inquests never happened. Honestly don’t know how it ends at this point, it’s a huge turn off. Politics aside, football is the absolute worst of social media it’s horrendous.
  4. England bowled really well, but how are South Africa top of the world test championship with this batting line up. Standard of batting in tests is appalling.
  5. Do have a bit of a soft spot for Event Horizon but it has dated a fair bit from when I watched it as a kid. The CGI is proper naff and it’s a bit more campy than I remember (mainly the final third). Having said it it’s still a great idea that’s done pretty well overall. Some of the set design is still great (the event horizon core in the ship still looks brilliant). Sunshine was decent until that final act which I found utterly shite and bizarre.
  6. If everyone stays fit (I know) I think we’ll be OK, but otherwise yeah it’s going to be a real grind.
  7. Outside of Man U we are probably the most important club in the league. Yet not sure I’ve ever read anyone suggest that we get most decisions our way generally, the match threads are a cesspool most of the time.
  8. The problem with the corruption angle is that it’s consumed by tribalism. It’s always in favour of teams you don’t like and your own team is always the victim of it. Makes it hard to take seriously.
  9. Villa fast becoming the new Everton, how much money have they blown just to seemingly get worse.
  10. Who’s buying Keita though at this stage? Be lucky to get £20m.
  11. Bit unfair to be having a go at Mo imo he’s been hung out to dry with this midfield. Not much you can do from the spots he’s picking the ball up in.
  12. Imagine asking a top level manager if he subbed someone because of an error trying to play the ball out in one moment, Tuchal should have slapped Shreeves there and then.
  13. It does seem like he is in way over his head. Not that makes him a bad manager necessarily. The task on his hand is Herculean. It’s not just the shit inside the club it’s the baggage outside with the spectre of Fergie and the class of 92 sniping your every fucking move, begging to put the boot in, Half of those cunts have made a career out of it in punditry. They really should have punted on Conte, it might have went tits up but that is the type of huge personality they need to turn this all around. I’m not 100% confident with where we are at atm, but there still no reason we should not spank these 4 or 5 nil. If we are truly on it I would honestly be looking at double figures, the aftermath is irrelevant, they got spanked by fucking Watford yet we’re still at this point. I have no idea how they get out of this and it’s fucking great.
  14. Racially charged jokes about Sunek, said blacks and women ruined government and got his cock out for the grand finale is the rap sheet. Never heard of this guy before today is that par for the course with his act? No one walked out by the sounds of it, all comes with a heavy dose of context I guess.
  15. Im not sure there's any 'main' reason to be honest. Seems more a cocktail of shit events mixed together at bad time. Inflation was ticking up pretty significantly even before the war started, which has now exasperated it completely. Not sure what you mean by the second part in terms of the alternative, I couldn't care less who its peddled by, I'm not going to dismiss something out of hand just because its coming people I typically wouldn't agree with or dislike. The £ has been going down against the $ since the financial crisis in 08 though. Brexit certainly hasn't helped it but suggests something more fundamental is an issue, I'm not an economist though so not sure what that would be exactly.
  16. Give or take yeah, Brexit would be way down on the list of reasons for the situation we are in. * War in Ukraine * The money printing during lockdown * Having to raise rates to keep up with the federal reserve who by raising rates are devaluing the pound, increasing inflation These are three of the main drivers for me and I don't see how Brexit has anything to do with them. It may have had some minor impact but thats hard to quantify with any certainty, and just seems to be peddling a narrative to cater for a certain audience to me.
  17. Are we actually pinning this on Brexit, really?
  18. Jones is a demigod in his own mind. Absolutely deranged.
  19. I don’t mind Rory but glad he didn’t win. Not sure do could tolerate the mawkish shit from the media if the ‘integrity of golf’ got the win. Looks like Smith is leading the next batch off to LIV, along with Fleetwood, Matsuyama and Stenson. I’m surprised Stenson took the Ryder cup captaincy as he was rumoured to be going LIV from the start. All good though, sure the PGA will just continue to stick their head in the sand, they’ve done such a great job of handling this so far, and people will cope online about how these players aren’t relevant so no real loss.
  20. Going to win this comfortably, these travelling sides don’t seem to have an answer to our batsman on these flat tracks and a ball unfit for purpose. Doesn’t matter how good the bowlers are. South Africa have a good attack but they will get hammered here as well. Can’t see beyond a clean sweep. It’s fun at the moment given that we’ve had to put up with collapses year after year, but not sure how I’ll feel if this carries on into next year and beyond with such an imbalance between bat and ball. Maybe I’m just being miserable.
  21. Not worth touching any of this until the macro situation improves and Saylor gets wiped out, which looks like it’s inevitable. Didn’t expect $1K ETH to come this early, get the sense there’s more to drop. Looking at $600 ish area now and see how things look.
  22. The pitches are flatter for sure but it needed to happen. Can’t have dobblers like Darren Stevens bagging wickets every week anymore it doesn’t help anyone. What seems to have compounded it is the balls are shite and go out of shape way too quickly. Maybe if they sort that it’ll be a bit better. Think it’s a step in the right direction for now though. Ultimately both teams got a go on these tracks and its the England batsman who’ve dominated, so think there’s still reasons to be positive. Probably won’t get away with playing like it overseas, but would just take winning at home again at this point for now.
  23. Pretty remarkable turnaround from this team in the space of 3 tests, especially considering it’s largely the same players that have failed in the past. Wasn’t 100% in on Stokes as captain but the partnership with Mccullum looks great. Not sure you could ask for much more at this stage. Would back these players in these conditions to go and win against India and South Africa given what we’ve seen. Made some quality bowlers look very average for large parts of this series.
  24. Koepka and Ancer jumping ship and looking like euro tour will allow them to play as well. PGA tour don't look like they have much of a leg to stand on at this stage.
