  1. Chelsea looked pretty good going forward initially when he joined, but you'd expect that given the attacking talent they had. Defensively, they were shambolic. Underperformed with Derby as well, given the money they spent. Be interesting to see the approach he takes with Everton. The "relegation" approach hopefully.
  2. This feller seems to think it's a done deal. He claims to be ITK on Portuguese transfer stuff and was talking up Diaz to us back at the start of Jan.
  3. If there was any doubt about how suggestible people in this country can be, just look at the amount of stuff being thrown onto the pitch in yesterday's football league games following the publicity of our neighbour's shenanigans last week. Fucking morons.
  4. Perhaps they're gauging the level of online outrage from their supporters. The club seemed keen on the previous feller until our lovable friends from across the park started frothing at the mouth about it.
  5. The kit thing I can understand, as they sold the 2nd most in Europe (though I haven't seen the figures to see whether Adidas would make more from the deal than they've paid in). I really can't see how anyone could justify €400m a year just to hold an event every now and then at a stadium.
  6. Yeah, that's the one, my mistake. The yellow one is nice as well, but the trim puts me off.
  7. Bought my lad the 3rd kit with the green collars. Looks really nice tbf. Hope they release some of the concept stuff I've seen online - I don't usually buy kits for myself, but would consider some of that.
  8. I'd like to think that Starmer's policy is to keep Labour's collective head down, and just not be as shit as the Tories up to the next election. Offer something bland and non-threatening so the moderate voters plump for Labour as a safe pair of hands, then implement a more progressive centre left manifesto once elected. I won't hold my breath though.
  9. There have been plenty of recessions under both Labour and Conservative governments, but it's only Labour whose policies get blamed for causing them. The Tories will always cite factors beyond their control. And where are they allowed to spout this shite endlessly? In a weak or compliant press, who neither have the will or inclination to ever challenge them. I'd rather tax and spend under Labour, than borrow and spend (and leave the bill for a future Labour government to claw back) under the Tories. https://www.taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/2021/06/24/the-tories-have-always-borrowed-more-than-labour-and-always-repaid-less-they-are-the-party-of-big-deficit-spending/
  10. Helen Mirren giving a creepy line of questioning the disdain it deserved:
  11. Clive Anderson vs the Bee Gees: His face at the end when he realises that they're actually walking off.
  12. If Labour do get in, they need to draft a legally enforceable constitution and set of standards for parliament. I think most of it is run on unwritten assumptions of how a gentleman should behave. Weren't the Tories found in contempt of parliament a couple of years back? Fuck all happened (or was said) about that, but I'm not sure what actually could have been done, legally.
  13. By initiated contact, I mean he changed direction, moving away from the path of the ball and towards the keeper. Anyway, doesn't matter what I think, it was given and we won.
  14. We did get lucky with the penalty - Jota looks like he initiated contact - but the amount of piss we boil when we benefit from a soft decision is hilarious. Compare that to how not arsed people are when we're on the wrong end of refereeing decisions, which in recent years have been numerous. So, as someone once said, fuck everyone who isn't us.
  15. People in this country are outraged at what they're told to be outraged about. His previous indiscretions weren't talked about much (millions wasted on a garden bridge that was never built anyone?) or glossed over (the gushing coverage that the birth of his latest child got for instance). It's only now, with sustained attacks in the media, that their lazy arse brains are forming an opinion. Such is the Stockholm syndrome in some of them though, that there are still those who are willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
  16. There's a sordid little grief hole near me that purports to be 'an erotic venue'. Like fuck would we go there though.
  17. As someone has said, what makes this sweeter is Arsenal's shenanigans at the weekend, getting the Spurs game off and naming a full strength team tonight. They really wanted this and we still beat them. Fucking hilarious.
