  7. Jurgen Klopp isn't finished at Liverpool - but Bayern Munich 'would be a good fit' The Liverpool boss' agent has been speaking in the German media Jurgen Klopp and Bayern Munich 'would fit', according to the Liverpool manager's agent – but insists his work at Anfield is not yet finished and expects him to see out his contract with the club. The German coach has been with the Reds since October 2015, with his contract running up until 2022. He has helped establish Liverpool back on the European stage, leading them to their first Champions League quarter-final in nine years, and also strengthening their status as one of the likeliest title challengers in the Premier League. Reports in Germany have credited Bayern Munich with an interest in Klopp, with the Bundesliga leaders in search of a new manager ahead of next season. After sacking Carlo Ancelotti in September, veteran coach Jupp Heynckes took charge for the remainder of the campaign. Thomas Tuchel – who succeeded Klopp at Borussia Dortmund – and Hoffenheim coach Julian Nagelsmann are considered candidates to take over in Munich, but Klopp's name has also been suggested. The Liverpool boss is happy on Merseyside and his agent, Mark Kosicke, reaffirmed how the 50-year-old still has four years remaining on his current deal. Yet he also admitted Bayern would be an attractive proposition for his client, and he has been courted in the past, although that does not guarantee he would work at the Allianz Arena. "No coach in the world is bigger than any club,” he told German television channel Sport1.“Generally, the club is always bigger. Jurgen isn't too big for Bayern Munich and Bayern Munich isn't too big for him. He definitely could do a very good job there. “Bayern and Klopp would be a good fit, but it isn't something that is an option at the moment. “Coaching one of the big clubs in Europe isn't something that is unattractive, but everything has to suit. “Yes, Bayern are looking for a coach in the summer, but Jurgen has a long contract. At the moment, Jurgen isn't thinking about coaching another club than the Reds.” When asked whether Klopp would see out his deal until 2022, he added: “I assume so.” Klopp struck up a natural rivalry with Bayern during his time with Dortmund, twice beating the German giants to the title. He has previously said he had ruled himself out of ever managing Bayern – pointing to a post-match interview where he laughed following former club Mainz's victory over the German giants – but Kosicke admits moving there was 'often an option' in the past. However, that does not mean Klopp would seek a move, he says, even if English football's winter break takes its toll. “I have to say that Bayern was often an option because Jurgen knows (Bayern president) Uli Hoeness very well,” Kosicke added. “But it was never the right time and nothing definite came of it. "Back then Franz Beckenbauer was president and the pair worked together as TV experts during the 2006 World Cup. They get on well and are still in contact. “But Jurgen can definitely end his coaching career without having coached Bayern Munich. “He has a contract until 2022. And I believe he isn't finished (at Liverpool) yet. But there are always several factors involved. “What should not be underestimated when changing to England is this non-existent winter break. This shortens the lifetime. “In the time in which the German coach or the German player celebrates Christmas, flies to the sunshine, comes back, starts working again, flies back to the sunshine to the training camp. “That's about four weeks and in this time you have 13 games in England and no Christmas Eve. Christmas is in the hotel, Boxing Day (is a) cool culture, but 13 games at three degrees, wind and drizzle, no break. As I said. Life is dynamic.” https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jurgen-klopp-isnt-finished-liverpool-14465134

  9. RB Leipzig's Naby Keita fined €250k for using false driving license LEIPZIG, Germany -- Liverpool-bound Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita has to pay a fine of €250,000 on appeal for submitting false driving licenses to authorities. News agency DPA says that the president of the Leipzig court confirmed that it had set 50 daily sentences of €5,000 each for the player. The fine was aligned to Keita's income, reportedly around €2 million. Keita was accused of producing forged documents from his home country of Guinea in December 2016 and again six weeks later. The state criminal office in Saxony said they were total counterfeits. Keita was originally fined €415,000 for the offences in February, but his lawyer appealed for a lower fine. Keita is moving to Premier League side Liverpool at the end of the season.
