Problem is Steve hasn't got the legs to press anymore, which is why he was moved into the holding role as that doesn't require any pressing. The problem we have now is as great a player as he was and to a certain degree still is, he has always had defensive flaws. We also do not have anyone who could displace him in the team yet. A Gerrard running at 60%capacity and getting slower every year is still better than any of our other midfielders. This should have been the season where we signed a defensive midfielder to displace Steve so we could use him far more sporadically. I do wonder if Rodgers is pinning his hopes on someone coming through the youth team like Jordan Rossiter.

We have lost the intensity in our play, for the first hour we look so pedestrian, it reminds me an awful lot of Rafa's last season, last year from the off we put most teams to the sword by 25 mins, this year we look like we are still in the tunnel warming up at that point.
