  1. Yeah - it was a real plane design (80% scale). I drew it with an engineer friend, based on his replica Spitfire. We used to sell the technology for others to build. I should clean it up / finish it and get it 3D printed.
  2. 1:24 is a big scale. interesting that the kit includes so much of the wing and fuselage structure. wonder how the skin/covering works ? reminds me of my own spitfire model....
  3. Great thread. I'll join in when I get a bit of time to breath. Very busy now. Here is my War in the Pacific man cave (P-38,Dauntless, Wildcat and Zero), and my future retirement projects (1:200 Bismarck and Yorktown).
  4. Shit - I missed it. Busy digging a hole in the frozen ground outside of the house because of a leak in the water line.
  5. Moussaka tonight for NYE. You'll all be drunk or sleeping by the time we are eating, so will post pics for tomorrow. I'm 1 out of 2 on the moussaka recipe. Bechamel was my undoing the last time. Got overconfident and I just couldn't make it thicken up. I have a great pork belly recipe with butter beans (had it last week), but LF doesn't need any help.
  6. Garden vegetable terrine, for CD
  7. "I can assure you, my intentions are strictly honourable" Didn't even need the sound.
  8. I posted something similar to that earlier in the year (back one page). I think this is better... https://www.vizart.io/what-we-do/3d-cartography/
  9. That might be the part that will haunt me forever.
  10. Lots of dream related threads on the forum. Wanted to share a nightmare of mine from last night. I have my share of vivid dreams, and I'm usually pretty good for remembering details when I wake up, but this one was a bit too crazy and real. I was back in my early 20's and with my girlfriend at the time. She was a stunner. Bat shit crazy though. Violent, jealous, self-harming kind of crazy. Jumping out of moving cars insane. Gymnast body though. You take the good with the bad. Her name was Micheline. Haven't thought about her in years. It seems she was an flight attendant in my dream (she did want to be one), and our entire family were on a trip to Hawaii (no idea why - probably a Christmas thing). I recall that she was definitely working for Alaska Airlines, as they are based in Seattle, and that's where we were flying from in the dream. Anyways, she was going to meet us in Hawaii, as she had to work a flight there. In the meantime, I met another girl in Seattle and fell instantly in love. This girl was the complete opposite of Micheline. Blonde (or maybe redhead), quiet, calm, low maintenance, purrfect. I decided I would take her on the trip, and dump Micheline when I got to Hawaii. I knew there would be violence and pain involved, but I could contain/avoid most of the damage hiding out with my new girl somewhere on the island. We got to the airport and were boarding the flight. It was going to be magical. I couldn't have been happier. As you enter the plane, there is always a hostess to greet you, and of course it was Micheline. She was going to surprise me by working our flight. She looked over at my new girl and asked, "who's she" ? That's when I woke up in a sweat. Snapped me right up in bed, and scared both the cats off me.
  11. Maybe Barcelona are expecting to have some cash to spend after they offload Coutinho to Newcastle ?
  12. More pics of Furnando and Isabel - curled up together during the recent rain and snow storms.
  13. 'Not so busy' Izzy. Two years in Canada now.
  14. Very cool. Do you have any drawings of what it will look like, Carradona ?
  15. Si, I paid for the 3D model, and I pay every day for marrying my wife.
  16. That's a good one. When I bought that 3D model, I probably had it in my mind that it looked like my wife (20 years ago).
  17. Latest design with gabled roof, which I'm surprised how much I prefer to flat now. Obviously more practical....
  18. Overdue for an update on our off-grid property. A lot has happened this year, but in the end not much actual progress was made. Only made it out to Ontario twice this summer, and spent most of that time meeting with contractors and other consultants. We could not even find a builder with the time to build in 2022, so we signed up with one (and a deposit) for 2023. Disappointing for sure, but at least we're in line now. We did get the road work done before winter, making sure there is proper access to the build site. I am also working on a garage design (see attached) that we can build next year. We'll use it for storage (and possibly a place to sleep) during construction. We're also hoping to put in the water system, but I'm getting conflicting suggestions whether we should pump from the lake below (200ft) or drill a well. Both have their pros and cons. Aside from the pandemic, the biggest obstacle this year has been my friend who owns the lodge next door. He was getting frustrated with his staff, and in a bit of Trump-inspired petulance, decided to sell his property. This means we lost our ability to visit and stay at his lodge during construction. Not the end of the world long term, but I wish we had started building before he up and sold. I have two working designs of the cottage. One I've kind of already posted, but it has a more practical gable roof now, rather than flat. The other I hope to have done before January, so the wife can decide (she doesn't really decide - I just push her towards the right answer). Preliminary garage design Entry to property (0.5km up to top of hill) Top of ridge looks like the aftermath of the battle for Vimy Ridge
