  1. I got one too, telephoned the club and was told 'admin error' as they didn't change the details etc. They have started taking payments.
  2. Dont post often but my opinion if it means anything. 2 nil up away from home - instructions? - Defend well for the next 10 minutes, soak up the pressure, take your chance when it comes, defend well again. Instead - give a soft free kick away, dont mark, poor substitution, scrape a draw. Gerrard and Suarez equal MOM in 1st half but 2nd half sat too deep. Sagna there for the taking.
  3. Very sad news. Sympathy to June and family. Funeral is next Tues 18/09 at 1pm Walton Church then Anfield Crem.
  4. Gracias Rafa y familia. What a Mighty Man. A gentleman until the last. YNWA
  5. An honourable man who maintained his dignity despite provocation and disrespect - even from 'fans'. Short memories - I wonder if they're proud of themselves? My thanks and respect to you for the great times and to your family who called this place 'home'. YNWA. Get the leeches and the chav chairman out.
  6. I dont care what the man with no eyebrows says. So we rode our luck, usually it is us that has the chances without taking them, but they had their chances and blew them. Pepe, despite the ball squirming out of his hands once di great and it was superb reflexes to react to Marion's follow-up. I also think it was a clear pen on Lucas but Wiley wasn't having any of it. Does Shiteinga have to touch and stroke the ref the way he does? It's sinister the way he does it. Still playing poorly but getting better.
  7. Yates was very selective in his walk around the County Rd area. He was also selective in declaring 'profesional' workers dont reside here. They do, so either he didn't look for them or if he did he conveniently didn't mention them. L4 has 'nice houses' too, lived in by people who have worked hard, often with a similar background to him, who have brought their kids up in a decent manner - not that people in dont live in 'nice houses' dont do the same. His article is too one-sided and maybe a future visit will re-dress his negative view. I also notice he didn't mention the rundown state of his club's ground.
  8. Yet another example of poor research and even poorer judgement from people who have no idea what happened and the circumstances before, during and after. Clearly the 'academic' has no wish to deal with the aftermath of such an article, he has no compassion for those who lost loved ones or their relatives and friends.
  9. Just had a two day trip in Amsterdam - 'Bavaria' was good as was the 'Amstel' but pricey at 5 euros a pint though. Still had an imperial gallon just to make sure.
  10. Winter very conveniently ignores the fact that in Spain funerals generally take place within 24 hours of the person passing away and Rafa would not have got home in time anyway from Japan. But why let a fact get in the way of having yet another go at Rafa, its so much easier to use not going to the funeral as an example of Rafa's 'coldness' etc. And regarding Rafa having a go at SG and Carra - have you read todays Echo back page. They take the plaudits so let them take a bollocking if its warranted. Players need a reminder occasionally and they are no different.
  11. Respect. A great deal of love, pride and respect has gone into the making of that. YNWA
  12. The 20 year anniverary is almost upon us and it has taken me a long time to prepare myself to read Prof. Scraton's book and articles similar to this one but having read it recently it has helped me. God Bless
  13. Very sad news, was listening to him on City Talk yesterday. Knew his Rock music and introduced some great bands to the city. A good Red. RIP.
  14. Displyed on the wall outside the Oak on County Rd/Walton Rd I saw a 'banner' with the inspired slogan - 'bitter and twisted and proud of it'. Just about sums them up. Had to laugh when they released the blue and white balloons when the shite ran towards the Anny Rd. Thats usually the thing done by lower league clubs fans when they come for a day out and know they're going out the cup. As for Gollum saying they have Dignity at the hovel - how much dignity did cahill and lescott show when the scored? How much dignity did their bench show when they scored? How much dignity did they have singing the SG 'songs' and the pushing gestures. Gobshites. Never allow them into our ground again. I dont know why there was a draw for the next round as clearly they have won the cup - cue final whistle celebrations etc - and are planning the open-back transit van parade around Kirkby. Rafa was right - small club.
