Liverpool U18 8 Stevenage Borough U18 0 - Friendly (Jul 16 2011)
Mbrownrigg replied to TLW's topic in Academy 2011-2012
Dave Any chance of a bit of a factfile on the u18 players? Just what position they play, where they came from that type of thing? -
He was bloody great that year!
-
It'd be disappointing to lose him, for sure, no? But, you know what, if he goes he goes. this club will continue. And I honestly believe that our future is as bright as any other club in this country. And 6 weeks ago, the total opposite was true

The actual interview is pretty ambigious. Doesn't really say anything at all, he's just asked a question about Arsenal and united needing new keepers

Not seeing him as a CB myself. think his energy would be wasted in the Centre
-
I just don't see Hazard or Young being the answers out wide. THey both give me the impression they seem to want to play through the middle.
-
the key is mobile players who have great engines. Suarez, Meireles, Gerrard, Maxi, possibly Kuyt are all capable of interchanging with each other, when playing in advance positions anyway. What we'll get with Carroll is the focal point. And as we've seen for god knows how long, we have no width at the club, so pushing your full backs higher up the pitch means that isn't such a problem. How great would it be though, if this was how we were going to approach every match? Sending out a team picked to our strengths, for the oppsition to worry about, not a team picked because of the strengths of the oppisition?

Didn't he pick up an injury quite early on under Kenny? If my memory is right it was Gillespie who was Hansen's main partner back at the start of Kenny's managerial career
-
Molby used to be a spare man quite regualrly back in the day. I only started going the season after the double though, but from what I remember Lawrenson was never a regular under Kenny. In fact I seem to remeber him playing Full back quite often

How are we going to get the best out of our 4 attacking talents?
Mbrownrigg replied to Elite's topic in FF - Football Forum
I can see 4-3-3 being the future. With the 3 up front playing very high up the pitch. Carrol being the focal point -
Not sure about Subotic myself. Still like the Birmingham pair. CB is the priority position for me though
-
Good point about the rest. He isn't getting younger, but if he is handled correctly there is no reason why he shouldn't continue playing for years. If the 3 at the back is going to continue i'd like to Ayala given a go in Europe. Otherwise a centre hal is still the priority for me
-
totally agree. Been making that point myself. I just hope we end up making him regret it. And that was certainly one hell of a start
-
I missed ' on one@ out towards the end there
-
You know what I don't care. He's gone, he isn't one of us anymore. Shake his hand and move on, and I hope our fans just ignore him as well. he doesn't deserve anyone wasting any more energy on him. i'd love it if we spent every minute singing about the ones who want to wear the red shirt, not wasting a single minute who doesn't deserve us.
-
I think thats what the future might look like.
-
Agger has impressed me these last 5 games. Still hold my breath every time he goes down though, he's made out of china. Admittedly it might be because he's partnering Skrtel. I'd fancy that I'd look good partnering him at the minute
-
I don't think he's biased, I just think he's a blert! And Section 31, love the Avatar, any idea if series 3 is coming over here any time soon?

Our best ever goal keeper? Not just as a Gk, but what he is as a person?

I'm ashamed this bell played for us. If only his talent matched his own opinion of himself. Premier League - Stoke star 'forgot he owned Porsche' - Yahoo! Eurosport

We spent the 2nd half agaianst Wolves doing this, I'm wondering if there is a problem with Pep's kicking. All it did was mean we were forced to defend bloody deep and we got pushed back even further.
