  1. On reflection cant really argue too much with that :D
  2. chomping? wanked? cheaper? piss easy? my arse - took 6 months to get a contractor to give me a quote for my drive and another 9 months on top of that for someone to actually get it done
  3. In fairness Rafa bought Dossena (and Degan for that matter) because he thought they would both provide more attacking flair then the existing incumbents (and it was a cheaper option than buying good wingers) Dossena was a full Italian international and although he did look out of his depth it's not rocket science to see why the manager initially thought he could do a job for us. Even Degan was worth a punt for free - and who knows get him fit and he may still do a job. I agree Rafa has made mistakes but I can understand his thinking behind these two.
  4. A fully fit Gerrard would not have been as easy to mark out of that Chelsea game - be mindful he was just coming back from injury.
  5. That may well be so but Torres will start getting itchy feet if we fail to win any trophies next year
  6. nah more like in between the two Champions League games v Atletico when he was supposedly crocked :D
  7. I admit I know nothing at all about the internal workings of the youth set up but I do know the system has been pulverised on here for quite some time. It now seems that the changes Rafa is hoping to implement are also being pulverised. In the opinions of those in the know I am sincerely interested in how they think things should move forward and why they don't believe Rafa's intervention will be helpful - is it purely the personnel that Rafa wants to bring in??
  8. Agree with all this except the penultimate paragraph - I'm in denial
  9. I'm gonna watch the match again as I didnt enjoy it as much as I should have first time round. Did anyone else think, even with only 5 minutes to go,that the Mancs were bound to turn it round?
  10. It has been pointed out on here that United's shit midfield didn't stop them winning the Premiership - but it sure as hell stopped them winning the Champions League. I'm certain our midfield would have faired better against Barca, whether that would have been enough to beat them - I have no idea.
  11. This is a reasonable argument, the problem is that when you have to rest players - usually against the lower placed teams or for the domestic cup competitions, the replacements need to be of the required standard to come in and do a job. The common consensus among Liverpool fans is that our first team can beat anybody but our squad is not as good as that of Chelsea or United. Perhaps buying quality squad signings like Barry may go some way to changing all that?
  12. Did Fat Sam and Ferguson win the best collaboration award?
  13. s'true, remember always, always read the small print
  14. Off on a tangent I know but the lad next to me yesterday spent more time watching the Kop than watching the game
  15. I thought Riera cost around £6m-£7m
  16. I think hitting the woodwork 29 times during the season probably cost us more points than refereeing decisions
  17. So Rafa has told somebody who has told somebody else who has told atk that he wants to sell Xabi but will make it look like he had to sell him for the money so the fans dont get upset with Rafa - no wait sorry I mean Rafa told somebody who told somebody else who has told atk that he will sell Xabi and will make it look like Xabi was the one who wanted to go so the fans dont get upset with Rafa. Meanwhile Xabi has told somebody who told somebody else who has told atk that Xabi really doesnt want to leave, but if he is forced to go it will only be to Real Madrid (who are fucking shite by the way) so the fans don't get upset with Xabi for being disloyal. Have I got the gist or am I missing something?
  18. I'm truly disappointed nobody has moaned about Stevie being on a jolly in Cannes just 3 days before a match
  19. Don't be such a turnip, he really doesnt want United to win it :wallbutt:
  20. It's not the perceived wisdom on here but I still reckon Gerrard will manage us before Carra
  21. Some £45 million was lavished on Robbie Keane, Andrea Dossena, Diego Cavalieri, Philipp Degen and Albert Riera. Only the last has made an impact No doubt our squad isnt strong enough but that article falls down right here
  22. To round it off nicely I suppose they all left the field completely fucking intact as well?
