    Hopefully you'll give him the wisdom of your experience in running a rather large football club. Or maybe you'll do the sensible thing and see how things pan out regardless of who they appoint. Depressing to think that some of out 'fans' pre-judge the success of otherwise of a manager before he's started. Maybe they can boo loud enough after their appointment and assist in the downfall of another manager and another wasted season.

    What qualified Klopp for Dortmund? Did nothing previously. Antonio Conte? Small team manager. Rene Girard? Youth team coach! Frank de Boer? No experience at all.

    Like I said in the post, it's rare that good managers do win anything with smaller clubs and only have modest success. Things like getting promoted or finishing high is often as good as it gets. The example I used, Klopp, did nothing of any note at Mainz. Rafa managed here without winning the league, no matter what he did in Spain. If the chance of Champions League qualification is as high as your ambition is, then I'm happy for you. If we want to be challenging for the league then risks need to be taken.

    So you can say for certain that the likes of Martinez, Rodgers, Lambert aren't the great managers of the future? Where the fuck do you think good managers come from? They don't magically appear out of thin air, nearly always they've managed small clubs and made their way up often with modest success. I've no doubt you would have spat on the likes of Klopp for being a no-one manager if he'd come straight from Mainz to Liverpool. In terms of league position, Liverpool wouldn't be much of a step up for any of them and a natural progression.

    Yes. That's 7 years ago. And this year we pipped Fulham to 8th place. I think some people would be surprised how unattractive we'd seem to the best young managers. Why the fuck anyone would think that the likes of Klopp would leave his 80,000 fans a week, champions league football and homeland for Liverpool is beyond me.

    Hollloway over Allardyce obviously, but I'd prefer West Ham to come up. West Ham just feel like a proper top division club, while Blackpool are just all a bit Stanley Matthews. I always feel as if I should be watching them in black and white. Southampton are back as well which just adds to it. Not sure about Reading though, all a bit posh down there in Berkshire. Oh, and Blackpool is fucking miles away.

    Yes. They are from Scotland. From Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee and Berwick. I imagine they could barely go out of doors for fear of tripping over one another. Fortunately despite not being able to make contact notwithstanding the other 4-5 million people in their local area, they had the internet. Lucky break, eh. You are just reinforcing my argument of it being concentrated in a small community. 9 (and as you said probably more) people in a small area all happening to be into fucking non-legals.
