  1. If they were to lose their next game then I really would start to believe, because we are looking awesome at the minute and I would'nt be surprised if we do win our last 9 games. I seem to remember us winning 10 on the bounce a season or 2 ago, and since were a better team now its a very real possiblilty. I'm going to stick my neck out and say were going to win this on the last day of the season on a goal difference +1 on theirs. I've just got this vision in my head of the players all running over to the bench at the end of the spurs game finding out that the mancs have drawn against Wigan and then going wild with stevie G giving Rafa a big bear hug and kissing his head. The new Liverpool Way is doing things the hard way.
  2. Change all your light bulbs to energy saving ones as they use about 5 times less electricity than standard bulbs. Turn off all electrical appliances by the plug when not in use (except your fridge of course!). This will save you a fair few quid every month.
  3. I'm going for a big win today as City are not the kind of team to park the bus, plus they cant defend. They will probably nick a goal themselves from a set piece because lets face it Lucas will probably be playing which means free kicks around the penalty area for them. 4 -1 today with a nando hat trick. Well done Rafa for finally getting the reds challenging for the title towards the end of the Season, it feels great to have decent shot at the title for a change.
  4. We need to win all of our games between now and facing them, and then we will have to beat them as I dont even think a draw will be good enough. They are due a blip sometime soon, even its hard to see at the moment and all we can do is to continue winning, breathing down there necks all season. Earlier this season Chelsea looked unstoppable, and looked very much like they would walk the title...until they played us! The odds are against it, but when have odds ever stopped us before!
  5. I'm expecting Rafa to do something unexpected if that makes sense? I cant see nando playing, not so soon after his last game considering his hamstring troubles and the tiredness factor.
  6. I think there was very little wrong with Rafas tactics yesterday, it was more a combination of a lot of players not performing to their standard and subs being used a little to late to make a difference. People seem to think that kuyt on his own up front was the problem, but what difference would it have made having two strikers up there anyway when all of the midfield players were having such a stinker that they were unable to get the ball into the box more than twice in the whole game. The thing that worries me most about this performance is that it came when we have been on such a good run of performances. How can the level go from great to shit in space of a week. Any time we seem to start to gain some momentum a game like this comes along and fucks it all up, and its back to square one. A win against Everton now is an absolute must, as a defeat could seriously derail our season as far as the league title goes. Everton will be just as stubborn as Stoke were, and they are far better at set pieces so this is going to be one serious battle.
  7. Why did we look tired for the whole of the match, I mean we haven't played since last weekend so I couldn't work that one out. We didn't look 'up' for this game one bit, and the players have actually made Rafa look like a bit of tit now after yesterdays events. We needed a bullish statement from the team today, but all we got was bull shit!
  8. It's still poor from a design perspective as all of those things are represented in one thing alone, and thats the Liverbird herself. Its massively overcomplicated and tries to incorporate far too much in one go. I still think the club should have allowed to copyright their own version of it, as that version was specifically drawn and designed for the club in the first place, but it seems lfc should have done it 20 years ago really.
  9. You do get the impression that there is more than just tactical reasons for Rafa leaving both Keane & Babel out of the starting line up. Keane mouthing off about being at Anfield for a long time when he has done nothing to justify it, along with getting his Agent to see if he can engineer him a move back to spurs (allegedly!). Then there is Babel, sounding off about wanting more playing time when he has also done nothing to justify it. It seems if you mess with Rafa and show any non commitment to the reds cause, then its just a matter of time before your out the door. No matter how talented you are!
  10. Boro were absolute gash against these, and thats not taking anything away from the fact that Chelsea looked very good, because they did. But what I have noticed is that they are throwing men forward like i've never seen before, and I can see them being very cocky and doing the same against us, which is why I'm expecting us to score a goal or two. If we show the energy and commitment as we did against the mancs, harassing them and forcing the play, then I can see us getting something from the game. They will come at us from the start all guns blazing, so we have to be prepared for that and hope that our defence can find its form quickly.
  11. The most exciting aspect about this win and quite a few before it is that we are still not on top form, but we sit level on points with Chelsea at the top. Chelsea will not maintain that level of football for a full season, but it is vital that we are there ready to take advantage when the slip up comes. A draw or better at there place, then I think we can start to believe.
  12. I think it was in the editorial, but I cant remember his name. As I say though, I thought it was a good read in general, although I find it bizarre that they think Mark Lawrenson has a biased agenda when it comes to his match 'predictions' as I've never known an ex Liverpool player to be as least biased about us as he is. In fact, I think he fucking hates us!
  13. I'm sure he is, and a lot of what he was saying about football in general I have to agree with. But that particular comment just lacked a bit of insight.
  14. I was reading a Wigan Fanzine recently called 'Mudhutters', and was surprised to read that their editor thinks the only reason we want Dubai in is because we are desperate to win the premier league. Just goes to show how little other supporters of other clubs understand what the real situation is.
  15. But wouldn't have Arsenal been a much more appropriate team to speak of in this sense? Were foreign ownership allied with a foreign manager has taken whatever was once cockney out of the team and replaced it with a world 11. I dont think it matters what country the owners of the club are from as 'there only there to write the cheques' as a great man once said.
  16. We played well, but our strikers and midfielders had a mare in front of goal, its as simple as that. We didn't 'bottle' it, or play shit, we just had one of those days in front of goal, and as long as we don't have too many more days like this then I still believe we can put in a title challenge over the course of the season.
  17. We just need to take full advantage of ANY opportunity that comes our way in the game, whilst at the same time not caving in under pressure if the game stays tight right up until the last few minutes. If its 0-0 after 70mins, then you can be sure that it will us under pressure, because we always shit ourselves thinking its just a matter of time before they score. Whilst at the same time Manu grow towards the end, because they expect it as much as we do! The mindset has to absolutely spot on from the off, because its what always lets us down whenever we play this shower.
  18. He never comes across well in interviews does he. I can never understand how people can suggest he will be a future Liverpool manager, because I can just imagine him taking his own players 'looking him in the eye' and telling him were they have to play very well indeed!
  19. Not the most creative of midfields is it. The full backs are meant to provide the width in this formation, but on the evidence of what we've seen so far this season I cant see it happening. Its obvious that Rafa would see a point here today as a good result, and its that kind of attitude that will mean we wont challenge for the title. I so hope I'm wrong.
  20. This game is a real tough one to predict, as the smart money says that our early season poor form is about to catch up with us and we will be fortunate to get a result. BUT, things are never that simple are they, and I wouldn't be surprised if we win tomorrow. I can see Villa playing quite open and coming straight at us from the off, so as long as we are prepared for this I can see us picking them off on the break. I'd push alonso as far up the field as we can, and let mash sort out all the sweeping work, as Alonso is a far better attacker than he is a 'holding' midfielder. 1-2 Torres, Babel
  21. The thing is we have all watched Manure and Chelsea play as shit as that and escape with an undeserved victory, its what the very best teams do. By making sure you have several match winners in your squad, victory is always at hand no matter how you play. It only takes a moment of magic from any of Gerrard, Torres or Keane to win the game. We would have probably drawn that game in seasons gone, so it was a great result, and for me it marks a change in the team which makes us highly dangerous. We can now play badly but still win.
  22. I think we will see just how effective the Gerrard, Keane and Torres partnership can be today. Leaving out Alonso is purely a tactical reason (thats the only way Rafa thinks!), he'll push Gerrard high up the pitch playing just behind the strikers with Plessis looking after the mash role. Alonso has never really been that great of a holding midfielder, he always works much better when pushed up into an attacking position. I can understand why Rafa has picked the team he has, and I dont see why anyone should be surprised by it.
  23. I remember playing Mario64 for the first time and just being shocked at how amazing the graphics were for the time, plus the gameplay felt so new and fresh. Nintendo messed up with using cartridges for the games though instead of CD's, I remember a lot of the games costing 45 quid which was way to expensive. Ocarina of Time is still the best game ever made.
