The bill was passed by the coalition government. 0.7% was defined in 1970 by the UN that all countries should strive for. Not really something the tories wanted or were ever in a hurry to do. Now the country needs to beg for trade deals, doing away with these little back handers isn't the way to go.

    Seems a bit odd to apply some legislation that cam in during 2012 to a case where someone has lived here for so long. It is right to prevent families coming over to live with someone earning less than £19K. They're not being deprived of family life as they can return to their country.     Congratulations. I've been up all night for the last two nights because Jake (nearly 10 months old) has a cold and I do the night shift. He was in bed with us last night and head butted me on the nose with his tossing and turning. His Mum went downstairs to sleep. She's ill as well. Glad to get to work for a break. Hopefully he'll be in a better mood when I get home and he uses me as a climbing frame.
