  1. I won my first game, and thought I ruled. I have since lost 3 of my last four and realised that I suck the big one. I have also noticed that I seem to be the only team not to have a player with a skill level of 7. Is this pure bad luck on my part, or are my 'alternative' training techniques - cold showers, cutting up players' Armani suits in regular 'bonding' japes, etc - to blame?
  2. 20 minutes? For a wank? Are you wining and dining yourself first?
  3. Was expecting a couple of the Doom/Ghostface collaborations on there (unless he has some production duties on there). That and the Nas LP entirely produced by Primo have the potential to be two of the best albums in a long long time..
  4. True. But dildo is a funny word. Sandwich is just mildly amusing.
  5. I know who you remind me of now...it's a certain comedy sketch involving Paul Whitehouse and Harry Enfield. Maybe we should wait and see what happens, eh?
  6. Rhetorical question mate. I learnt that on my first day at the TLW academy, along with don't leave my children anywhere near Saturday Shopper. And I don't even have any kids..
  7. But by the way, thanks for setting my mind at rest Real Red. I shall leave thoughts of impending Nik shortage to my great great great grand children and continue to consume as much as I like..
  8. Look, I'm sick of the biscuit/crisp debate. We both know there's a huge grey area. One man's crisp is another man's biscuit and all that. So let's just declare an amnesty, agree to disagree, but agree that Wheat Crunchies are destined to be declared winner..
  9. 1) Tomato Wheat Crunchies 2) Nice 'n' Spicy Nik Naks 3) Pickled Onion Monster Munch 4) Quavers The top three pose a heart wrenching question...as Golden Wonder have gone bust, what the fuck is going to be happen when their wheat, nik and monster supplies run out? I for one am petrified. Unless they've already been taken over in which case I'm non plussed..
  10. I'm sick of the constant comparisons with Evans. Sad as it is, 4th meant something with the expansion of the Champions League. It meant nothing when Evans was in charge. Once the Champions League became roughly what it is today, many clubs took financial risks to get in it, so there were more clubs to compete with at the higher end of the table. Also, once we were in the Champions League (via Ged), we had more money to spend than when we weren't in it under Evans. In Houllier's first season we had a lot to spend because the board had held off from backing Evans any more after spunking huge amounts on Babb, Scales et al. There certainly weren't many Evans signings that were sold on for profits. Yet we all view Evans with warmth. So why do you constantly trot out this bollocks about Houllier?
  11. I am possibly emigrating to Sydney next year with my girlfriend (who is Australian). It's just a case of proving that we have been living together for two years, which will happen in April next year. Am shitting it, but then she gave up her very cosy life in Sydney to come over here, so it's about time I repaid the favour. I lived in Sydney for a year about three years ago, so it's not quite so daunting as I already know I love the city and have lots of friends there. Also, as has been said before, the language is not a problem. Finally, it's much easier to get jobs in the media over there, especially if you're English and all your Australian friends work in the industry. I can't see that it will be permanent - the weather isn't important enough to me, and England will always seem like home - but I think it's something that everyone should try, if the conditions are right.
  12. What a line that is. My hat is well and truly off to you, sir..
  13. I am going to prove to myself that I am fundamentally a better human being than you by not saying what I feel like saying now, but instead want to make a point about Lyon. Watched the game last night, and actually thought they played some really nice stuff. I realise that the French press have been saying that Lyon are a much more defensive minded side under Houllier, so his pragmatic approach is certainly still present, but the football on display (when they actually got the ball) was much more pleasing on the eye than most of what we saw in his last two years here. And who can possibly wish ill on a man who buys a £10M Brazilian striker called Fred?
  14. They read a bit more of the statement just now - apparently we are talking to a number of potential investors. Though that number could be, in fairness 1. Between Ian Cotton and Sky Sports News we would appear to have the slowest drip feed of information in history..
  15. Urge.....to...kill....rising........ So do I Rashid, so do I.
  16. Don't be silly, this is Sky Sports News we're talking about. They've mentioned it 14 times, yet expanded on it not a jot..
  17. ...have just had breaking news on that Liverpool have confirmed that they are in talks wwith potential investors that could include an offer for the entire share capital of the club.
  18. It's an unanswerable question, like 'the sound of one hand clapping', or if 'a tree falls in a forest'...My take? Because we can. It's hardly akin to the G14 membership farce, is it?
  19. It didn't just not cross the line, Gallas was barely past the half way line according to their 'technology'...
  20. Sounding good. Unless you put Hooty McBoob, Chesty La Rue and Busty St Claire as 'references'.....
  21. Doesn't really work as a quote, granted, but why the laugh? Public Enemy in particular are possibly the most articulate, powerful protest lyricists I've ever heard.
  22. Agree totally on Enter the Dragon. Disagree totally on The Matrix. Most. Wooden. Fights. Ever.
  23. 1) Is the reason he might want to score not fairly self evident? 2) Must have been at Matalan that evening. Enlighten me.. 3) I'm in a really foul mood today. Sorry
  24. The thing is, you're really really wrong. Rap is the same as any genre, there's shit lyricists and good lyricists. So, in the same way as other genres, a lot of what you hear in the charts is watered down, brainless drivel. But I'd put Chuck D, Illmatic-era Nas, GZA and Rakim up there with Bob Dylan in the canon.
