  1. How long do you reckon is respectful enough to leave a dead "friend" as a friend on Facebook ? I put "friend" in " " because she was not really a friend friend - just a facebook friend - ie someone i used to work with but I was too polite to decline her friend request. Now she's dead - (and been dead for about 6 months now) So GF how long do you reckon before I remove her from my list ? It's spooking me out seeing her looking at me and her rellies keep posting things about angels etc which are cluttering my status update pages. (and no she's not and never was fit - in case that makes a difference). and will anyone be able to see that I have removed her as a friend ? I don't want a status update saying "Michael is no longer friends with Michaela (deceased)" as that would make me look heartless.
  2. Only the members of the forum. Particularly if there was forensic evidence of jelly lump spunk upon which i needed reassurance from the forum family. Why ask ?
  3. Good stuff Paul. Glad you enjoyed it. I think its a lovely simple, basic, clean site in a cracking location. We shall be back there in the future. We went further afield and tried dorset but had a horrendous 8 hour journey, it rained every day apart from 2 and generally it was pretty crap as the kids were a nightmare !! Although Dorset is beautiful and had the weather been better then the journey would have been worth it. If Dorset interests then The Inside Park, at Blandford Forum is the place. great site. THE INSIDE PARK, BLANDFORD, DORSET, UK
  4. I thought he was the funniest thing i had seen for ages when he first appeared last year - i bought his live and laughing dvd and, though with hindsight, i had seen most of his material (man draw, loft, chinese, trolleyed etc) on various stand up clips i still thought he was very amusing and recommended his work with the devotion of a real convert. Now i increasingly find him to be an irritating chubby ponce with floppy hair and only one blue suit. He has become a victim of own success. Too much exposure - especially now on his "Comedy Roadshow" (stop shouting will you). He's still funny but he had obviously spent years honing his routine for his big break and i think he is scrabbling round for new material. (Sean Lock was very very funny last week). (I have remembered MM's best routine now - bringing on labour - curry beer and sex etc - very amusing blow job gag).
  5. I thought thread was about some sort of variant on Dr Ahmed . . . . !! Well done Dirk. Impressive stuff.
  6. Those disposables are so crap its unbelievable. They literally seem to have about 6 charcoal briquettes in them. I've never managed to cook more than about 3 sausages on the things. I find those lumpwood bags where you light the whole bag are great. At the weekend I couldn't get any and had to do it with those awful briquettes. Took me about 2 hours to get the thing going even with lighter cubes in there. A cup of Methylated spirit was the only thing to get the buggers burning. Is it just me or does anyone else find that gas barbecues stink from all the fat? Friends have them and rave but i find the smell of old rancid fat quite nauseating. I know you empty that little drip tray but even so they do seem to hum a fair bit. That Yurt in Oregan looks the absolute dogs' danglies.
  7. Generalisation alert . . . . . . . . but aren't Persian women fit . . . . . Good bone structure and great eyes* * awaits post of Burkha picture
  8. I like a good pie and mash as much as i like a good fish and chips but the trouble with English cuisine is that all these are so heavy so would just feel bloated eating this sort of stodge day in day out. I couldn't do without rice, pasta and salad etc. I'm afraid that France, Italy and Spain all kick us into touch on the food front. We're ahead of the Germans and the Ruskies mind and as for the Scandos . . . . . . black bread and pickled fish . . . . . .
  9. Anyone ever buy anything from these places? Watched a bit of that Mary Queen of Charity Shops last night and she was trying to re-invent a Save the Chidlren shop in Orpington but she was fighting agaisnt the geriatric staff who were set in their ways. Quite entertaining in a shite wimmins fashion reality telly kinda way. I can't say I have ever bought anything myself but as a kid my Mum would put us in jumble - spome we hated soem was alright. And someone mentioned to me the other day he was flogging a second hand pair of jeans on Ebay and expected to get £30 for them - i was amazed. So I'm thiking of trying to find myself a nice Harris tweed jacket from a charity shop now . . - might need a good dry clean to get the dead person smell off it but might be worth a try. Anyone into this form of recycling then ?
  10. They don't have to work for free. They can take unpaid leave. If you are lucky enough to have some savings to tide you over then that might be an attractive option for some people. And i think they phase the unpaid month over the next year or so don';t they? They did this at Honda and it has saved jobs that would otherwsie have been culled. Most people would opt for reduced hours instead of no job.
  11. and Spaghetti Bolognese. You don't get much more English than that.
  12. Haven't checked the washing instructions yet !! You're right though. We had a tent very like yours and it would be useless in that - as you say straight in and mud and sand etc. We've just changed our tent and so have got a little kitchen porch on the front so shoes can be taken off in there so it doesn't get messy. In the right tent its the business though.
  13. is right. I can rough it as a one off for 1-2 nights but with kids and staying more than a couple of nights then you need a bit of comfort. Best £40 we've ever spent on camping equipment was our tent carpet. Just used it for first time. Sounds stupid but just made it so much warmer and cosier than a cold groundsheet in the living area. Its a glorified lined picnic blanket with a bit of foam insulation but its great. Vango Carpets
  14. My only comment on Shell Island would be never go on a bank holiday weekend - the drains can't cope with the volume. Not nice. But if the weather is nice and its not too crowded then its a lovely spot. Bar and shop are a bit tatty. As an alternative though I can't recommend Bolmynydd highly enough. Nothing like Shell Island but Llanbedrog beach is 10 mins walk and it is just a fabulous spot. You can easily do a day trip to Shell Island from Llanbedrog and you can go on the beach as a day visitor. Also theres the best kids farm i've ever been to on the way - near Harlech. My other top tip for North Wales is GreenWood Forest Park : Family Attraction Snowdonia North Wales can't rate it highly enough. get there by 10 and stay all day - take a picnic to get your money's worth.
  15. Probably but i've bought little plants so i'm not waiting for seeds to germinate. Fingers crossed i'll have some produce within a month ? Lets hope this weather sticks. My tomatoes did fuck all last year.
  16. Stocked up with grow bags today and a load of plants. The Howard family are now hoping to have plentiful supplies of mixed leaves, rocket, spinach, toms and courgettes all summer. . . . . mmmmmmmm salad picked fresh from the garden. Anyone else going all "Good Life" ?
  17. Carpets for tents. I've seen the future and its warm under foot. Lovely snuggly. Have now done 2 camping expeditions so far this year. Only 7 weeks until the epic 2 week summer camping holiday in Dorset. Rock an roll baby. Rock an roll.
  18. She's no Billie Piper. SM will be pleased tho. He's a bit of a ging lover isn't he ?
  19. Interesting read that article. I would still have gone for a holiday until i read about the sewage in the sea. Makes you wonder whether DIC would have been the saviour so many on the *F think after all if the whole place is built on so much debt ? The whole Disney Land stuff and the snow dome are so absurd and grotesque in that environment. I have heard about these mid level Brits earnign £30K a month adn wondered what the hell is going on i the world and that articale answers some of it. You can picture the parties with sun and alcohol soaked middle aged wrinklies everywhere getting pissed and thinking the good times last forever and ending up sleeping in the SUV. If i lived abroad i can;t think of anything worse than being surrounded by colonies of ex-pats. It would be like an Airtours holiday that lasts for ever.
  20. That advert for some on line bingo site with a big unit in pink pyjamas dancing on the ceiling. Not exactly selling the lifestyle of online bingo is it. Fat munter sat at home in PJs playing boingo on her own. Very Heather from Eastenders (good soap analysis by the way S 31).
  21. Took note of the advice on here about Norton making your PC slower than a slow slow worm on go slow and removed it all and installed the free AVG. Amazed at the improvement in how quickly it boots up etc. Is there anything else i should have aswell to deal with other things like Trojans or keyloggers or whatever - or should AVG be enough on its own (i keep widows updated and have the firewall on etc).
  22. Like the resurrection it would also be a miracle if anyone bought one of those god awful sofas from DFS* or SCS - they are univerally grotesque. Or is it just me and my uber stylish taste . . . . . . . * takes cover and hopes mav doesn't read this. The Easter Miracle Exclusive to DFS
  23. My sister did the 12 months in the clasroom route where she did a couple of 2 week education theory bits and then was basically in the classroom 4 days a week and 1 day at a local college. I think having routes to allow mature people who have done other things to become teachers without having to do full time education where they earn nothing for 12 months is a good idiea Wankers bankers though is another thing. I'd like to see Giles from Merryl Lynch teaching seconadry school history in an inner city comp!
