  1. I expect this has been suggested previously but what about dog shit through her letter box?
  2. I expect you're right re there not being a main reason why Sterling has performed badly over the last 15 years although economic mis management by the Government will be up there along with everything else already mentioned Re Covid inflation that seems to be supply side related much more than demand side so QE, Furlough etc were marginally inflationary as opposed to the Supply Side Crunch which caused the majority of the damage
  3. Haha, wonder why you're quoting 5 years.. sure there was some sort of event, maybe 6ish years ago, that might have affected the exchange rate
  4. Massive shocks to the economy tend to have a lasting impact This isn't remotely noteworthy news
  5. The War is the main reason, granted Number 2, really? Interesting view much pushed by the Telegraph and the ERG but when you look at the alternative... Re the Federal Reserve... the £ crashed straight after Brexit nothing to do with the Fed. The £ has also fallen re the Euro and surely the biggest impact on Sterling is the trajectory of the UK economy? What currency is safer now the £ or the Euro?
  6. It's not the only reason, obviously, but it's a big part of it. Are you saying that if we were still in the EU we'd be in the same state as we are now? If you add big barriers to trade with your largest and closest market it's going to hurt badly... 4% of GDP badly
  7. 18 month recession We're fucked but at least we've got those lovely new black passports
  8. Fifty Fucking three. My only consolation is that I'm 300 years younger than Stringy

  12. Watched about half an hour of Lamar's set It's not for me at all Found it dull and trite... monotonous Each to their own etc

  17. Afghanistan Iraq etc... there's been lots of testing grounds for the shiny weaponry and, as far as I can see, it works
  18. Pre Ukraine would have been a possibility Now the Rubricon has been crossed it's not going to be happening Same with China and Taiwan
  19. If Russia decided to invade the Baltic States the first question would be with what? Their armed forces are currently being smashed by one of the poorest country in Europe. The second question would be how long the invasion would last... hours or days Nato would very definitely fight
  20. My Grandfather never talked about but I learnt that he went ashore at Juno beach on D day and survived the rest of the War. He was in the Kings Regiment, apparently, which was the Liverpool regiment He was wounded by shrapnel in the head and we think this finally killed him in the early 80s. Growing up in the 70s and 80s the whole WW2 thing seemed a lot more vivid as it was still in living memory for a lot of people being only 30 odd years previously... think 1992 for today
  21. My mate's wife is from Derry. She's great but her family are the biggest bunch of cunts you're ever likely to meet Rabid Nationalist Brexiteers, Covid deniers and right wing extreme Catholics.
  22. I had my mortgage with them... they were excellent even when I was jobless for a while and missed payments
