Sorry haven't gone through the whole thread but here's my comment. 1. This is great. This should put some discipline and some dignity back into football re. transfers. 2. I wonder why there has not been any rumors prior to this? What have all those tabloids been doing? Or have I missed something? This is strange!

Sorry I haven't gone through the thread, but I voted Babel. Based on preseason form, he's staked his claims. I'd love us to play Gerrard in the middle and Yossi in the hole. I think that's his (Yossi's) position. Then Babel on the left. Agreed that he's too predictable and always cut in too frequently, but he did OK during preseason. I doubt that Riera is ready for the start of the season (returning late and injured) so I voted Babel.

This thread is surely becoming a hit so I'd just make sure I'm part of it.

I'd have to break Stevie G's heart buy selling him to a non-CL side. Maybe he would be OK because he will have lifted the PL with us already at the end of this season.

Can't wait to see him do that for us when we land # 19 this season!

I think it's the character the Germans see fit for keepers. Their keepers do this all the time. Schumacher, Kahn, Lehmann,..., you name them. Their top keepers who don't do this are seen as not having a winning mentality.

Seconded. I was thinking about Michael Johnson but then realized we have our own David.

I'm left-footed. I used to play left back but was not good at, and not within a mile of any LFC player. I then like to play left-mid and love to think I played like Ronnie Whelan. But later I was played centre forward and scored like fun. So I figured out actually I played like Robbie Fowler.

Good topic. Mine was 1989 league games against Arsenal. Still couldn't accept it happened. A team of our calibre couldn't get the results of NOT losing by 2 clear goals to win the title? Had we won that we would have been ahead of the Mancs 19-18 and next year we'd have been further ahead and Ferguson would never have a chance to 'knock us of our perch!'
