  1. Blue cross sale starting on Saturday in HMV. 25% off all back catalogue stuff (I.e. everything that isn't already on sale). I work for them and I know we're obviously more expensive than amazon on most things (but not all) but that has more to do with paying overheads for the stores like wages and rent and paying tax in the UK. The Twin Peaks box set has been on sale for £20 -£25 for most of the last year but when we order in store for customers when we're out of stock we can only order at the RRP. All the sale stock is ordered and distributed among stores from head office. Anyway we're at crunch time this month and it could go either way. If we stay open and are bought by a/some record companies expect us to become more competitive price wise with amazon than we can afford to be now.
  2. Ghost Stories for Christmas (5-DVD set): Amazon.co.uk: Sir Michael Hordern, John Hurt, Denholm Elliot, Peter Bowles, Peter Vaughan, Various: Film & TV as luck would have it.
  3. I guess the harsh truth is that Kenny was never FSG's man, Rodgers is so I assume he'll be granted more patience. We would all have loved to have seen the King lift number 19 but whatever the rights and wrongs are, it wasn't to be. As far as transfer funds go none of us know for sure how much will be pumped in but even if a relatively small amount it could still be spent much more wisely than previously.

  5. Personally speaking, I just don't get the shrill histrionics being spouted all over the place. I'm interested in what's going to happen with Rodgers and more than willing to give the man some time. We probably won't have a shedload of cash but imagine, just imagine the sweetness of a league title that wasn't wholly bought retail ala Man City. Have a bit of faith, or if not trust for a couple of seasons at least.
  6. It wasone of those films were if you had to go for a piss you might as well fuck off home because you'd never catch up again. I enjoyed the slow pace though, it sort of mesmerized me. Gary Oldman did a very good job of channeling Alec Guinness and all the acting was so understated you had to watch for every tick or flicker of emotion to understand what was really going on.
  7. £7 Ian's Barbershop, Woolton. Give him a tenner and call it quits.
  8. radioarchive.cc : Home actually not so much audiobooks as radio comedies and dramas. Some boss stuff though.
  9. RoboRiise, fantastic post. Articulates a lot of what I think but am not eloquent enough to do myself. Also, I got to use the tweet this button for the first time.
  10. These pictures don't give an accurate portrayal of the monsters. Despite appearances King Kong was not 10,000 feet tall by any stretch and actually had to climb the Empire State Buliding. In reality Kong was no more than 25 feet tall. Godzilla was actually 100 feet tall, was radioactive and could breathe fire. Godzilla would clearly win. I feel the o.p. needs to do some background research before he humiliates himself and brings down the reputation of this forum by posing such an uneven contest in the future.
  11. I feel like I helped derail the thread a bit here, although thanks for the rep and the comments. Anyway, funny isn't it how much news has happened over the last few weeks? Since Hackgate and the markets started to go tits up again. *taps nose*
  12. Oh I know I'm boring, which is why I lurk rather than post copius amounts of gubbins. There's a lesson for us all there I feel.
  13. I have no affiliation with silverlining. I hate you all by myself.
  14. As a lurker of long standing, Jon can I just say I don't care about your level of intelligence I'm more concerned that you're fucking boring. And everywhere.
