  1. No I may even join you. Happy Birthday Gazelle
  2. I was watching Lewis last night with Mrs Mav and I heard Lewis say that there is an age when men become invisible to beautiful women. I thought what a great line. I mean personally I have been invisible to beautiful women (apart from Mrs Mav, obviously) all my life, but I thought if he is right - what would that age be? 40? 50? More? But his observation does seem to contradict the modern view that men get more attractive as they get older not less. I call it SCF (Sean Connery Factor). It reassures me to theorise that men mature like a fine wine whilst women get old saggy, past their sell by date and their bits aren't weren't they are supposed to be. It's human nature's humorous way of levelling the score. Women get it all their own way at one end of the spectrum whilst men at the other. When I was younger all they had to do to get into a club at 15/16 was throw some socks down a bra, slap a bit of lippy on their pouty lips, hitch up their skirts to their knicker line and they were allowed in by the leering bouncer. When I tried to get in all spotty, hormonal and with a voice like it was on a roller coaster I'd be told to fuck off. So which is right - Lewis or SCF?
  3. You say that like it's a bad thing.
  4. Why is this a debate. She's female She's got a pulse You're not related So the answer would be yes
  5. I think what happens to two consenting Poles in the privacy of their own home is up to them. As long as they're not hurting anyone I mean as long as they're not hurting anyone but themselves who are we to judge. For more reading in this area http://users.ox.ac.uk/~alls0079/positivism2.pdf So in conclusion I say let's leave the Poles alone.
  6. Yes but how many games this season alone has that happened. Dominated possession - check Created plenty of chances - check Greater number of shots on target - check Greater of number of shots off target - check Goals scored - nil Spawny counter attack creating the oppositions one chance of the game equalling a goal - check Game lost or more probably drawn - check
  7. I remind myself that there are a number of positives to take from this season but what I will not miss when it ends is our total inability to beat shite teams, low on confidence who are normally either in or teetering on the relegation zone. Want a confidence booster - make sure you're playing Liverpool in the next game. When do we play West Brom again?......
  8. 3 kids under 5 and an office move slows you down your GFige time apparently. Oh and he looks about 100 these days.
  9. Funny - I was going to post on here this morning if I got a chance, that whilst I am not singing that the hills are alive to the sound of music happy with our club at the moment - I had been thinking - it could be worse - we could be the Chavs. And then they illustrate my point for me.
  10. Or is there another reason I have to log in everytime I come on here at the moment? If we are given the dearth of good quality debate on the *f I would say it is a ship that has long since sailed and is currently around the cape of good hope.
  11. Absolutely the funniest ad I have seen in an age. Bring on the trumpets.
  12. I would like to say congratulations to Everton. Giant killing is part of the magic of the FA Cup and that is what happned last night. How often have we seen over the years small clubs punch above their weight in one game especially if it is at their place. Small antiquated stadiums filled to bursting with fans who can manage to get there for the only big game they'll ever see but of whom there is no sign at any other time. For them it is a cup final - as we all know when plucky Yeovil, Hereford, or Everton beat one of the big boys you know that is as good as it gets for them. Beaten in the fourth round, the semi or even the final itself unless you actually get your hands on the trophy it makes actually very little difference in real terms. Unless of course it is for MotD to dig out a clip of it when they talk of the magic of the FA Cup. Which is why of course it gives them the most pleasure to have knocked us out rather than progressing in the competition itself. (This will always be the difference between us) We have been the subjects of perhaps the biggest giant killing act (albeit they were a premiership side at the time) in Wimbledon in 1988. And I think there are comparisons to be made with last night. We played a club that manages to play to their strengths given their limited ability and poor quality players and scrapes by in the premier league year on year. A club that is relocating out of their catchment area. Perhaps they will even change their names: K Y Tons anyone? And with a bit of luck they will disappear off the face of the footballing planet like their illustrious predecessors who played the same style of football. Now to the league and Champions League
  13. There will obviously be a lot of negative posts on here today so allow me to give a little perspective. Okay - we couldn't beat Wigan (or Stoke - twice, or Fulham, or the shite - twice or West Ham or Spurs when they were in the bottom three) but that misses the point. Wigan are a big club. Massive. Huge. So did we go there with unrealistic expectations in beating them? They were after all 2nd Division champions in 2003 and in 1999 won the Auto Windscreens Shield trophy. They are also managed by someone who is obviously astute and clearly an England manager - or the manager of one our biggest rivals in the very near future (Getting relegated with Birmingham was just a blip). So who says we have an automatic right to the points against such stellar opposition. And then there is Rafa. Now we all know Rafa is a tactical magician and again he illustrated it last night. I was particularly impressed with the withdrawal of Nando to be replaced with Riera. Rafa is creating a whole new formation and you lot are just too thick to appreciate it. Forget your 4-4-2's. Your 4-5-1. Or even your 4-2-2-1-1. Rafa's preferred formation when you are one nil up is 4-6-0. Inpsired. Almost as inspired as withdrawing the one man that pulls you out of the mire time and time and time again when you concede a late equaliser to give him an extra seven minutes rest. You see football has for many years now been an easy game complicated by idiots. Rafa has shown me that it can be as complicated as chess if you have the right intellectual capacity and I for one think he should be applauded for it. I look forward to next uninspiring draw with a buzz of excitement as Rafa again seeks to show me the error of my ways as he intelligently moves his human pieces around the green chess board and apsires to not getting beaten.
  14. You can use it as evidence of the agreement and ask the court to take account of it and I've seen recent evidence that they will, to an extent, but they will not follow it slavishly. I should say that I don't have experience in big money cases where they are used so maybe it is different in that world. The down side to them is you are trying to determine separation finances many years before hand. Plus kids tends to complicate the divvy up considerably. Also - "Will you marry me - and if you will, sign here"
  15. I have two words for you too - 'not enforceable'
  16. If you stay unmarried all the answers given above are perfectly valid. There is no such legal notion as common law wife. So the property will be presumed to be yours unless she can show a contrary indication and in most cases either direct (mortgage/deposit) or some indirect (I pay the bills so you can pay the mortgage) payments. Marriage changes everything. The concepts of yours and mine get blurred into ours. That changes again significantly if children arrive. Divorce legislation looks at a 'fair' division of 'joint' assets applying the the principles of equality, need and contributions. So the short answer is yes she could make a claim on the house as a wife/ex wife but much more difficult for her to do it as a girlfriend/cohabitee. How much she would get in respect of the former would depend on the circumstances as at separation.
  17. Smart money is on Patterson Joseph apparently Whoever follows Tennant is sadly on a hiding to nothing as (a) he has beaten Tom Baker to the most popular doctor ever (b) The law of diminishing returns. It has been massively popular for the last four years and the only way is down. The media will be waiting for the first wobbly set, unconvincing monster or duff note from Doc Eleven and then pounce I seriously hope I'm wrong as the new Head Honcho (Steven Moffat) deserves to make it a success
  18. Prior to this Christmas I'd never seen it but it had always been on my 'must see' list. Each Xmas when I start to Xmas shop I spot in in the seasonal dvd pile for 14.99 and I think bollocks I'm not paying that. I'll wait till the January sales and pick it up for a fiver but always forget. Till Christmas when I start to shop and it's groundhog day.....again This year I gave up and bought it on amazon. I enjoyed it but it didn't rock my world as I'd hoped/expected it to.
