I've really gone off this programme and Sky's presentation generally. Started last season I suppose with all the piss taking with Thommo and perceived (maybe in my head) bias towards LFC. Le tissier/Stelling/Merson creaming themselves when something went against us. Maybe its flattering in some ways that even though there were 3 teams better than us, LFC still provided super upset material/potential. Soccer Saturday was genuinely groundbreaking when it started and had decent old pros like Marsh, Best & McLintock. The standard of "pundit" today is really shit in comparison and I think maybe the format is becoming stale as every other channel now has their own version of this format . I've made a concious effort this season to only watch the actual match and not any of the hyperbole generated by Richard Keys and co. I know its only been 1 week (2 games last weekend) but I sort of feel cleaner already. I read somewhere (can't remember if it was in a paper or on here) but Keys really went overboard last week trying to "big-up" the Premier League, denegrating the olympic achievements last week end......."this is the biggest game in town" and belittling the FA Cup......"they say the 3rd round is the biggest weekend in the calendar, its not, this is". Rant over, carry on....

Personally I'm glad. Can hopefully concentrate on his own game without all the "England captain" bollox to contend with.

Maybe just my paranioa, but I'm getting the impression in the media today that we are not getting the credit we deserve and Arsenal are getting too much sympathy. Well, seeing as this weekends games are the reverse ones from earlier in the season, of course its a second "Grand Slam Sunday". Its the fact that its happened 2 years in a row you should be worried about.

I don't begrudge Arsenal their win. I did note in my original post that it was a fine win, its just I think when you look at the two performances, they were very similar. Sure, Arsenal were away, but i think Inters quality cancels that out and given the respective form of us and Inter at the time (they hadn;t lost for like 5 months). Its just like I think someone said, the press went to our game to pick over the corpse of Rafas reign and went away hungry and pissed off. You just need to listen and watch the likes of TalkShite and Shite Sports News over the last few weeks that unless LFC are in trouble they have absolutely nothing to talk about! I mean, the day after our 2-0, Durham & Wright's phone in was about the "meaning of life" FFS! Sure, Avram Grant & Chelsea have probably taken the flak these past few weeks in our place, but you just know that after our next defeat around the corner, the vultures are circling overhead ready to swoop. Just does my head in sometimes. Good therapy to have a rant on here though!

Just thinking about the OTT reaction to Arsenals (fine win yes) win over AC last night, compared with the muted begrudging one for our win over Inter. Considering they scored both goals in the last few minutes(like us), I think we've been hard done by. Yes, Arsenals win was the 1st ever by english side in San siro, but compared to Inter, AC Milan are shite. I know its only to be expected from the UK media, just wanted to get this off my chest.

Do you know what type/version of box you have Paul? You can get this info in the SERVICES menu/system details. What size is your hard drive(HD)? It maybe just your HD thats on the way out and they are dead easy to swap out. If its an oldish box that basically works OK, you can put in a huge new drive which will give you all available space for recordings and not just half like all current boxes supplied by SKY. An engineer will simply swap your box for a newer version, not necessarily a better one than you already have.

If thats true then thats even worse. What fucking veto should West Ham have over the PL arranging a fixture. West Ham managed to play the previous and following weekends and I'm sure thay have 30 odd registered in their squad like every other team. i dont really know why Im getting so worked up about this, but it just stinks of something to me and just feeds my "ant-LFC bias" paranoia!!!! For a game postponed from August, thats bloody ridiculous! March? FFS. This game could have been arranged for the mid-week of the Carling Cup semis after both sides were knocked out of the competition in the quarters. Because bloody Setanta want our game against Villa next monday, we are practically losing a whole week for fixtures.

I was always under the impression that we had to win in Marseille end of to qualify as the head to head results came into play before goal diff, so basically we had to get at least a 1 goal victory. I've read and heard on the radio that a draw might be good enough if (unlikely) Besiktas won in Porto. How would this be??? The group would look like this.........
