  1. "I told you to shoot, don't pass to one of your useless team mates!"
  2. whoever said that messi was now #2 to Ronaldo (who will and up at madrid come july) is a joke. he playe a great game as usual tonight, without the cheating, diving, claiming for decisions that were blatently not theirs. unlike some, who go in with intent to break legs (Ronaldo with 2 feet off the ground, Scholes with the "leg breaker" an hour or so in). and chuffed for little 21 year old Pedro Rodriguez from barcelona coming on at 90 mins, love it love it love it cheers to barca, cheers to fair play, cheers to completley playing the scum off the park!
  3. RYAN BABEL could become the first high-profile casualty of Rafael Benitez’s summer shake-up after being told he can leave Liverpool. Babel’s agent Winnie Haatrecht met with the Anfield manager to discuss the player having a more prominent first-team role next season. Benitez, though, was unable to offer such guarantees and has informed the Holland international he may now speak to other clubs during the transfer window. That is likely to spark a chase for Babel, who became the third-most expensive player in Liverpool’s history when arriving for £11.5million from Ajax in July 2007. Liverpool will want to recoup of much as that fee as possible, with Babel likely to command a price tag of around £8m. Ajax, who yesterday appointed Martin Jol as new coach to succeed Marco van Basten, are thought eager to re-sign Babel but could be put off by the asking price and the player’s wages. Babel is also certain to attract interest from Italy and Spain, with Benitez open to the possibility of using the 22-year-old as a makeweight to facilitate a possible big-money transfer. Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Arsenal have all been linked with a summer move for Babel and could make any interest formal. Babel has scored 14 goals in 91 appearances for Liverpool. However, only 42 have been in a starting role – a mere six coming this calendar year – with the Dutchman having completed the full 90 minutes on just 15 occasions. With Benitez needing to generate funds to supplement his existing transfer budget, the Spaniard is keen to swiftly move on those players who no longer form part of his plans. “We have some targets but right now it is too soon because some clubs do not know what the future holds for them but we will wait and see,” said the Liverpool manager. “But our idea is to have players signed before pre-season begins because this would be perfect. “It means you can start working with them and training with them with the ideas that you want to get across to them so that they can start putting them into practice on the pitch.” Benitez also wants to solve the work permit problem for Argentine winger Sebastian Leto, who has spent the last season on loan to Greek club Olympiacos. “We will try to work something out, I do not want him to go,” said the Liverpool manager. The reasons for refusing the permit were his lack of international and club experience. Benitez was critical of that decision, but is likely to sell Leto if the permit is refused once again. im not allowed post the link as that is a privilege only allowed to people of 15+ posts, but its on liverpool daily post .co.uk
  4. The build up to this is making me sick, it started with Ferguson refusing to name check Liverpool when he talks about European Greats who have won it more twice in a row - wanker. The whole "two teams who love the beautiful game" thing is making me ill too - has anybody seen the yard dogs in United's team? They rely on 2 or 3 match winners costing about £60m and that’s it. How I want Barcelona to win tonight, I have butterflies already. Sometimes it feels like I hate United and their cronies more than I love Liverpool (not true but it feels that way sometimes) :(
  5. What did people do for their dissertation? In the year off I've been working on a program which is basically like a shit football manager, but for UFC - you book the fights and I stuck UFC in there etc. I wrote to UFC and they were like blah blah no profit blah blah pictures, and they said it was fine. But it seems sort of excessive, especially when I see my mate with pages of designs and a program that doesn't even work, just makes it look like its working. All the variables that I put in it are fucking stupid, I should just put it down to str/tech/speed, but I put stuff like "good looking" or "grock" in it so you can get a few more PPV buys cause people would rather see them than an average dude. I'm probably gonna put up a site and turn it into e-commerce, talk about the demand for the game/legal issues and stuff, but seems sort of pointless if I can just make some bullshit database up for my uncles company or something.
  6. Clueless as to what all this shite is about but its apparently to do with this "Momo" chap who has been fucked off? Can someone give me a potted history of who and what's wrong with this fella, if they are the same, please. Had two corking, abusive negs within days, for submitting straightforward opinion. Not quite what we want to be paying for and contributing towards; Is it the same person and what's the deal. Getting on my nerves now, the absolute fucking weapon.
  7. Hull fans singing along with Captain Solarium. BBC SPORT | Football | My Club | H | Hull | Hull boss Brown leads the singing If ever anyone needed sacking it was Phil Brown. Had a shit december and then in Jan, Feb, April and May they took only one point in each of those months with only 4 points won in March. If they'd started the season like that they'd have completed the season with a record for the lowest points ever in the top flight. Doesn't belong anywhere near the premiership.
  8. There have been a few treads in praise of womens various body parts. But what of the sexiest part of all - the face. Who doesn't need to take their clothes off, who is simply gorgeous from the neck up. A few contenders Mrs Kaka Adriana Lima Kristen Kreuk Sysckya Porto Aishwarya Rai
  9. Positives: record points haul unbeaten at home best goal difference in the league scored more goals than anyone else beat the big/rich two home and away played some superb attacking football in the last quarter of the campaign took title race to the penultimate match of the season did it all with our best two players in and out of the team Negatives: won nothing shite football for over half a season couldn't kill off weaker sides - especially at home I may have missed a few bits and pieces there, but that seems to sum it all up for me. I'm not sure how to poll this though - whether it should be a score out of ten or a series of "best fit" comments. Both are crude, but I'll go with the score out of ten as people can then express their views in their posts.
  10. going to Rangers for 1.3 million and we have a 50% sell on clause in his contract. add 650k ish to the transfer kitty. xx
  11. okay heres some nominations and feel free to add any i have missed Steve Marlet- joined fulham for 11.5million from Lyon shortly after promotion to the Premier League scoring 11 goals in 54 games costing aprox 950k per goal before having a loan spell at Marseille after which Fulham cancelled his contract and paid him to leave Juan Sebastian Veron- where to start with this guy, as a world superstar cost Man Utd 30 million pounds and the only way to describe him there would be as a flop, to his credit he did show moments off class but so much more is expected of 30million, he then joined Chelsea for a fee of about 18million i think it was, he started of brightly with a goal on his debut but only went on to feature another 13 times for the club before spending several seasons on loan at Inter and leaving on a free Michael Owen- returned to England with Newcastle for 17.5million, 4 seasons, 71 games, 26 goals and a relegation later he is on the verge of leaving for free a shadow of his former self El Hadji Diouf- joined Liverpool for 9million, little did we know when Gerard Houllier said he was great at hitting the target he meant a person was a target with the only ball being involved a ball of phlegm, played on the right wing most of his time at the club scoring a measly 3 league goals in 55 games 2 of which came on his debut before leaving for Bolton for 3.5million Massimo Maccarone- a newly capped Italian International who had set the domestic league alight and had a phenomenal record for the u21s, 9 million sounds a great signing for little Boro, afraid not guys 23 goals in 4 years and he was of back to italy on a free Afonso Alves-pretty much same story as Maccarone only 12million and Brazilian, 10 goals in a season and a half, doesnt sound as bad as others on this list but this guy has been a massive flop Jean Alain Boumsong-8 freeking million for Krusty the clown to play centre back, you guessed it Mr Graeme Souness well my vote goes to Michael Owen, still wouldnt mind him back at Anfield as back up but compared to what he once was and how much he cost he goes down as the biggest disappointment out of these for me
  12. The commentator just said he's reached 50 goals faster than Rush, Owen, Alridge, Fowler, Kenny. Not many are ahead of those surely? Anyone know anywhere there would be a list of this?
  13. any comments on his goal celebration or lack of one!
  14. Phil Brown's suntan deserves to stay up. Here's hoping City survive but I wouldn't be surprised if O'Goblin's side fucks something up. I really believe there's a chance United could get beat today though too, as the KC will probably be a wall of noise getting behind the Tigers, and the team will hopefully be at them from the off. If not though it's gonna be interesting seeing what Wor Toon do. (and M'brough.)
  15. Playing his last game today. Had a pretty good carreer that lad.
  16. Was it such a bad season? Lets say for argument's sake, we beat Spurs 2-0 on Saturday... That would mean we only lost 2 games all season, scored more goals than anyone else, are roughly conceading less than anyone else (if Hull beat the Scum 2-0). So how does that compare to how we would have finished on other years? Well looking at the Premiership alone, this is the 17th season. With 86 points, you'd have won the premiership 7 times. Losing less games than anyone else wins it 13 times. Scoring more goals than anyone else wins it 10 times. Conceading less than anyone else also wins it 7 times. And the last time we won the old first division we only had 79 points. And before you ask, its been won by a team drawing 11 or more times, 5 times. We was robbed!
  17. Finally got some chillout time this afternoon and finally read the last Fanzine and reading the editors columna and then the TLW diary I couldnt help but finding myself agreeing 100% with Dave U who obviously has very similar views to me but is much more elequent in getting those views across and obviously the views were written just after our best two performances of the season. I wonder how Dave feels now because for me he was so close to the mark its unreal. The other pieces about Rafa especially whats going on in the forum were also very good especially the article written by Dan Thomas. You can respect and love Rafa for what he has done but also believe he will never win the title .On reflection I can see that my signature could be found to be offensive by people who see nothing wrong in Rafa so in the spirit of goodwill to all posters I have changed it. Also going through those great goals and thinking back we tend to lose sight of how good a game of football the 2001 UEFA cup final was. Dave also made a very good point and one I share in that our transfer business last summer had a very negative impact on our season and even though Rafa had been negative if we had two world class wingers we would have won games in spite of Rafa’s tactics. Anyway the manager has my full support going into next season as he should even though I remain to be convinced that we will ever win the title with him as manager but as I said after the West Ham game it is time to look forward, learn our lessons and hopefully do some decent transfer business and challenge again next season. For those going on to the Spurs game give Sami a hug for me.

  19. I've always maintained that Valencia is a little above average but having seen much more of him he does look a very good player who is used to performing in this league. Given that both players would cost about the same (£20m) shouldn't we be going for Antonio Valencia? Or is the Silva signing more about Rafa seeing left midfield as the problem area?
