  1. I've often wondered about the differing standards given to the attacking and defending sides in the box. Would the only way to balance the decisions be to outlaw any physical contact in the box? A mad concept, but after watching Salah get endlessly battered about in the box without any action you lose hope.
  2. I think so too. I'm sure the management are aware of how much Thiago's recent purple patch has raised our game lately. Another similar MF is the only thing that can raise our game. Every other area/position is as good as it gets.
  3. The positive responses to that video, and others with him in it make me fear that the standards of punditry may plummet even further, should TV producers think that this dumbed-down banter is what the man in the streets is after. Grim.
  4. I'm sure he means our Pep, but I reckon Baldie would jump at the chance to manage us should Jurgen leave.
  5. I agree with this. Might it be that he moves inside to do Firmino's role, and Diaz or Jota covers the left?
  6. It was also a lovely sly dig at Pep Guardiola and all his shitty club stands for. Utterly magic.
  7. So proud of him for having a pop, and mentioning 'human rights'. What a fucking bloke.
  8. Hopefully, some of our lads are a bit enthusiastic in the tackle. If he plays a strong side against us it will be the same players who will be getting into the side for their final. Give them something to think about.
  9. If Mo wants to leave I would like us to sign that young Lautaro Martinez fella from Inter. From what I've seen of him through my scarlet-tinted glasses he made me think he could play like Suarez. Martin Odegaard who is angling to leave Real Madrid might make a decent alternative to Bobby.
  10. 'Cereal' semi-final failure specialist: Only Going SoFar?
  11. Looking back on the St Pauli game I think I spent most of my time trying to get my head around hipster, left-leaning types going all-out agro and climbing up the fences. Well worth visiting, and Hamburg is a great city.
  12. I went to a St Pauli game in 2012. I was working in Hamburg on an Abercrombie and Fitch store fit-out. The Sunday shift was quiet and I sloped off to the game. On the tram (I think) on the way there, a lad had a sign asking for tickets. He soon got one and I asked him for the sign. I was immediately offered a ticket and the sellers took me under their wing. They took me to their clubhouse for a few beers and then onto the stand. St Pauli were playing Energie Cottbuss. The St Pauli lads told me there was needle between their club and clubs from the old East Germany due to the fascist fans that cling to the Eastern sides. I was also lucky enough to watch the reds play in a pre-season friendly in Hamburg in the late-80s. Though we got beat 1-0 I was only a few seats away from Sam Fox who had performed 'Touch Me' before the game. I think she landed on the Pitch in a British Army helicopter.
  13. What will happen to the vast sums they will recoup from any player sales? These players were bought with fiddled money. Will this money offset any future FFP accounts?
  14. He's right. The game has changed, and I think Ourselves and Man City have evolved the fastest.
  15. It must be hard for Klopp to out-think both Mourinho and Atkinson. This is a nervy watch.
  16. I wonder if we had a buy-back clause installed on the Danny Ings sale? He's been great - the player that our scouts knew would be a cracker if he hadn't got the injuries.
