  1. Just made myself a lovely brew to go with my lunch at work, puts the milk in and it's all gone sour! Lumps everywhere. Bastards. Not only has my tea been ruined, I now have to hike it to the shops for a fresh pint.
  2. Off topic but one of the replies to that John07 tit regarding Hillsborough is quite good especially this bit: " The failure was not the decision to open the exit gate but not to manage the consequences of that decision e.g. by notifying relevant police and security personnel and making arrangements to disperse the fans once they had entered the ground. There was no crushing or even overcrowding in the area between the turnstiles and the stand, and people were able to move about freely in this area throughout. All police had to do was do exactly what their predecessors did in 1981 and 1988, namely close the entrances to overcrowded pens and direct fans to the quieter entrances. No one did this because, shockingly, no one noticed that an influx of people into the ground would cause crushing in the overcrowded central pens - the connection just wasn't made until people were already dying. Signage was also dreadful meaning that the tunnel leading to the overcrowded central pens was the only obvious entrance to the terraces. There was never an excess of fans in the Leppings Lane End as a whole, they were just badly dispersed, so ticketlessness isn't really relevant either. This wasn't a series of tough decisions that went the wrong way, it was a series of elementary failures in crowd management, personnel coordination and decision making." As someone who was there, I've been saying this for 30 years.
  3. Fuck what City do, we win 12 games out of the next 17 we win the league no matter what they do. We just need to focus on what we do.
  4. I like Gardiner and if he was going for deputy leader, I would probably vote for him. As it is, it's Starmer & Raynor for me too.
  5. I went to both of those ties. I've never felt as sick at a match as I did when Darren Anderton put them 1-0 up at Highbury. The celebrations in the North Stand when we equalised though were fucking mad. It wasn't until about an hour after the game that I found out Ronnie Whelan had scored. I thought the free kick from Barnes had gone straight in. The replay was just dire.
  6. Lallana's little dummy and turn in the first half to send Sigurdsson for the Echo was a joy to behold.
  7. Phillips is the weak link at the back there, looks out of his depth.
  8. Mike Riley and the PGMOL made the decision for the on-field referee to not look at the pitch side monitors at the start of the season.
  9. In laws have just given me a bottle of Lamb's Navy Rum for the 3rd Christmas in a row. I know I shouldn't complain about a gift but a little variety wouldn't go amiss.
  10. Get the fuck in!!!! I've waited nearly 40 years for us to be World Champions and I'm going to enjoy it. Get that badge on our sleeves!!
  11. This is the global temperature map for yesterday. Australia looks like it's on fire!
  12. Come on A Red, SD will rep you for life if you vote Lib Dem.
  13. Was disappointed after we scored that we didn't go more at them to get the winner. Loss or draw didn't matter so we should have just stuck Virg up front for the last 15 and hit balls into him to knock down.
  14. Bloody hell, that legends match is practically a sell out.
  15. Turnout will decide this election, especially of the under 25s. All the polls are weighted with the assumption that the young don’t vote. If they do, and in big numbers, the polls will be turned on their heads. Fingers crossed that the number of new registrations since the call of the election means that might just happen.
  16. He’s definitely going to be banned for being a secret kopite
  17. Took my daughters to the Liverpool Women's game yesterday. Was really good fun, fairly decent standard of football and Liverpool were unlucky to lose. Loads of kids there and at the end the players and staff came over to the Kemlyn to give out scarves, autographs and take selfies. My girls had a really good time and I wouldn't hesitate to take them if they play at Anfield again.
  18. This is the key to the election, getting the young vote out there. I do find it hard to believe that only 10% of 18-24 year olds will vote however. From my own limited experience here in the University, the level of interest in the election among the students is pretty high. Coupled with the amount of new registrations since the election was called, I think a 10pt Tory lead may be a tad misleading (fingers crossed).
  19. Absolutely, and this is now the time when we have to take advantage. Beat the teams we should be beating and hope some of the better sides take points off City.
