  1. The idea of relying on Sturridge staying fit is not one a side with eyes on winning the league should be entertaining in my opinion.
  2. For me it is short sighted to not look to get someone in better than the shower of shite that is Sturridge, Origi, Solanke and Ings as forward cover. OK Shaqiri offers reasonable cover in terms of playing wide in our front 3 and that is better than asking Origi, Sturridge et al to play wide in a 3 as they are always shite at it...but the cover for the central spot is woefully inadequate and without improving it we are taking a risk. If Firmino gets injured or when he needs a rest the drop off in quality is huge and the suitability to how we want to play (pressing from front etc) is just not there.....and that is without factoring in how unreliable Sturridge and Ings are fitness wise. We really should look to jib shite like Stirridge, Ings, Origi and use whatever money we can get to buy a forward who can provide reliable cover and loan Solanke out to see if there is any hope for him.

  5. Steve0 is either criminally insane or the greatest troll in interweb history.
  6. Can't be arsed to look back to see if this has already been posted but i found it a fascinating read. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44875174
  7. In addition to what you say one of the biggest problems is how ridculously random and unorganised the queuing/logging on system is too and how it behaves. There are 4 of us who have our cards linked and we all logged on at dead on 815.....obviously the whole thing was fucked at the start but as it finally spluttered into life over the next 20 mins- half hour the system behaved in it's usual random, unpredictable and unsatisfcatory manner. One of our 4 got on and the estimated wait time was showing as 'over an hour'.....3 hrs plus actual time later it still said same...he never got to selection page. Another of our 4 got in with a mere 'estimated' 20 mins wait time only for the system to chuck him off with an error when he got through to game/ticket selection before letting him back in again but with an 'over an hour wait'....he never got to selection page 3rd lad - got the over an hour but never got in amd jibbed it after 2 hrs of actual time. Fortunately i got in after an initial 'over an hour' wait miraculously suddenly dropped from 40 to 20 to in within about 15 mins of the 'over an hour' I managed to get a ticket for each of us for 4 games...West Ham, Brighton, Cardiff and Fulham - all games all 4 together total price an eye watering £732....£183 each...2 of the games in The Kop 2 in the Main Stand Upper. There seems to be no actual logic - it is a lottery....system does not tell you where you are in queue and often the times shown as estimated wait times bear no relation to what actually happens. Often whem in too it lets you select seats only to then say they are not available - or tickets suddenly appear that were not available only to vanish again. I appreciate some of that is down to things like people putting tickets in basket they aren't qualified for - but the system should be 'clever' enough to not allow that....I also know people will put tickets in basket and then not complete payment and that is not clubs fault to be fair...but it also often kicks you out when checking out - it is unreliable, clunky, clearly not robust enough for demand and lacking in certain things that would make the experience better. But the club don't care because they sell out regardless and we are mugs who will happily sit and wait and keep trying to log in when it crashes, etc... Another thing is the system also does not allow you in to manage account when sales are on to do things like link cards, update address etc - well it does but you have to join same queue as for buying and we all know most people don't get through - surely the could have that function working. It is a fucking shambles.
  8. I prefer the photie where he is cowering on the deck.
  9. They had a good number of key men go the distance in the world cup - reckon that will have an impact.
  10. A trophy of any sort would be good....we are in possibly our longest drought now for what 50 years plus...?
  11. I'd like to think that we could improve on what we have with 30m Not advocating a mega bucks striker - we don't need one but we do need better in reserve/to come in and do a job when needed than broken down has beens, kids with zero experience or goals and Origi.
  12. Hmmm a 17 year old kid who is currently a month away from even being able to run! We surely need more than that....add in Markovic being sold and surely we can raise 30m from the deadwood to invest in a forward. Wouldn't even mind if it is an older player just for a season or two until Brewster or even Solanke (if he could prove it out on loan somewhere) are ready.
  13. Would say we still need a forward...i find it hard to believe that we think the shithsow that is Origi, Ings, Solanke and Sturridge contains the answer in terms of cover and back up to Bobby. Jib that shower and get in someone reliable who can offer us good cover....yes Shaqiri may be decent cover for Salah/Mane but we have nothing up to scratch for the central role in our 3.
  14. Feeling excited but nervous. The problem I feel we face is the weight of expectation and the hysteria that explodes as soon as we get close to something and then the recent history of imploding at the crucial time and crumbling under the pressure.....it weighs everybody down and suffocates us - how we break it i don't know...but it is a massive problem. Obviously winning something would be the start of it. The spotlight is going to shine brightly on us this season - withstanding it is gonna be the test, signing world record keepers brings that spotlight and brings that expectation. Time to step up - if we don't the glare from that spotlight will get harsher and harsher. Do we have big enough men to stand up and deliver...let's hope so.
  15. Because in a side who's style is very much about intensity and running a player who misses 16 months of competitive first team football is going to find it very, very hard to come back and be up to the levels required....it is a big ask made even bigger by the demands playing how we play bring...there aren't many players who miss that kind of amount of football at the very top level who come back at the level a very top club need them to be at. I hope I am wrong and he comes back and is boss and I am a fan of the lad - but I stand by what i said.
  16. Terrible news - had really warmed to the lad. Seems a very long time and if it as said and he misses all this coming season then effectively he probably won't play a competitive game for us for about 16 months. Sadly i think it is the end of his career here.
  17. Our worst performances and results last season mainly came when players our front 3 were fucked - either from being rushed back from international shite on private planes and thrown into action jaded or when we were balls deep in 3 game weeks and again jaded players struggled or we fielded sub standard replacements for them. We know we can't rely on Sturridge we know the rest are deeply mediocre so surely we have to act. I suppose Shaqiri might be a step forward for the wider berths but for the central role we need cover...we also need to stop asking sub standard centre forwards to do the wide job...Origi was shite and criticised v Bury at weekend but he was stuck out in a position he simply isn't suited to.
  18. We're gonna fall for it again aren't we and then when he is fucked and we have literally no other decent cover..... https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/307495-daniel-sturridge-liverpool-future
  19. Ah so slapping the money on the table is only a good thing when they are fantasising about doing it.
  20. Let in more goals in one game at Anfield than Everton let in v De Redshite in 3 games last season will almost certainly get a mention. As will 'speedy winger'....'debt'....and 'being fucked'
  21. We still have the medical card left to play....
  22. Bert Moron is just kept around to hang around with Firmino isn't he!
