  1. Jesus christ. I don't know what you expect from our owners, but it is funny that because we don't get dempsey all of you are acting like clowns. We have owners who don't wanna be like City, Chelsea, PSG and so on, but will respect the rules they thought would be punished if broken by now. That is not they're fault. That is unfortunately UEFA who is wankers and cannot apply the rule before it ruins football totally... Of course they don't wanna pay more for Dempsey. If a friend wants to sell you something, but ask more for it from you, than from any other, just because he doesnt like you, would you pay more, or say go fuck yourself? They were pissing on us, and we shouldn't give in to that. It was bad that we hadn't a plan b, but that is the only thing you can criticize imo. We all know how much the owners had to fix, and especially after the huge transfer fuck ups they made under KD, and Comolli. Its like starting over again, and when you have a limited budget it is tough. The reason people complain is because we are not spending, but people are forgetting that we have spent a shitload of money, while having a huge wage bill. Just because we have cut a lot of that huge wage bill, doesn't mean that we need to get a huge wage bill again, when we actually cannot afford it does it? I am frustrated by the results and by the lacking of transfers, but clearly the owners had a lot on their hands when they took over the club, and they didn't help themselves with all of their own transfers. At least they are doing something, they have a vision and clearly cares for the club, and wants to go forward, but wants to do it on their terms wich you really can't argue against. Bottom line is, i like the owners, but it is frustrating that they had a huge mess to clean up this summer, so we couldn't spend much on a squad that really needs improving, and it is especially frustrating when you see how much our rivals spend.
  2. I think all 3 in the center midfield have been brilliant, and i can't single out one of them. They make good decisions, and doesnt throw the ball away like last weekend. They are all over Citys midfield, and is totally dominating. Hope Borini will get a goal in 2nd half. I have a feeling that if he gets it going he will be a 15+ goalscorer for us this season. He looks like a good finisher, and has an ability to find the right spots in the penalty area.
  3. Deffo not a wide player. He is an allround midfielder. No real weaknesses, and is very good with the ball.
  4. Yeah because we have enough depth to cover 4 midfielders leaving... Spearing is gone i guess, and Shelvey will be loaned out if we cannot offload Adam for a decent price. Either way if we just offload Spearing and get Sahin we have a great midfield, with great options on the bench. Not that i have anything against Spearing, but lets face it. He is not a good enough holding midfielder for a top side. Love his attitude and wish him the best if he is leaving.
  5. I just wish for once we would use Pacheco, and Suso with the first team, so we can see how good they actually are, since everybody agrees on they have looked good whenever we have seen them. I will feel so sick if they leave without haven got a chance, and then end up in a top club in a few years, because clearly they both have potential.
  6. If we are not at least in the race for him, Brendan Rodgers is a moron. Adam Johnson is quality, and would be a key player for us for sure. £10m is a BARGAIN for a player like him.
  7. Yeah about making early predictions. I remember ALOT of people that thought Arsenal would be a mid table team MAX, after their poor start and 6-2 defeat vs scums. Just stop it. It was one game. Lets bounce back with some points vs City
  8. I don't wanna read every single post, in this thread since i can almost imagine how it is anyway. My opinion of the match, was that we started great, created several good opportunities, and had great variation in our play. Our central midfield looked good, and except Downing, i think the first 20 minutes our offence looked sharp, and we should have been at least a goal up. From around 20 mins or so we lost tempo, lost the ball very quickly and failed to make even simple passes. We made it easy for WBA to defend, and we were lacking ideas in the final third. Then Gera hit that wonderstrike wich goes in like 2/100 times, and so poor timing. Just before the break, where we could have adjust to there defence, but now we have a mountain to climb. WBA is not a bad football team, especially not defensively. So obv it was going to be difficult. Again we started good. Had good pace in our attack, looked lively, and we created something. But then we get a stupid red card, get two stupid penalties, and then ofc you lose. You can't expect to win games when you make these mistakes. We were clearly the better team 11 v 11, but after the red card and 2-0 it was just embarrasing. Nothing much more to say really. Suarez needs to scorer on some of those many chances he gets, or else we will never win any games, and our defence needs to make less mistakes. Our midfield looked dominating as expected, and Borini, and Suarez created lots of problems for WBA.
  9. Am i the only one who doesn't even want him if he really prefers Arsenal over us? I only want players who REALLY want to play for us, and is looking forward to it.
  10. Wilson have never played CB for us(with the first team that is), and was regarded as the biggest talent at cb in scotland when we signed him. I agree he have played poorly at left back, but as a 4th cb he is good enough imo. He needs games too, if we want him to develop. I wouldn't mind Coates/Carragher play half the games in this season, so Coates can step up next season as a regular. Coates for me has looked excellent, and i am excited to see how good he will be in the future. Again the quality/depth at CB is much better than our offensive part of the team. We need players who can actually create, and score goals, and there is too few of them in the team at the moment. That is just my opinion ofc.
  11. I dont care if we sell Agger, or not. Now it is going to be a Win/Win situation for us. At the moment we have Skrtel, Agger, Carragher, Wilson, and Coates. We have decent youngsters, and even Kelly that can play who's favourable position is cb. Indeed Agger is our best cb, but we are so strong in that area, and +20m for an injury prone cb who soon turns 28 is very very good business. I would not cry over the loss of Agger, but he is in my opinion one of the best centerbacks in the game, but as said before, we can be unlucky and lose him for half a season, and we badly need QUALITY in other areas. If he didn't have that bad history with injuries the choice would be easy. Then i would keep him, but it is the fear that we lose him to a silly back injury one more time, that makes the choice difficult.
  12. If we had the same kind of cash that we had last summer, it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but since we have limited cash to spend, we need to use it on players who definately will improve our best 11, and in areas where we need the most. Our midfield wasn't that bad last season. And still we have 2 players who will be like new signings in Aquilani and Lucas. A midfield consisting of Gerrard, Aquilani/Henderson and Lucas with Spearing, Shelvey, and Adam as backups wouldn't be bad imo. I am sure it is not going to happen, but i wouldn't mind it if the our transfer money could be spent on at least one wing.
  13. I agree. We simply have way to many players for 3 positions(if we say we play 4-3-3). We have: Adam, Gerrard, Shelvey, Henderson(could play on the side though, but is best central) Lucas, Spearing, Suso(Who i also would like to see get a run in the first team) Aquilani.(Embarassing if i missed any) If we sign Joe Allen it will be 9, for 3 positions. So yeah, i guess at least 2 will be going out if we sign Allen. But i don't get the idea of signing Allen if we sell a guy like Aquilani. Then i think money would be better spend elsewhere.
  14. Just because he isn't a youngster doesn't mean he can't develop. Remember he had no experience of being in a club at Liverpools level, and have been playing more deeper than he has been used to in Blackpool. Adam has some very good qualities we easily could use, but we have to use him in the right way. Give him a more free role, and guide him to make the right decisions more of the time. If he first get that right he can be a good playmaker for us, and provide plenty of goals and assist, regardless of his lack of pace.
  15. I will never get the maths of our transfers... I see Chelsea get Hazard for something around £32m who is one of the most gifted young talents out there, who has several great seasons at a top french club and almost 200 caps at highest level already. We are being linked to Joe Allen, for £15m. A player who just proved himself in a decent Swansea side, and would obv, be a decent player who potentially be a good signing. But i honestly believe there should be more than £17m apart from Hazard to Allen. Whether it is us who is being cheated, or Hazard was a bargain, i don't know but it doesnt make any sense. All supporters want us to splash some cash around, but why waste £15m on Allen just because he have had one good season? He has not proven anything yet, and worst case is he will be an expensive squad player. We need key players, who can improve. Not boom or bust signings, who always have a tendency to fucking bust at our club. And this is not meant to be a rage post, because i actually think Joe Allen can be a good player, and would love to see him at our club, but i don't see how he can be worth £15m. Not by playing one good season for Swansea.
  16. Haha. Can ANYONE tell me the logic in having such an agreement if Swansea themselves can terminate it? Its not like you can get a player without the club accepting the bid first (unless ofc the player is out of contract)
  17. Brad Jones + Doni > Ross Turnbull. Seriously though, it is tough to get a keeper better than our reserves to be backups for sure, because we can't attract keepers that are better than Reina at the moment. Not that i think we should either. Reina has had a bad season and his reaction after the save today tells me that he knows that. Reina is a world class keeper and has been that for a lot of seasons now, and you just don't lose that over a year. Cech is a good example of exactly that. He have been average for 2 seasons only to be brilliant in this.
  18. Shelvey gave the ball away too often, and is not as good defensively as Henderson. As i said before, Henderson have all the abillities to become a very good footballer, he just need to use them more.
  19. Shouldn't Carra haters come out of the bushes? I mean, i know he is not world class anylonger, but people who think he is over the hill, need to watch this match. Because if Terry is England captain and one of the best defenders in this country, Carragher can definately be a solid backup for next season. He is neither as slow, or clumsy, and just owned Torres for a full 90 minutes. Fair enough to give him shit when he plays like it, but nobody expects him to be a regular. I think he would be a great 3rd/4th choice at least for next season.
  20. Why don't you have faith in that? I think it is quite obvious the chance of him delivering performances like the last few months, is good. He looks like a guy who finally have some confidence, and have been in good shape. He looks willing to fight, and it is like the fans appreciation of him have motivated him to keep on going. He has been consistent for the last few months. He needs to develop(as every young player needs) but he finally looks comfortable up front and have done it for some time now.
  21. This. I totally agree. People are blinded by the fact that he had a good run at the end of last season, but when he have played this season he have mostly been shit, and anonymous. He haven't gotten a decent run in the team, but when he have played he almost always run out of fuel in the beginning of 2nd half, and he never works defensively. But fair play to him. He never complains, and have always given his best for this club, and therefore he also deserves the best of luck.
  22. This. Couldn't agree more. Henderson was great tonight. He worked his ass off, made some good tackles, good runs, and almost never lost the ball. I was actually surprised how good he was defensive.
  23. Oh my fucking god. So tell me. How will you address it? Bench him for Doni, or Brad Jones? Because thats the only thing i can think of other than selling him. I am not ignoring any facts here. If we were able to get a better goalkeeper i would say "Bye Pepe!" but the FACTS is that he has been a very good keeper for a long time, and is now having a down period as the rest of the team. Not that it is good enough, but 1: I still believe Pepe is a world class keeper because goalkeepers don't lose class over one season. 2: Name one keeper that has proven to be better than Pepe, that we have a reasonable chance of getting. I think that if we lost Pepe we would have a good chance of saying "why did we let him go".
