  1. It pains me to say it but I think Kenny is now a spent force - the unforgivable ransacking of 'Fortress Anfield' by all and sundry is reason enough for Kenny to be given his marching orders, albeit with our gratitude for helping us out in a moment of dire need! Maybe an ambassadorial role for the club should be his future role form now. I'd love to have RAFA back, but believe that FSG will have their own plans, and that we'll probably know more about them soon enough. It pains me to say it, but I think we'd almost certainly be in a top-four league position had we taken someone like Martin O'Neil....although I don't think he'd be right for us now. We have some very good players, as well as some very average players....but we can't seem to ever get them playing at a consistently good level. We need a new direction....and a new manager!
  2. It pains me to say this but I have serious doubts about him as our keeper going forward! He is just absolutely useless at corners, and I have no confidence in him ever trying to reach any ball coming over. It maybe that he has no confidence, and that's why he's so crap at it.........It maybe that he only 'shines' when he has a decent central midfield pair in front of him, but either way we need someone better!
  3. Not sure about this......as how come ManU always manage to 'distance' (ie out of premier league) all of their high profile sales?
  4. The news of Torres wanting away, in a similar way to Michael Owen and Steve McManaman before.....provides a sad reflection on the sea-change trend of player's allegiencies to clubs, since the time when I started supporting LFC. Then, the Ian Callaghan, Roger Hunts's and Tommy Smith's of this world were indeed 'one team' players.......and the support truly reflected the club, albeit somewhat tribal at times. The players earned only slightly more than normal people, and dare I say it....actually 'understood' the supporters. Now of course, the game is populated with 'mercenary' professionals, with their ultra-high egos, ridiculous salaries and pampered lifestyles......and the chasm between them and the supporters is immense. I was disgusted with the selfishness of Steve McManamen's exit........then dismayed with Michael Owen's lies and opinion that he was just 'bigger' than this club...........but Stevie Gerrard's decision to stay after being courted by the moneyed billionaire clubs gave me some hope! Unfortunately, and perhaps inevitably, this was only a short reprise. I come from Liverpool....my heart's in Liverpool....and I 'loved' everything about the teams of the 60's, 70's and 80's.....However I can't now identify with any of today's team other than the players who have grown up here.........and whilst Chelsea, Arsenal and ManU have learned to live with teams that have no local players at all.....it gives me no pleasure to say that I can't, and I don't see any escape from this trend. It is now a moneyed game, and a club's success is a thing to be bought and traded.......fans are important but secondary......and football is lesser a game than it is business! My only hope.......and it's a slim one indeed.......is that Kenny Dalglish, who I respect immensely, and consider him to be one of the last LFC players who actually 'is' LFC through-and-through, can inspire something that will be a credit to our club again........and re-establish The Liverpool Way. (ps....If Torres thinks he's bigger than LFC, then just sell him at end of season to highest bidder abroad!)
  5. respect at the start ....but despair at the end!....(his later signings were just crazy!)
  6. not as good as this one http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=bjD-ks6cvNY
  7. Ty the Tasmanian Tiger He's just an australian legend
  8. It seems to me that the 80,000 figure might be a tactical ploy - a first offer - in order to allow the Council to say hold on, far too much....and then a compromise of 70,000 is agreed - to the satisfaction of all!
  9. agree mostly..... I think Stevie G needs a goal to get him going again!
  10. Couldn't agree more......it was particularly painful to hear that dirty Alan Shearer talk about 'madness on the pitch'..........especially so in the light of his own 'mad' incidents! 8)
