  1. Have we one with the 'case for' left? I'd like to apologise to all those who asked for this back in early September, I thought your love for Rafa, the inflluence of H+G and the teething issues of a new manager might be a consideration. These things have all evaporated and all we have left in front of us is the stark truth which is the clearest cut case there's been at this club. Regardless of any 'Liverpool Way' I argued that Souness should go because we were in danger of becoming a mid table club in the early 90's, glory days now. One less ticket for Naples Airport.
  2. First bit sounds like Roy Second bit is totally irrelevant except for the fact that no South American has ever been a successful PL manager, including Scolari I like the second bit but at the moment I'd take ugly Gamble, similiar to Unai Emery, might pay off, might not
  3. We cannot gamble at all, big names that are unproven in this league are a gamble, remember Gullit, Ramos, Scolari. I'm worried that there's no-one out there that fits the bill at this moment and that in that case KD is the only game in town for now. I know that Coyle and one or two others would be better than what we have but they're not proven that they have what we need to satisfy us and NESV in the long run, that's gambling.
  4. After Birmingham I argued for time, we've had time
  5. Significantly better than Poulsen yes, but not necessarily good enough for us. That says a lot about Poulsen really. You could tell Poulsen would be bad from his hairband. Momo used to run round making tackles yes but then usually gave the ball back hence the need to run around even more, sort of energetic but pointless. I'm sure there's someone that can have a go at that position, even Jamie in his old position could not do worse. I'd be interested to see whether Agger in front of a back two just as I'd be keen to see whether Johnson could play right midfield.
  6. Professional journalism Sky Same sentence Unlikely
  7. And..... Ironically the last game Liverpool played before the tumours moved in was... Everton Their first game in ownership was a 2-1 defeat I love symmetry
  8. Athens to Blackpool, they spent three years fucking this club up, seems like a decade. I'd like to suggest we use our spare hours over the next three years hounding those bastards and their offspring relentlessly in their lives and business interests so that they know what it feels like to be screwed over. Any sports club they've still got their hands on needs to be supported. Especially the big fat texan and tom jnr, especially for the touching e-mail and the way he tried to cling on when all was lost so he could screw us for more.
  9. Lot of good points, plenty of shit ones, terrible timing, mistake in that it is the greedy bastards outside football that have caused the main problems with this club, Moores, Hicks, Gillett etc and their greed are parasites that thrive on ordinary fans (or those that can still afford it). Being northern doesn't give you any credibility in itself.
  10. And make sure you listen all the way to the end otherwise you'll miss the point. I think "One of these days" off the same album (Meddle) would (hopefully) be a good farewell message to big Tom, again you've got to wait for the bit of lyrics to the end, and of course this would be in a nice way.
  11. Quick research of stock values, by my reckoning FBR capital is worth no more than $288m probably a lot less, you know what that means. They haven't got the readies to pay cash. They are promising c£650m and they're only worth £150m or less. We all know what that means, they're stooges or leverage buyers. Yet again, not real, not credible. As for Hicks and the Texans, complete slippery desperate bastards, no doubt has the judge (and the sheriff and deputy) in his oily greasy fat lined pocket.
  12. I'm giving up football, boring, predictable and we lose too often, going for legal cases and financial matters, much more exciting, good crowd atmosphere, reliable defence, sound tactics, solid teamwork and that long forgotten winning feeling, better referees as well. Shame the players get paid so much (no difference there then) Yanked out by Yanks
  13. You bastard, that's not funny, there's people here with high blood pressure (it is funny, but its all about timing I suppose)
  14. I'm not the first one to say this one but Unai Emery, keep your eyes on this name a he's done well with three clubs yet but has not hit the spotlight as yet. Not proven but potential appears to be there and yes, young.
  15. Not till hell freezes over will I wish for a defeat against Everton, get real
  16. Don't believe everything you read, partly because Journalists are often ill informed and anyway like to create sensational headlines to sell rags, partly because in business deals like this posturing and smokescreens, sometimes though the media, are part of the bargaining process. Read between the lines carefully and choose the sources you believe well.
  17. I seriously think they are next up, I can see Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea and Ironically City finishing above them this year (not us obviously). If Rooney's use of his groin and sleeping on the couch mean a loss of form they haven't got that much up their sleeve, Berbotov will soon get sick of trying, the mexican looks good but too early to be dependent on and Owen has a fixed clinic appointment now. Giggs and Scholes will run out of steam and Valencia, key since Ronaldo went is out for some time. They are scraping by at the moment but losing out on the CL would be a massive blow (as we well know) for money and player attracting. With Siralex nearing his heart attack we could be looking at them edging towards a taller cliff than we just fell over.
  18. We could ask Everton to lend us Goodison for a year on the days off while we do our ground up. (That's a joke by the way before you start with abusive replies, not funny I admit but it would be funny just to raise with bluenoses just to see their faces go red for a minute)
  19. Well written, well thought and important, send to Mr Hodgson and now Mr Henry. The City performance might have been seen as a flash in the pan early blip and I advocated giving the man some time to see if he changed things round, since then we seem to be sticking firm (just as Rafa was prone to do) when many of those who see the play can observe it is not working or appropriate. Buying a lumbering big CF to hold up for sharp striker was great in the days of Toshack/Keegan but very few top clubs in europe now get by using these means (Drugba is a special case because he's a two in one). With the appropriate players things would improve but not necessarily to watch and probably not to the extreme that we would expect at a club like Liverpool. He may re-evaluate, he may get lucky but if it continues his days will become numbered soon, these guys may look nice but they value success over failure and mediocrity. A Everton A Napoli H Blackburn A Bolton H Napoli H Chelsea Losing to Everton, regardless of performance will be deemed unnaceptable, away to Napoli won't tell us much, a defence minded approach at home to blackburn who themselves set their play up in this style would be depressing to say the least. Away to Bolton and Kevin Davies could be an embarrassment and at Home to Chelsea we might at last get to see it work and we get a draw.
  20. And in the PL this season we've played 5 'British' players, in the same time City have played 7, United 9 and Spurs 10.
  21. Come on, are you saying as a lawyer that your fellow professionals are really that slimy, we've had enough with leverage financiars.
