  1. That nail didn't hit the head. When we had to play 2 in 3 days in 2001, Houllier went ballistic, and he had a case then. In an already-crowded fixture list, we had to play Wycombe in the cup, then Ipswich in the league. Now, we have 4 games in a month when some teams have 7 or 8, and we still have the temerity to complain. The mancs had to deal with playing twice in 3 days last round, and if they can do it then, so can we now.
  2. He's done a lot in the past 4 years. It's sad that it's not appreciated. He'll be there for 2014, he has more to do, and is on a personal mission to correct what happened in the last World Cup campaign.
  3. It's a squad of limited ability in the world game, but it has achieved several feats this year. But we hoof the ball a bit, and that's more important to some people. For 70-80 years, we played neat, passing football, and it got us nowhere. No other coach would have got this team to a qualifying tournament. Not even Paul Jewell.
  4. 25 goals in 13 games in 2011, 19 scored in this qualifying campaign, with one game to go. I think what is more worrying is our mate Ronnie claiming we were getting "overrun", by a 10-man team getting a free kick and a corner. Now which is better? Donetsk or Kharkov??
  5. When Kenny was coach last time, we had to play 2 games in 3 days several times a year, indeed he was used to playing them here himself. All the extra rest on European weeks this year has made sfa difference to us. 5 points out of 12. Twice this year we have to play 2 games in 3 days, it should be something full-time, highly cosseted, professional footballers on phone number figure salaries are able to do without quibble. 15 DAYS between the last game and the next game for some of them, then another WEEK after that. If our players get any more rest this year, they won't get out of bed.
  6. It's Sky shafting us, nobody else. In any case though, we have 4 games to play this month, some clubs have nearly double that. Our fixture list isn't exactly stuffed with games this year, we should be able to go down there and put up a competiitve performance whenever it's on.
  7. Two 2-0 wins for us, imo. A 4-0 win won't stop the pundits tearing into Trap though, despite qualifying for our first tournament in 10 years.
  8. 4-4-2 has us playing more attacking football, creating more chances, and allows someone to support Suarez. Unfortunately, that someone is Andy Carroll who has nothing to offer at this club. Kenny has played different systems here. He started out with a 3-5-2 remember, we've played 4-3-3 also. While 4-5-1 had us finishing 7th in the league. There is however no excuse for why we can't beat Sunderland, Swansea, and Norwich at home. They should be routine 3 points everytime.
  9. It's not an obsession, it's because we can't attract anyone better. Why? Because the "harsh fact" is we're not in Europe, and no decent player wants to play for a team that's not in Europe. Luis Suarez doesn't want to be sitting on the sofa watching his former club play in Europe every week for the rest of his career. He wants to be playing it for us, and if he doesn't get it, he'll be off. Here's another "harsh fact": Of the free weeks we have to "concentrate" on the league this year, we've collected 5 points from 12 available, 2 of them from home games against promoted upstarts. The "compensation" for no European football is 4 Saturday games pre-December at 3pm. Meanwhile the team that plays Thursday-Sunday, are ahead of us with games in hand. This Liverpool team now reminds me of how we were 93/94. No European football, top early on, then drawing with Swindon, losing to Bristol City, and ending the season as an also-ran in the table. Depressing stuff then, and it's depressing now. Kenny has to work with what he has. And what we do have struggles to compete with Spurs, let alone the oligarchs. We can't buy Juan Mata when he has to spend all week preparing to play Swansea at home, instead of playing Shakhtar or Salonika. If you're not in Europe, you're invisible. We have the money, but not the clout atm, and are sliding back into mediocrity again, aiming to be just the 4th best team in the league instead of the first. We were bad today, and we got worse as the game went on. At home to a bunch of Welsh ragballers. It's very sad to see.
  10. The BBC?? This is a tyrant who at times, won't even speak to his own club's tv channel!! He flung a boot once at one of his players who dared stand up to him, then sacked him like with everyone else. As for sitting on his throne as long as he has, he threatened to walk out on them after 15 years. Nobody else wanted to replace him, so back he went. If/when Wenger is 25 years at Arsenal, nobody will give a shite, let alone give him credit when it's deserved.
  11. He also said we should give "credit when it is deserved". Wrong forum. He gets and deserves no credit, no respect, and no celebration from Liverpool fans. While we're on the subject, when is the tyrant's next touchline ban due?
  12. Well at least Barcelona can't win that.
  13. It's the formal timetable, we have it before every game. No agenda, but no sense either. What's a "blert"? What's a "twat"? What's a "cunt"? I thought we were to speak English here. Actual recognised words in the dictionary that is. We won the game without a bother. So normal service v WBA resumed then.
  14. I'm sure you spent ages writing that post out, but you could have stopped after the "clueless" phrase. Most posters did. 6 months ago, we beat a relegated side 5-0, and the talk was of pissing the league next season. At the moment, it would be nice to just piss on Swansea next week, like we did when Kenny last faced them in 1990.
  15. If you're not careful, you could be discussing again, the nutrition content of fry-ups, and whether pasta can be eaten with a spoon or not. You can discuss freely any issue related to our club. Except when it involves Kenny Dalglish. He'll be coaching us for as long as he likes. Anyway, bring on Stoke. We beat them 8-0 in a LC tie years ago. Hopefully just 1 will do on Wednesday.
  16. Many won't agree with you. You cannot question or criticise Kenny Dalglish. I learnt that lesson last year. One thing though. The league title is relevant to me. The title is a trophy in the cabinet. "Top 4" is a statistic. Kenny knows that as much as anyone.
  17. Hillsborough and Bradford, horrific as they were, cannot be compared. The circumstances behind them are as different as black and white. The families seek Justice for Hillsborough, simply because justice has not been done.
  18. We really should have held out with 20 minutes to go. At least the home unbeaten record stretches now to 4 years. There's no reason why we can't win the next 3 league games before we're away to Chelsea. Time to put some pressure on the leaders I think.
  19. AGENDA: League Game 8/38: v scum (h) KO: 11:45 GMT/12:45 Local 15 October Host Broadcaster: BSKYB Web: Streams With 31 league games remaining, our big one is already here. We're looking for 4-in-a-row in the fixture today, and give us a good platform for hopefully, easier games coming up. Good Luck Redmen.
  20. As if we're stuffed choc-a-bloc with fixtures this season..... The key players won't be playing in this, but Rangers will still probably be stiffer opposition than Norwich City. How we miss Europe eh?
  21. Good post. You have found like most posters, that once you start posting, it becomes addictive, and before long, you have thousands of posts. About post quality, this is a forum, not bestseller material. What looks great to one poster, is shite to someone else, that will always be the case, and not everyone has the time to write out long posts. The way I see it, posters make their views known, anyone can agree or disagree with them. Apart from spammers and abusive posts, there's room for all kinds of different viewpoints and anything, within reason, goes. Like most VBulletin forums, all posts here can be read and accessed by "guests" worldwide, so then the administrators and moderators have to ensure that online spats don't get out of hand as much as possible.
  22. We bought Konchesky, because we needed a left-back. We had no money that summer, and so we had to shop at Poundworld.
  23. We were days away from administration, and a certain battle against relegation last year, only for Broughton and Purslow shafting the owners at the last minute. I read some posts happy to accept that if it meant getting rid of G&H. We are where we are today, because of 20 years of crass mismanagement from the top down. It didn't start last year, and it's going to take more than this year to put it right.
