1. This guy does a pretty good Bateman, albeit whilst ruining one of my favourite songs:
2. This is going to be an intense few weeks. Great end scene.
3. I'd just like to point out that the guy presiding over the appeal is called Lord Chief Justice Lord Judge. Which presumably means he was once the Right Honourable Judge Judge.
4. The dental plan episode was on over the weekend, that's a great Burns episode. Kent Brockman: Now, Mr. Burns, you said you wanted an opening tirade. Mr. Burns: Yes, thank you, Kent. Fifteen minutes from now, I will wreak a terrible vengeance on this city. No one will be spared. NO ONE. Kent Brockman: [chuckles] A chilling portrait of things to come. Mr. Burns: This is a thousand monkeys working at a thousand typewriters. Soon, they'll have finished the greatest novel known to man. [reads a page] Mr. Burns: All right, let's see... "It was the best of times, it was the BLURST of times?" You stupid monkey. Mr. Burns: We don't have to be adversaries, Homer. We both want a fair union contract. Homer: [thinking] Why is Mr. Burns being so nice to me? Mr. Burns: And if you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours. Homer: [thinking] Wait a minute. Is he coming onto me? Mr. Burns: I mean, if I should slip something into your pocket, what's the harm? Homer: [thinking] My God! He IS coming onto me! Mr. Burns: After all, negotiations make strange bedfellows. [chuckle] Mr. Burns: [wink] Homer: [thinking] Aaaaaagh! Homer: [aloud] Sorry, Mr. Burns, but I don't go in for these backdoor shenanigans. Sure, I'm flattered, maybe even a little curious, but the answer is no!
5. It is indeed, Sunday 30th June at the Olympic Park.
6. Boredom has led me to try and figure this out using IMDb. My rules, much like Pointless, are to include any feature length film for which the actor has received an acting credit, but discounting voice work in animated films. You must also have watched a good 75% of a film, at least, to count. I'm probably missing some decent scorers but this is what I've got so far: Samuel L Jackson - 20 (Nick Fury/Mace Windu skewed) Robert DeNiro - 17 Tom Cruise - 13 Christian Bale - 12 Ryan Gosling - 12 Johnny Depp - 12 Dustin Hoffman - 11 Matt Damon - 11 Philip Seymour Hoffman - 11 Brad Pitt - 10 George Clooney - 10 Leonardo DiCaprio - 10 Al Pacino - 10 Jack Nicholson - 7(!) Over to you, GF.
7. Going to see him for the first time at Wembley next month and then at Hard Rock Calling a couple of weeks after. 'Excited' doesn't come close. Gonna settle down with a beer and The River, that's my friday night sorted.
8. Ed The Duck?! No way, not having that.
9. Christ... the tap: Ben Fellows spills the beans
10. A few of you might be interested in watching this when you've got a spare 80 minutes, Conan O'Brien chatting with four of the original Simpsons writers. Good stuff.
11. Which game was it? Agger scored a header from a Shelvey(?) corner against a team in blue?
12. Klopp said: "Gotze was the player Guardiola wished to sign. "So if it's anyone's fault it's mine. I cannot make myself 15cm smaller and learn Spanish. Gotze wants to work with this extraordinary coach that is Guardiola. "I cannot preach football of quick transitions and now start playing Tiki Taka." BBC Sport - Mario Gotze to join Bayern Munich from Borussia Dortmund
13. I was in the carriage with the little TVs on the train today and they were showing highlights of the 81 final, strangely. And the 8-0 against Besiktas, perhaps even strangelyer.
14.
15. One of the greatest pop songs ever, I reckon:
16. Really like the new Uruguay top for the Confederations Cup
17. Here's where I show my colours but you should visit Newquay in January. Still a beautiful place but with none of the cunts that inhabit the place between June and September. Won't argue with Camborne though.
18. Cheers, I think The Maltese Falcon is top of my list. And I always have time for some Steve Martin.
19. Thanks gang. I've seen Bladerunner and L.A Confidential, forgot about those. The rest will go on my list. Also been watching Bored To Death, but I should probably take that over to one of the TV threads. Good stuff though. I'd bloody love to be a private detective, albeit an utterly shit one. Maybe I'll just start stalking people instead...
