1. Why can he expect to play every week in a team that are 2nd when it's clear that the team are doing well? If you were a manager you'd want to keep that chemistry, a player you'd be a bit upset to lose your place when you were in a team coming second and a fan you'd wonder who this on loan upstart was who was holding back one of your players. More likely is he'll be on the bench and have to wait to get his chance, or not I don't really know much about Norwich or their left wing/striking options.
2. Big, physical lads who grew up and learned to play their football in England. He should and at more youth driven sides would have been given more playing time for the first team, even if it were just in the league cup.
3. That's like saying that Fabregas wasn't good enough because Wenger nicked him off them. They had little to no choice in the matter. I seem to remember an article at the time where the Barca youth coach was unhappy that he'd lost his "best player". He was young enough under Rafa where you could see why he wouldn't want to throw him in to the point where right or wrong there was a reasonable doubt. He actually was given a chance under Hodgson all be it fleeting and hopefully he will get a chance under Kenny at some point. I'm pretty sure that at a lot of clubs at 17 Fabregas would have been sat in the reserves or loaned out but Wenger gives his players the belief and knowledge that they can get into the first team at any age. We used to do the same. Hopefully this is a case of Kenny and Comolli identifying that Pacheco is behind in where he should be not due to himself but poor management and this loan spell is merely similar to Wenger sending Wilshere to Bolton to ease him in.
4. I'm sorry but I have a hard time believing this is not just another case of "too small for the prem" syndrome. Pacheco absolutely destroyed everyone in his age group in the u19's when I watched him and he had all the attributes other than strength which didn't hold him back due to his low centre of gravity. I think given a regular run he would be perfect in our system to play off the main striker on the left side with Suarez doing likewise on the right. I also remember him closing down the ball an awful lot so I doubt it's his mentality. I always said Pongolle deserved a chance to at least be a regular squad player here and he proved it and has gone on to do well in Spain without setting the world alight. Why Pacheco couldn't be seen as an option for us is a strange one. I know he's only 20 but if you never try, you never know. He was very highly thought of in spain by Barcelona especially of course and he has a few admirers that will no doubt be watching his progress here, or lack there of.
5. It's not like it's the first time he's had trouble getting his point across and it was clear what he was driving at. In the words of the right honorable James Zed, "some people just love to perform".
6. It's daft till their budget comes in, it's not as high as they expected/need and LFC say they'll pay for the land and give them a percentage. Then it just becomes grass with a large glass house on it.
7. I should say so, and you of all people would know why! Our owners have already seen how succesful Simon's idea can be in practice with "Yawkey Way" , so why wouldn't they try and replicate it? Furthermore what's wrong with it? Absolutely nothing. It's an excellent way to generate added revenue and it would revitalise an area that needs a real boost. Chin up Simon lad, not your fault there are some self serving myopic muppets on here that would rather try and pick on what they perceive as any easy target than actually discuss the merits of ATK's idea. I'd love to see Anfield regenerated, yeah it's great to walk down the old streets and they'll still be there but what would be even better would be to see jobs created and the area cleaned up and houses renovated rather than being bordered up and somewhere to park wouldn't be the worst thing in the world either!
8. What's Paul Scholes got to do with anything?
9. Not getting great reports, think I'll give this one a miss.
10. Hahaha quality thread mate. This is my favourite just for the Chelsea fans looking over thinking "what the fuck?".
11. Funniest thing on comic relief, ever.
12. I went with Godfather part II but Once Upon a Time in America and Carlito's Way were tough to turn down.
13. Quarter-final draw Chelsea v Manchester United Inter Milan v Schalke 04 Real Madrid v Tottenham Hotspur Barcelona v Shakhtar Donetsk Semi-final draw Chelsea v Inter Milan Real Madrid v Barcelona Final Real Madrid v Chelsea
14. That's priceless. "Those scouse ruffians were infuriated by a harmless two footed lunge which was merely a retaliation to the worst tackle I have ever seen, EVER! Lucas is shit, he didn't need to jump and Rafael would have slid under him by burrowing a tunnel to evade the brazilian." Clueless cunt. There's a reason Lucas had to jump and while Carra deserved to be sent off, Rafael needs his leg breaking for his constant attempts to end someone's career.
15. England were awful no doubt about it but there's a lot of potential that is untapped in that side. Ireland wanted it more and were much smarter and their experience told. I think people massively underrate what this England side are capable of in the future with a bit of work though.
16. It's true. It's the same as sides who raise their game against us (L****pool). I'm not saying in any way that we are superior to those sides but we're easily the most hated and fans and players get more happiness beating England than any other team.
17. England bottled it. Well played Ireland now let's hope that the Welsh can do what's necessary.
18. No but we had a much better team then. I'm sure we'll be fine. We'll make improvements to the team and squad that will give us width and allow us to open up the pitch, press the opposition better and get to the byline. Then there's the small matter of Suarez.
19. I demand Eamonn Holmes is invited.
20. Well I suppose it was 51 hours he wasn't eating so if they flew that over in care packages it would at least raise a few smiles.
