  1. We had everyone except Robertson fit for the reverse fixture and this was the team Klopp went with. 5 of the starters along with Gravenberch (and maybe Konate) are missing this. They were only missing De Bruyne and have all except Grealish available for this. Arsenal pinned us back last month and I think a big reason for it was that Gomez turned inside all the time. Robbo's left foot is probably the only plus point (form-wise) he has at the moment to start ahead of Bradley/Gomez but I think Klopp starts him with Joe on the right and Quansah will replace Konate at CB, whether Gomez is picked at full back or not. We will need a super-human effort to get a win and to get the stadium rocking we probably need to be more aggressive than normal. It will be close but I think we have the character to get over the line.
  2. I saw the first two goals and both were howlers from Dunk. Can't really blame injuries on those
  3. The way Robertson is playing tonight, Joe is being rested for Sunday
  4. Kelleher Gomez1 Quansah Konate Robbo Elliott Endo Macca Gakpo Nunez Diaz Subs: Maybe VvD at HT for Konate, and a bit later McConnell (or Clark depending on the score) for Mac Allister, Szoboszlai for Nunez and Salah for Diaz.
  5. Shay Given always seemed a nice lad, but since he has gone into the pundit game, his pro-City and pro-Newcastle agenda is so blatant, it borders on pitiful.
  6. There is actually a clip of the 2nd incident where the Forest players are complaining and you can clearly see Tierney say ...first half". I presume he is telling them that he did the same for them in the first half.
  7. Kelleher Bradley Quansah VVD Tsimikas Elliott Endo Szoboszlai Gakpo Nunez Diaz Subs: Adrian Gomez (for Bradley) Konate (for VVD) Robertson Macca (for Endo) McConnell (for Szoboszlai) Clark Salah (for Nunez) Danns
  8. Sparta Prague play at home to Slavia Prague today at 5pm. Sparta are top, 4 points ahead of Slavia in 2nd. Hopefully this will take a bit from them mentally and physically. I think we will go a bit stronger than what the consensus was on the pod but the minutes will be managed. Kelleher Gomez Quansah VvD Tsimikas Szoboszlai Endo McConnell Elliott Nunez Gakpo Half time substitution of Konate for Virgi and maybe after 60 minutes MacAllister for Endo, Danns for Nunez, Diaz for Szoboszlai and then later on, Salah for whoever. It gets minutes into the players returning, keeps some of the others ticking over and gives a rest to a few. City Kelleher Bradley Konate VvD Robertson Szoboszlai Endo Mac Allister Gakpo Nunez Diaz
  9. And Allisson. Ali Trent Matip Bajcetic Robertson (ill) Szoboszlai Endo Jones Salah Nunez Jota Subs: Thiago Gravenberch Doak. That team finishes 2nd
  10. Is the Assistant VAR the guy who elbowed Robbo?
  11. He was, but that was while he was on loan. He wasn't worth the £1m we paid for him that summer though.
  12. The arrival of Barnes etc., cost £4.3m. £0.9m Barnes £1.9m Beardsley £0.8m Houghton £0.7m Aldridge This was offset by these sales, generating £4.3m £3.2m Rush £0.5m Walsh £0.5m Spackman £0.1m Wark You could argue that Kenny allowed the squad get old together and was unlucky with the early retirements of Beglin, Lawrenson and Johnston. You could also say with justification that his purchases after 1989, especially Rosenthal, Speedie (big goals not withstanding for both) and Carter were not good enough long-term. However, his shuffling of the pack after the 86/87 season was absolutely outstanding and "cost" fuck all.
  13. Lavia has never started a game for them Broja - an average forward really Silva - their form has picked up since his injury. Great player once. Cucarella - A blessing he is injured Badiashille - Gave the worst performance of a defener at Anfield this season, 4 weeks ago Fofana - I had huge hopes for him, but he cannot keep fit Chukwuemaka - Would he have played ahead of what they have? Pochettino's best team is Petrovic James Disasi Silva Chilwell Enzo Caicedo Palmer Gallagher Sterling Jackson with a bench of: Sanchez Gusto Fofana Colwill Chukwuemaka Madueke Mudryk Nkunku Broja That is 2 starters and 3 subs. We played Man City in October with all except Robbo (,Thiago and Bajcetic) fit. Only Van Dijk and MacAllister started that day and today. We had the 2nd string out today and still win. It's great to have a team and club full of great characters. Chelsea have a bunch of egos. Ben Chilwell is their captain. Eugh!!
  14. He played 78 games with Bolton and Acc. Stanley on loan so that should have helped, but he just looks weak
  15. The 11 that played the 2nd period of ET cost £140m. £75m of that was on Van Dijk. I ran out of numbers counting the cost of the Chelsea 11.
  16. Brighton have 23 points in their last 20 league games. They just aren’t a very good side.
  17. They thrashed United 3-0 and Bournemouth 6-1 in late October, early November. Since then, their league results are: Chelsea draw Liverpool draw Spurs draw Villa loss Luton win (2-1) Palace draw Everton win (3-1) Sheff Utd win (2-0) Newcastle win (3-2) Burnley win (3-1) Brentford win (3-1) Everton win (2-0) Chelsea draw Brentford win (1-0) Played 14, won 8, drew 5, lost 1 (averages at a 79 point season) with a goal difference of +12. Since 4th November, they've beaten one team above 14th in the table, and that was in the last minute against a Newcastle side that had lost their previous four games. City haven't been convincing in any league game in their last 14. Maybe they will go on a multiple game winning run, but I just don't see it. They are getting by at the moment and in their next 6 games have: Bournemouth away, United home, Liverpool away, Brighton away, Arsenal home, and Villa home. If they get 15+ points from that, then they have a great chance, but they would need a massive upgrade in form to achieve it.
  18. Roma just beat Feyenoord on spotters. Lukaku missed his
