    Romantic gesture, flowers, bottle of wine, quiet night in if possible. Usually does the trick. Easier said than done if there's a little nipper about though to take some off the spark of the atmosphere.

    I'd go with Kuyt Babel Gerrard Yes they were dire in the first half but second half we picked it up a bit. If we pretended the first half didn't happen, that the final whistle was half time and 0-0 we'd probably all have been fairly optimistic for a win. Candidate for the most hypothetical/pointless post on this forum? Maybe, but it makes me feel better.

    I get the feeling he won't be sticking around that long at City. Did you see his celebration last night? Made a point to Hughes about his quality but once Robinho and co are fit again he won't be getting much game time. I think he's a great player, does have a bad injury record though. Probably most likely to end up at a club like West Ham or Fulham where he'll always start when he's fit.

    When you consider how good Gerrard is in the air, as well as having the best volleying ability since Paul Scholes was in his heyday, he could cause defences a nightmare by varying his position - either at the edge of the box looking for a howitzer into the top corner or making a late run to get on the end with his head. Either way, don't put him out wide.

    Just looks like Adidas trying to copy Nike's format with Cantona but replace him with Zidane. Great inadvertent PR for Liverpool though, might be cheesy as hell but that's what mainstream tv demands these days.

    Loved Chiles talking of the "Lee Dixon school of defending". If he was playing now Torres would absolutely muck him.

    It would be such a poor World Cup without them. Less satisfying for England to win it without testing themselves against this pedigree. Having said that, if they want to piss around and fail to qualify it's not our problem. As things stand they'd enter a playoff against team finishing 4th from North & Central America and Caribbean, which at the moment is Costa Rica. If they can't beat Costa Rica, then they shouldn't be competing.

    I haven't heard enough of The Resistance to judge but have to hand it to Muse for their sense of humour though. They recently went on an Italian chatshow and were asked to mime, so they all "played" the wrong instruments, and the hostess didn't even realise she was interviewing Chris and not Matt at the end.

    Apparently he had a top of the range security system but they bypassed it and went through the front door. I'll be sticking with my iron grill.

    We all know how they're going to be received, whether or not it affects the value of the club. Personally I would still feel better venting and embarassing the bastard rather than sitting tight and hoping a more corporate friendly atmosphere does the trick.
