  1. Balotelli was being kicked throughout his contribution. He wasn't great by any means but it's fucking ridiculous that we seem to always have to put up with one of our Strikers being the whipping boy for the league. Let Senderos kick shrek twice and see what happens. It was the same with Torres, it was the same with Suarez, and it's the same now. I think Sturridge will get the benefit of the doubt in those situations, and fair enough Balotelli and Suarez have/had reputations (though I've never heard of Balotelli being notorious for diving and his reputation has preceded his time here), but Torres didn't and it was still for a large part allowed to happen with him as well.
  2. Rodgers certainly wasn't at his best but it's really the international break that fucked us for me. 3 players injured, albeit only one an persistent first 11 member, but perhaps more importantly than that it ruined the high we were on after the spurs game. Sometimes you lose games against sides you shouldn't, that's football and to be fair Villa got their goal and made it hard for us to break them down. Parked the fucking bus or whatever you want to call it, but it worked and if we don't start punishing teams for it you can be certain we'll see it more and more often. Most teams would take a draw against us anyway, doubly so at Anfield, so the 1-0 win is a bonus for them.
  3. This thing with Sturridge and England reminds me of how I felt when Torres would go off to play for Spain, you just knew he'd come back fucked somehow.
  4. Tangerines are in season, it's summer don'tcha know
  5. Suarez in a shocking return as he call Messi a "shit one-footed greedy cunt of dwarf" in practice.
  6. Doesn't get the credit because he played with Suarez who both created and scored regularly. I expect big things from Daniel this season (not that he gives a fuck what I think) but the first two games haven't really helped his cause despite the goal.
  7. In their pomp? Yes without a doubt. At the end of the January we sold Torres and bought Suarez in? I have my doubts. Torres was looking like getting back to his old self but all we've got to go on is his form after sale and it's been horrible to say the least so probably not.
  8. Agreed. Hope we put 4 passed him on sunday whilst tapping him up in the hall before and after the match.
  9. Yesterday sucked but as far as I'm concerned we're plus 3 on corresponding fixtures and if we keep that up we'll challenge for the title. We didn't play terribly, we just weren't good enough but I have faith we'll hold serve at Anfield.
  10. I'd agree with you if the extra was £5m to £10m. An extra £39m for one player at a position we're already pretty well stocked in*? No thanks. We need a striker, and Balotelli is a striker who on his day is unplayable. He's not Falcao no, but he costs only £6m more to buy and significantly less in wages rather than the £10m to rent him for a year and pay him £200k a week whilst he waits for Madrid to come get him. If we're going to spend that kind of money on a player it should either be a striker (of which currently 4 might be worth that kind of money, 2 of which aren't necessarily out and out strikers, one of which we just sold and the other is the aforementioned Falcao who would cost an arm and leg to rent for a season), or a genuinely top class Gerrard-esque midfielder of which, for me anyway, Pogba or Vidal spring to mind most though I suppose Kovacic is gaining hype as that type of player but I've not seen much of him. I don't think Kovacic would cost that much though if we did want him, at least not right now. * - whether Di Maria is seen as a CAM/Second Striker or a Winger we've bought a £20m winger who hasn't kicked a competitive ball for us yet and maybe could play multiple positions as most wingers seem capable of at this time. We already have Sterling who we know can play as a winger or behind the forwards. Lallana, who hasn't kicked a ball in any game for us yet but should be able to play either wide or behind the striker(s) and we already know Coutinho can do both as well, even if most of us prefer him central.
  11. Do y'all not set fire to your workstation everytime you want to change jobs?!
  12. Where's the man city bribe money, Michel?
  13. He's not arguing that it won't be tried, he's arguing that Lovren is shit on the right.* * - Don't know enough about Lovren to know if this is true or not, but I'm fairly certain he's capable of playing both sides at CB.
  14. Won't change until the younger players start to realize they're better off playing games elsewhere than sitting on the bench there, not to mention that there's always going to be some new flavour of the month signing to come in and potentially replace them. Does my head in as well but then no one has ever accused the majority of footballers of being smart.
  15. Or in the latter's case played whilst knowingly injured just to see if he's got some toughness about him. Fuck hodgson.
  16. I wouldn't if I was him, look what happened to Torres when he went brown and had a bit of chop, instashit.
  17. Falcao wouldn't sit on the bench, he'd be accomodated just like Suarez was. Different type of player obviously but his class makes that irrelevant. For me anyway.
  18. Between Falcao and Lavezzi the former is the better player and therefore would be better for us, even factoring in the team aspect.
  19. You had me at bit of weight and then lost me with the photo where the woman looks slight malnourished...
  20. I'll always love Rafa for his time here but I have to agree. He's a very pragmatic man, even if stubborn, and if the quotes of ex and current players are he's to be believed kind of machine-like as well. He's not going to just hand us ridiculous sums of money for a player or two we want to shift on and he's certainly not going to part ex-change his main striker for either of them or even both in my opinion. Comes across as one of those people you generally enjoy having make deals for you but would absolutely loathe have to make a deal with him yourself.
  21. Like others I can't really be glad Barkley's injured. I'm glad that it fucks Everton over but I like him as a player, wish he was a red to be honest but I'm sure that'll never happen. When most of us were bitching about the Lallana transfer (myself included) I was hoping we'd put in a bid for Barkley instead for one to wind them up and for another to see if he'd actually be tempted to push for the move.
