  1. That was good of him to send some fans over to pay tribute. Couldn't expect a busy man like him to do it himself.
  2. Never liked having the original as Scotland's anthem but can't wait to sing this at LFC away games and I'm sure Kenny would love it.
  3. I don't know why the Tories are so keen on keeping Scotland part of the Union. They've got 1 MP here out of 59 so we hinder their chances of winning UK general elections. They tell us Scotland is subsidised by Westminster handouts, in which case they'd save money if we went independent. They know they're absolutely despised up here and they don't like us either - Cameron should be encouraging us to fuck off.
  4. I'm pro-independence and never thought I'd live to see it happening. I'm not so sure now - the SNP won a lot of Scots over with their capable administration over the last 4 years. After the Tories got back in people up here were sickened and many now see independence as the only way to escape from living under Tory rule for about half their lives. Polls tend to show only about a third of Scots in favour of independence but it'd be foolish to write off Salmond's chances of securing a Yes vote once the referendum campaign gets going in a couple of years.
  5. Nicholas Witchell isn't looking at all well, I'm worried about him. Never been the same since Prince Charles called him a cunt.
  6. Tiger must have got his hole last night. Looks back to his best.
  7. The bit about 6 minutes into the 12" version of New Order's 'Perfect Kiss' (on the 'Substance compilation) when it all suddenly kicks off - what an epic, exhilarating climax to a record. It was my favourite moment in music when I first heard it 24 years ago and it still is now.
  8. Saw a lot of McCarthy when he was at Hamilton - he and James McArthur used to cruise through Scottish 1st division games as teenagers while hairy arsed Scottish cloggers tried and failed to boot lumps out of them. Well worth taking a gamble on, he's mobile, very intelligent passer and looks like he'll add more goals to his game as he gets older. As a Scot I'm annoyed he chose to play for Ireland - him and Adam could have formed a top class partnership in the middle and maybe kept the Manc rat Fletcher out of the team.
  9. I was at the match yesterday - one of the friendliest atmospheres I've ever experienced at football so it's a shame this story has spoiled it. I can guarantee Neymar was booed (not with any level of viciousness) for his constant diving and rolling about. He was booed when he took the penalty in the hope it might put him off. Feck all to do with his colour - I'm an Asian Scot and know there are plenty of racist fuckwits up here but I follow Scotland abroad and have never heard anything like that (anti-English sentiment yes). As for the banana, no one knows for sure who threw it but it clearly came from the Brazilian end of the ground. I would be pretty surprised if it came from a Scot - everyone knows our skin dissolves if it has any direct contact with fresh fruit.
  10. He did get beat, the lucky blueshite bastard. Reid looks in great shape for a 40 year old.
  11. That was excellent - hardly missed with any of his punches. I've bet on Reid but would love to see Fielding beat him and win it.
  12. There might already be a similar thread on here but I couldn't find it ... I went to see Janelle Monae last night in Glasgow - absolutely fuckin' brilliant. She's an amazing singer and dancer, her band are as funky as the JBs, every song was fantastic and her backing singers and dancers were stunning. Right up there with the best gigs I've ever seen along with the Pixies, Horace Andy, Jane's Addiction, Al Green, Radiohead and Public Enemy. Who is the best live act you've ever seen?
  13. Thom Yorke's dancing in that 'Lotus Flower' video is like a fusion of Flashdance and some MC Hammer shit.
  14. Peter Mullan's 'Neds'. Superb performance by young Conor McCarron in the lead role as a bright Glasgow teenager who gets sucked into a life of gang violence. Some pretty brutal scenes but plenty of humour as well and an unforgettable closing scene. 8/10.
  15. No one is bigger than LFC so fuck him. We're on the up, Kenny will have us finishing above Chelsea within a couple of seasons and Fernando will know he's made the biggest mistake of his life joining a club of classless fans and scumbag players.
  16. If a young English midfielder had played like Charlie Adam has over the last 18 months he'd be going for at least £10m. I watched him for a season when he was on loan at St Mirren, he was absolutely superb. He didn't look as good at Rangers because Walter Smith doesn't like creative players who stray from his ugly anti-football style. Under Kenny's guidance he can become a fucking brilliant player - give them £6m and get him signed.
  17. I hate it when braindead bigoted mongs assume everyone else shares their views. "Kenny will go potty". No he won't Keys, you Neanderthal twat, because he's intelligent, treats people with respect and has a daughter working in football media. Hope they both get sacked, what a couple of arseholes.
  18. When I first started watching Liverpool in the mid 80s a pretty significant proportion of our support (especially at away games) would make 'monkey' noises whenever a black player touched the ball. I went to those matches with my Dad (who is Indian) and looking back on it I'm amazed he continued taking me to those games. When Barnes signed the monkey noises stopped and our fans suddenly became outraged at the racism shown by the blueshite towards him ...
  19. Good news - some of our lazy, under-achieving, unmotivated, spineless or just plain shit players should be going with him during the January window. Come on Kenny, work some magic!
  20. 6-5 now, fuckin hell! Could be the greatest sporting comeback since Istanbul ...
  21. A jelly in his drink might have relaxed him enough to hit some of the doubles he keeps missing. Hats off to Lewis though, he's been lethal and didn't get flustered when Anderson pulled it back to 3-3. Apparently some guy has 55k on Anderson at 8/11 ... makes me feel better about losing twenty quid.
  22. That 5th set could change this match - couldn't see Anderson recovering from 4-1 down but if he composes himself now he can win. Phenomenally exciting stuff, makes most other sporting events look dull.
  23. Fuckin amazing start - wouldn't be surprised if Anderson also gets a 9-darter once he shakes off his nerves.
