  1. One person confirmed dead but that will rise. Glad it's giving you all a good laugh though.
  2. So the efits are based on the witness statements given by the Smith family from Ireland. What Crimewatch didn't tell viewers is that Martin Smith was 60-80% certain the man he saw carrying the child was Gerry McCann. The statements the Smiths gave to the Portuguese police can be read at http://www.mccannpjfiles.co.uk/PJ/MARTIN_SMITH.htm Detective Branch Drogheda County Lough Re – Investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann I took an additional statement from Mr Smith as requested. His wife does not want to make another statement. I showed him the video clip and he stated that it was not the clip that alerted him but the BBC news at 10 PM on 9th September 2007. He has been contacted by numerous tabloid press looking for stories. He has been contacted by Mr Brian Kennedy who is supporting the McCann family to take part in a photo fit exercise. He has given no stories or helped in any photo fits. He sent a solicitor's letter to six papers in relation material that was printed that was misquoted. The Evening Herald paid his solicitor's fees and all papers printed an apology. His photograph appeared in another tabloid paper and this matter is being pursued at the moment. I do not believe that Martin Smith is courting the press and my view his is a genuine person. He is known locally and is a very decent person. Forwarded please Sergeant Liam Hogan I hereby declare that this statement is true to the best of my knowledge and belief and that I make it knowing that if it is tendered in evidence I will be liable to prosecution if i state in it anything which I know to be false or do not believe to be true. I would like to state that the statement I made on 26th May 2007 in Portugal is correct. The description of the individual that I saw on 3rd May 2007 carrying a child is as follows. He was average build, 5 foot 10' in height, brown hair cut short, aged 40 years approximately. Wearing beige trousers and darkish top maybe a jacket or blazer. He had a full head of hair with a tight cut. This individual was alone. I saw Gerard McCann (sic) going down the plane stairs carrying one of his children on 9th September 2007 BBC news at 10 PM, I have been shown the video clip by Sergeant Hogan which I recognise. A clip I have seen before on the Internet. In relation to the video clips of Gerard McCann and the person I saw on 3rd May 2007 when I saw the BBC news at 10 PM on 9th September 2007 something struck me that it could have been the same person. It was the way Gerard McCann turned his head down which was similar to what the individual did on 3rd May 2007 when we met him. It may have been the way he was carrying the child either. I would be 60-80% sure that it was Gerard McCann that I met that night carrying a child. I am basing that on his mannerism in the way he carried the child off the plane. After seeing the BBC news at 10 PM, footage on the 9th September 2007 I contacted Leicestershire police with this information. During that time I spoke to all my family members who were with me on the night of 3rd May 2007 about this and the only one who felt the same way as me was my wife. She had seen the video clip of Gerard McCann walking down the stairs of the plane earlier that day. We did not discuss this until some days later. This statement has been read over to me and is correct."
  3. No it isn't. It's being shown in Germany, Holland and Ireland. The Portuguese have read the police files and therefore aren't too sympathetic towards the McCanns.
  4. Their motivation to cover up an accidental death would be to keep their other two kids, maintain their careers and keep themselves out of jail. Why they have received such unwavering support from successive British governments, media and now the Met Police I've no idea but it wouldn't be the first time the British establishment has colluded in a massive cover-up. Can anyone else think of any other families in a similar situation who felt the need to employ a £75,000-a-year spokesman/spin doctor? One who has come out with quotes such as "There are wholly innocent explanations for anything the police may or may not have found" (as Mitchell did when told that the dogs had indicated that a dead body had been in the apartment).
  5. There is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that Madeleine was abducted. There is evidence from the police cadaver dogs to suggest that she died in the apartment. Kate McCann refused to answer 48 of the 49 questions put to her by Portuguese police. She answered one question: "Are you aware that the fact of your not answering the questions put to you jeopardise the investigation that was aimed at finding out what happened to your daughter?" with "Yes, if the investigation thinks that." http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7542939.stm Although they have cooperated with the new BBC reconstruction, the McCanns and the friends they were at the tapas restaurant with all refused to take part in a reconstruction of the evening's events at the time, as requested by the Portuguese police. The accounts given by the McCanns and their friends of the events of that evening were contradictory; several of them changed their stories on different occasions. Within days of Madeleine disappearing government spin-doctor Clarence Mitchell had been appointed their spokesman and the McCannns were leaving their remaining two kids behind to go on a European tour which included meeting the Pope. Much more to this case than meets the eye.
  6. I briefly met Kylie once at T In The Park in the mid 90s, she was the most perfect looking woman I've ever seen in the flesh, absolutely flawless.
  7. Off the top of my head: 1. Maradona 2. Zidane 3. Ronaldo 4. Maldini 5. Seedorf Top 5 non-LFC players to have played in the Premiership: 1. Zola 2. Bergkamp 3. Viera 4. Le Tissier 5. Klinsmann
  8. 'Dreaming' for me. One of the greatest singles of all-time... as are 'Heart Of Glass', 'Union City Blue' and 'Hanging On The Telephone' but there's something about 'Dreaming' that's just absolutely perfect.
  9. This weekend I watched for games which were 0-0 at the 65-70 minute mark and then bet on there being over 0.5 goals when the price reached Evens. 10 out of 12 won. Will need to keep trying it to see if that success rate is the norm - guess it probably isn't, bookies don't get things like that wrong.
  10. Just home from the fight at the SECC - great atmosphere and another great performance from Ricky Burns. He deserves all the success he gets, a thoroughly decent and down to earth guy who has been under-rated for a long time now ... can't believe how many boxing fans were predicting a Mitchell win. Went back to the Crowne Plaza hotel afterwards and it didn't take long before it all kicked off - glass and blood everywhere. Shit end to the night but not really a surprise - cocky West Ham fans outnumbered by Glaswegians was never going to end well.
  11. Templeton is very inconsistent and nowhere near good enough yet for LFC. Gary Mackay-Steven at Dundee Utd might be in a couple of years - suffered a lot of injuries when he was with us as a youngster but now looks a class act, some if his tricks are amazing. Ryan Fraser at Aberdeen is another young winger who looks like he could go far but he's only 18 so we'll see how he gets on over the next couple of years... all three are more skilful with a ball at their feet than Downing, no doubt about that but it's not all about trickery.
  12. Great turnout for the Glasgow march - couldn't see the front or the back of the march from where I was but I'd guess there were between 10 and 20 thousand marching and lots of support from the public. Pubs were mobbed afterwards - maybe regular strikes will lead us out of recession?
  13. Been watching this for the last hour and it seems they've got off because the Italian police fucked up the forensics. What do Knox and her boyfriend claim to have been doing while Meredith was being brutally murdered?
  14. I'm sure Matterface made that tweet public that deliberately just to remind everyone he gets to suck on her amazing tits every night ... smug cunt but we'd all be a smug cunt if we'd married Natalie.
  15. Shocking revelations about Player A and Player B there. I'd never have expected drug use from those two.
  16. Guess that's that question answered then. Case against Coulson much harder to prove now. Some truly evil forces at work here determined to make sure the truth doesn't come out about any of these cover-ups. Fucking disgusting.
  17. Wonder who'll be the first David Kelly type 'suicide' in this story? Probably someone who knows the truth about David Kelly's 'suicide' ...
  18. He left the studio before the programme ended; probably realised it was time he got on the move again. The story he remembered came from hacking was the Neil and Christine Hamilton rape allegations - sure we'll be hearing more about that this week. Wouldn't be surprised if Murdoch has him bumped off before the police catch up with him, he exposes more about News Corps methods every time he opens his mouth. Mysterious traffic accident or suicide coming up I reckon.
  19. Just watched the shambolic fucktard McMullan on BBC Sunday Morning Live he was on with Peter Hitchens and Derek Hatton. Car crash telly as McMullan admitted to more phone hacking ("That story came from hacking as well! Oh, maybe I shouldn't be saying that on air..."), explained how the NotW paid people more money the more they embellished their stories and then admitted to being on the run from the police which is why he's had the same clothes on for five days. Says the police "asked" him to report to a police station to be arrested but he's not going to because he was only writing the truth ... "and what better way to get to the truth than listen to someone's phone messages". I can hardly believe he's real.
  20. Just watched 'City Island' - had never heard of it before but found it a funny and uplifting twist on the dysfunctional family theme. Great performance from Andy Garcia.
  21. Spot on. Anyone who likes these albums should also check out Mark Lanegan's solo album, 'Bubblegum' - a superb record by one of the all-time great vocalists. Missed QOTSA last night, was Lanegan with them?
  22. The footage of Ayn Rand was quite disturbing. Going to read up on her as well but from last night's programme she came across deranged. Frightening that Alan Greenspan was one of her followers.
  23. Anybody watch this new Adam Curtis documentary on BBC2? What did you make of it? I enjoyed it but will need to watch it again - too much brainwork required for a Monday night. General idea seemed to be free market economics combined with computer technology has led to us losing our humanity ... something like that.
  24. I support two teams, St Mirren and Liverpool. I don't really have to worry about them being drawn against each other in Europe ... Loads of Scottish guys around my age became LFC fans as kids because of Kenny, Souness and Hansen ... but mostly Kenny. As for the Lennon incident, I don't like the guy but the hatred he provokes among some of the bigoted fuckwits up here is unreal. Hats off to him for not chucking it but I think he'll have to soon for his family's sake. As long as he remains Celtic manager this madness will continue.
