  1. I'll be amazed if he's back on Sunday judging by the way he stopped and pulled up.
  2. Rodgers getting them relegated to the Championship in their last ever season at Goodison would be box office stuff!
  3. One of my friends has recently started drinking brake fluid every day. I told him that he's getting addicted but he says he can stop at any time!
  4. Fair play to Ridge for managing to say this out loud and keep a straight face!
  5. Taken from here, UEFA Coefficients: England Still on for an Extra Champions League Place (theanalyst.com)
  6. As it stands... However since that tweet, Eintracht Frankfurt, RB Leipzig and Lazio have been knocked out. It's pretty much a shoe in for England now barring some freak results. I'm sure it's over an 80% chance now.
  7. If there's any doubts around Kelleher I'd leave him out tomorrow. We can't afford to have Adrian in goal against City.
  8. De Gea was shite last season and hasn't played since May 2023. There's a reason he's still without a club!
  9. It's a bit of an odd comparison to make? There's no connection between Thiago earning millions and people using food banks. When Thiago leaves in the summer it's not like the club are going to announce that from now on they are going to donate £10 million a year to local food banks instead. There are many people to be angry towards regarding the rise of the need for food banks but footballers aren't one of them.
  10. I remember Rodgers referenced it with Sturridge. You get some players that won't play if they feel pain, and then you get some like Gerrard that take pain killing injections to make sure they can play. With Thiago I just think that his body is completely fucked and he can't play top level football anymore.
  11. Isn't the smoking ban doomed to fail anyway? If it comes in it means that shops will have to ID everybody that buy's cigarettes and it will create a situation that means that you'll have the bizarre situation where an 18 year old can't buy them but a 19 year old can. So in years to come you will have a 48 year old that can't buy them but a 49 year old that can! Most of my friends that used to smoke have all stopped now because they've been priced out. They'd be better just to continue going down that route.
  12. The full article, Everton’s financial future will be plunged into major doubt by the end of the month if 777 Capital’s proposed takeover remains unresolved. Pressure is mounting for the Premier League to finally make a decision on the deal as working capital and new stadium financing is assured only to March 31. The coming weeks could be among the most consequential in the Merseyside club’s history, with executives also fighting a second alleged spending breach. A decision on the outcome of the league’s toughened owners’ and directors’ test can be ruled out for at least another week, sources tell Telegraph Sport. More meetings are anticipated between the top tier and the Miami-brd investment firm in the coming days to clarify outstanding questions face to face. Even if the Premier League board is then satisfied it has received all information, an independent oversight panel of KCs will be called in to review conclusions under the new rules. The precedent set by Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s 25 per cent purchase of Manchester United have led insiders to conclude that further process alone will take another seven days. Although Everton’s 10-point deduction was reduced to six last week, the club’s form has dipped worryingly, with defeat against West Ham on the weekend. An appeal panel reduced Everton’s punishment due to “legal errors” but an accompanying ruling detailed how the club had already committed “over £800 million” to its new Bramley-Moore Dock development. Telegraph Sport has reported previously how 777 appears unwilling to provide any further loan funding while the takeover saga drags on. The company, one of a growing number of multi-club owner models, agreed to purchase owner Farhad Moshiri’s 94 per cent stake in September. It has since provided Everton with a further £30 million in funding, taking the total loan from the American investment firm to £180 million. In recent weeks, 777 has moved to reassure its own staff over its finances after the recent departure of Damien Alfalla as chief financial officer. Co-founders Josh Wander and Steve Pasko wrote in an internal memo: “We are pleased to announce that Brett Kaufman will be stepping into the role of CFO for 777 Partners. We are confident that this change will fortify our future growth and are excited to welcome Brett into the 777 family. We appreciate your continued support and enthusiasm during this transition.” Everton were hit by claims that the takeover could be put in danger by allegations regarding one of 777s subsidiaries, 777Re, which is a Bermuda-brd reinsurer. But sources close to 777 insisted the reinsurer has been placed under administrative control as part of a reorganisation of the industry by Bermudan authorities, rather than being placed into administration, and that there are no issues for their funding of the Everton deal as a result.
  13. Some weird stats with him. He's got a higher win percentage than any manager post Fergie but also a much higher loss percentage. They've also scored the least amount of goals under him compared to others. I think they have to get 5th place for him to have any chance of keeping his job. As bad as they are, I still think they might sneak that 5th place Champions league spot. Spurs face us, City and Arsenal in consecutive games and it would be typical Spurs to spurs it up.
  14. If they win away at City at the end of the month I think they will win it. We have to beat City on Sunday and hope for a draw in the City v Arsenal game.
  15. Very true. I think whatever happens in the summer Southgate will step down and Howe will be a very likely replacement. Howe is another one that really obviously just doesn't have what it takes to be a Liverpool manager in any shape or form.
  16. Galloway calling on Corbyn to form an alliance with him and form a socialist party.
  17. I've seen a couple of articles saying that his injury is more serious than first thought, or first reported and he's likely to miss most of the rest of the season.
