  1. Dont really know how i feel about Houllier to be honest, i defo dont hate him tho. Like a number of people have already said we has some magic nights under his reign (the FA cup final being my personal favourite). It must be said we also had a lot of bad times and the football we played at times was awful (the vitesse match at anfield was on of the worst games i ever seen, the stadium was half empty and it was fookin freezin). For many of us tho, we were not old enough to remember the glory days and the treble year was the first time many had seen us win something live (aprt from 1992 and 1995). P.S although it could be well argued Houllier was pulling the strings, the season we finished second (our highest finish in the PL era), THOMMO was our manager for a large part of it!

  3. Considering the mancs won it qualifying outright and with english teams being the most successful over the last 3 years, it should be really. Platini wont let that happen, if he had his way he wouldn't let there be one team represnting Lverpool never mind two. Could you imagine Galliard's reaction to two scouse teams in the champs league - it would look something like this -----> :telloff:
  4. Spot on!!! Will be a fuckin disgrace if their allowed back in, particulary considering all the shit we had to put up with after Istanbul and we won the fuckin thing and even then Inter should have been kicked out for setting Didas head on fire meaning we could and should have replaced them without all the bolloxs about us being allowed in "through the back door"! That just about sums Uefa up tho, talking thru their back door! Scandelous!
  5. At the risk of sounding really paranoid and exposing my love of a conspiracy, it wouldnt surprise me if it was all a ploy by the southern media to cause trouble i.e. link us with loads of shit leading to a continued dis-trust of rafas transfer policy prompting fan disillusionment. I know to some that may sound mental and i dont entirely believe it myself but it really wouldnt surprise me and you only have to look at the fallout on these forums with us all at odds with each other about our "transfer targets" to see this continued speculation is affecting the morale of the fans and the players (who themselves cant be too inspired by what were being linked with. Plus the only players we have a confirmed link to or Deggen (already signed) and Barry. And sadly yes, it does seem we dont have any money. As a last point, how come the arse seem to be able to buy a player like Nasri for 12 mill and we will have to go considerably higher to sign ANYBODY! How anyone can moan about the lack of english/british talent when the mancs are signing players like Hargreaves (who is shit and i dont care what anyone says) for 18 mill, spurs Bent 16 mill, bale 10 mill, ashley young 10 mill, carrick 18 mill, ferdinand 30 mill and rooney 25 mill, Walcott 12 mill, Barry...fuck knows, its ridiculous, id love a few more english players but there only seems to be two teams who can afford them.
  6. Ive always said to the blues who moan about Heysel robbin them of a euro triumph, if it wasnt for the heysel ban we'd be singing 9 times coz theres no doubtin we were the team in the eighties! As a side point i feel sorry for Evans and personally think he did a decent job. We would have won the league if our defence wasnt terribly cak (which u could well blame on his signings) but either way our recovery (which it is considering our plight under souness) was started by Evans. United capitalised on the influx of money once the premier league got its legs and set the foundations which allowed them to gain enough presence to cheat their way (sorry...influence) the big players in governmental football. In many ways, our own insistence on maintaining the traditions of Liverpool FC have held us back. At the same time however, that is why we are who we are. A club with tradition and class and we are the good guys. In any story you have goodies and baddies and the goodies always win, dont they?
  7. I HATE fergie but fair play to him coz he manages to continually get away wiv this shit its scandelous and more to the point OBVIOUS but he still manages to do it every year! I'l be honest ive given up on "football", all i care about is liverpool coz i cant watch any football now without goin mental. Everytime i see a player have a go at the ref me mind goes back to to the chief at castle greyskull and how them sly twats at sky edited the footage to make him look like a right cunt. The mancs rule the premier league but the silver lining is that their fucked when he finally disappears! Either way, we are still and will always be LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB!!!!!!!! Fuck him!
  8. Dont really know why but i love the goal when the chief tackled the derby lad and it ran through for Torres who finished into the bottom right with his left. Loved that!!! Its been mentioned a million times in a million threads but we really do have the spine of a world class team and that goal confirmed that for me! Wouldnt swap them two for the world!
  9. I had a manc friend turn round and blame us for the fact they couldnt sell out all their tickets ha ha They've just won the champions league and all they wer talkin about today was "i hate fuckin scousers" to which i replied "why you keep talkin bout us, you were the last thing on our minds as we paraded the trophy in front of half a million people" ha ha ha ha
  10. The Adebayor chant is quite clearly racist. The elephant bit is hardly meant as a compliment or else it wouldnt have been used (the mum bits just there to rhyme). Its a statement about Africa and the narrow minded view about how primitive and un-civilised their people supposedly are. It aint a million miles away from the monkey chantin shite for me. Plus the mancs have typically been singin that for ages, as have spurs - why we singin it anyway! Dont want to get involved in an arguement or mean to say that anyone who finds it funny is racist (so apologies in advance) but in my opinion the intent behind the creation of the song is clearly race related and has no place in Anfield! Nor does any chant about a dying (dead) mother, what would we have done if they'd have done it to us when rafa and dirks dad died? Simply no need for it!
  11. REALLY REALLY rate him!!! Hes bin possibly my favourite non Liverpool player (outside the usual messi, ronaldinho etc) for a while. Everytime ive seen him hes really impressed me. Would be a GREAT signing!!!
  12. I have a class video of the Torres bounce/mosh pit in the kiosks at old trafford before the game! Dont know how to upload it tho!
  13. Its been said a million times but this whole situation is unbelievable! Hows it got this far?! The thing that continues to baffle me is just how tightly Hicks is clinging onto the club, particularly when considering he didnt really want to buy the club in the first place. It was Gillett who was desperate to buy us and Hicks was simply (if simply is the right word) the money man. I really dont understand why Hicks just dont fuck off. Of course the answer to such a question could be the profitablity of Premier League clubs, but he would have made millions in profit by selling to DIC and deep down he cant be happy with this situation on a personal level (this whole saga is savaging his reputation) and would be better off disappearin into the texan wilderness. I dont believe a word any of them say, although Hicks although its difficult to argue against him in reference to Parry and to counter any questions defending Parry just remember WE ARE LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB, ENGLANDS MOST SUCCESSFULL CLUB AND STILL EUROPES PREMIER TEAM, yet we still langusih behind clubs like Arsenal in the rich list and lose out on transfer targets coz we are out bid by Newcastle (Owen went to Newcastle coz we couldnt afford him). Surely this is wrong! Either way its a complete shambles, from the out n out lies of Parry n Hicks to the sheer cowardice and year long silence of Gillett, the spineless twat. Its also quite obvious Hicks n Gillett have always hated each other as surely such a "strong relationship" could not have broken down so quickly, which makes the selling of the club to them all the more baffling. It doesnt look good. Hicks is supposedly tight with Bush, and nearly 8 years on were still waiting for him to get out of Iraq!
  14. It all comes down to identity really. Football could be seen as the modern day forum for tribalism. The football becames a tool to prove how good our city is. Some tits just take it way too far. Let me explain. I am the archetypal plastic scouser. All my family are from Liverpool and i partly grew up in Crocky, but i am from Wigan. As a result i am overly and fiercly passionate of my scouse roots despite my George Formby accent (who incidently lived just over the road). All this being said, i have always been unable to hate the blues as much as i should because they are from Liverpool. They just dont seem to see it lke that. Id not been to a derby for a while and in Wigan the fans are roughly split 50/50 bewteen Liverpool and United fans (dont believe its a rugby town or a Latics town - its not, wiganers have always supported Liverpool or United), so i dont see many blues but the murderes shit surprsed me. Forgive my naiiveness but i didnt expect that from them and how any scouser can brag about reading the sun just confuses me. They obviously dont know their history (or they sadly just dont care). Being surrounded by the twats the united fans are for me the most horrible set of bastards to inhabit the football spectrum. The blues just disappoint me...and make me laugh!
  15. At running the risk f being criticised for any opinion whatsoever, i really cant believe the stick Carras getting! I really cant. I understand the point may be a valid one concerning his distribution and is rightly discussed, but i happen to think his distribution is quite good considering that has NEVER been his game and we've all known that forever. Jamie Carragher is a legend and IS our captain. Hes our organiser and along with Pepe the main reason weve consistently had one of the strongest defences in EUROPE!!! The main reason our distribution from the back is poor is because at times our movement is truly awful. At times there has been simply no one to pass to and for me, that remans the reason why we are sadly only the fourth best team in this division at the moment. At times this season weve played some lovely stuff which makes it all the more frustrating coz we know we can do it. Jamie had a bad day on Sunday has did everyone unlucky enough to be at that shit hole (bar the pre match Torres bounce which was awesome). Carras had an inconsistent season but a Liverpool team without just isnt quite a Liverpool team. We would badly miss him. Hes more than a footballer in regards his importance to Liverpool Football Club!
  16. I saw a thing on the BBC website around the time of the draw n it give a timeline for the events. Apparantly they do a practice draw (didnt know that) n all the english teams avioded each and we got fenerbache and the Mancs got Barca. Why they do a practice, it surely cant be that hard. Dont know if its fixed probly not, but i would be willng to bet that not one Liverpool fan doubted that we'd be the ones who drew the English team.
  17. Wasnt gona write anyhing and dont like to bash fellow fans but since scotty clearly isnt a liverpool fan, WHAT A LOAD OF BOLLOCKS! If anyone honestly believes Torres is moving at the end of the season it CERTAINLY wouldnt be to Real Madrid. The boys an Atletico man through n through. He HATES real with every fibre of his being! Itd be like Gerrard signing for Man Ure or the blue shite! N as if we would ever let Torres even think about joining the mancs. I thought Scotty might have just been suckered in and felt slightly sorry for him considering he back lash hes had but to go on and say were a small club? Even if he does suprise us all and turns out to be a proper red, he seriously needs to re-evaluate why he supports Liverpool FC! Ive already wasted too much on this as it is obviously a load of cack!
  18. Can i just start by sayin i love Rafa and its heartbreaking to see him obviously walkin the plank. Maybe its the fact he won us the champions league that has blinded me for so long. Im 25 and missed the glory years as i was too young to remember or appreciate them and i remember watchin the mancs win it and thinkin i might never see us do that. Dave Kirby summed it up in that poem he did sayin "know u know how it feels". I dont need to say it felt fookin brilliant but at the moment were in a complete mess! Theres no doubt Rafa has to stay on at least to the end of the season and the arguement could be said he should be given one more year (under new owners), mainly because our entire future is based around Rafa's vision. Are we in a position to completely revoluntionise our future with the uncertainty of the clubs ownership? It would be a major gamble. So too would be to keep Rafa on sadly However, some of his decisions and tactics of late have been baffling! I still cant understand why we have 11 men back for corners at home to shite opposition (if anyones interested id always have one of the speedy players stood on the half way line to latch onto the inevitable hoofed ball), not to mention how terrible our movement is. I believe that is the major difference between us and the "top 3", their movement is by far superior. Questions could also be raised about the way Dirk plays, is he being told to play so deep. Admittedly hes been shite but how can he score goals when hes playing deeper than the chief. As the manager these things are Rafas responsibility (as well as the players of course who seriously need to look in the mirror and ask some questions). I fully understand the original posters thoughts about fergie but at that time he also had the most expensive squad esembled in British football (i saw it in a documentary) and has been given the full backing of the club throughout his entire reign there. The fact that the mancs have maximised even the tinisetchance of profits has also made sure they have had the finances to compete. Can we say the same? That is not to say the club hasnt backed our managers but we havent and STILL cant do it on the level the mancs can. Our club has been run shockingly for years and it could be argued that that is why we are finding it so difficult to compete in these money first times. Anyway thats the end of my rant and i dont have a definitive answer on what direction the club could take, but this surely cant continue and something has to give. What a disasterous season!!! YNWA
