You all need to calm down. Just because we haven't been linked with anyone of true attacking quality doesn't mean Rafa doesn't intend to buy someone of that nature. It was obvious we needed attacking full-backs, two have been snatched up. I expect he'll get the first few, cheaper players he wants snapped up and then try to frantically trying to raise money for the rest of the summer so he can buy a quality attacker. Not ideal, but not a bad approach given our current situation. As for only having available what we gather by selling players plus a percentage of TV/ Season ticket revenue... Thats all we have EVERY year!

He's likely to be getting rid of two english players though in Pennant and Crouch, so I doubt it's due to any possible quota. More likely that players from europe have become more expensive due to the weakening of the pound and the risk involved with them adapting isn't worth the gamble as much.

Anyway, back to the Rangers fans... There was loads of them in Blackpool yesterday, seems like they're all over the northwest. One fella got his face on the tele this morning by paying £800 for a ticket, idiot!

I didn't see many actually being turned away at the gate. the problem was Arsenal let people in with forged tickets earlier on (according to the friendly police man). What the 40plus police stood twenty yards away was hard to figure out. They had about 8 police trying to sort out 2,000 people whilst the others watched. One steward even said "why did you all turn up 10minutes before the game?" Why would we want to get there any earlier?

There was a bad feeling in general in the lead up to Athens which was created by UEFA's stupid, selfish decision to host the final in Athens, in stadium built for Olympic track and field and then giving us a woeful amount of tickets... which were then woefully distributed by the ticket office. There was an increased number of hangers-on and pissed off people than there was in Istanbul which magnified the problem. All lead to the troubles that occured before the match, aswell as the VAST MINORITY of people who travelled to watch the match. Had anyone been seriously injured it would have been down to UEFA and the bog-standard ground rather than a few rowdy dick heads. After the game we spoke to a Greek lady who had said ALL the people that she had met throughout the week had been very friendly (and she wasn't even good looking) and that she wished we had won. That was before seeing the "Best Midfield in the World" conga, whilst the happy reds were still consuming alcohol and having a good time despite losing the biggest club game in the world. I think this backs up the point of it only being a small minority of fans that spoilt it (everyone has them, but we had more than most over there due to everyone wanting to get a feel of the Istanbul effect) and as there was no trouble AFTER the game it weakens the arguement that it was alcohol-induced behaviour as the conduct of fans would surely have been worse after the game. All in all, dickheads are dickheads. But the incompetence shown prior to the game ultimately caused the situation to escalate.

I doubt there's a big enough demand for them anymore, they've kind of went out of fashion. They were dead hard to get hold of when they first came out, sure someone will have one lying about if you want one.
