Everyone says 4-2-3-1 doesn't work against quality teams. Let's see. Beat Inter home and away with that system, beat Arsenal four odd years ago with the same system with inferior players all over really.
Meh, it ain't the system, it's just what happens on the day.
We need better wingers. Babel's fine, but he's way too raw at the moment, and can't really do much on the left without cutting in.
We need a couple of creative goal scoring wingers. Hard to find, but it's what we need. We've done best with a 4-2-3-1, or a 4-4-2 with Gerrard on the right because he can run free in that system as it's been shown time and again. Yeah he fucks up against Chelsea, United and Arsenal, but hell, if we can beat the other 16 teams in the League consistently it won't matter as much.
Mancini and Silva would be ideal for us. If Aurelio can stay fit we don't really need a left back as he's shown that when he plays consistently he can do a pretty good job.
