I've had it since it came out but my sister read it before me. She told me I should never read it as I, along with thousands of others, would be just too angry and upset by it. It's sitting right in front of me on my bookshelf right now, I've still never readi it, wonder if I ever will....

I never pay ay attention to these things coming out of spain, especially when it's just someone trying to get elected. What qualified Kenny to be the Manager? He was only a year or so older than Carra is now when he was appointed. Loads of people back then thought it was madness, that he wasn't ready, thay it would never work, but it worked out pretty well in the end didn't it. Yeah, ignore the whole of Kenny's time as manager, when we did the double and played the most exciting football in the history of the club....and concentrate on the last few months of his reign when, as he has admitted himself, he was under severe emotional strain. Yeha this led to some minor mis judgements but did't the team after or around the time of Kenny;s departure beat Derby 7-0 away? Talk about delusional...did anyone listen to the Merseyside Phone in on Monday night. I know 'Jacko' is fuckin awful and it usually does my head in but I was listening anyway. More than one of them called with the following monumental rationalization..."seeing as really there are now two leagues, the top four and the rest, its fair to say that Everton are currently top of thier league whilst Liverpool are bottom of thiers..." I kid you not! I thought they had spent most of the season saying there was no longer a top four cos they were up in the mix of it..they are fucked in the head.

I used to love that old programme shop as well, I think it was called the Northern Programme Center. That place would be packed and was all sweat and condensation. One of the blokes behind the counter was the spit of Mick Jones out of the Clash but older.

I think some people were missing my point, especially the poster who was depressed about an "our disaster is worse than yours thread" I was really trying to make a point about the attitude and reaction of mainstream media and institutions of football. I was more thinking about national conciousness than anything else.

Agreed. It was a one off peice of fun prompted by a group of non leaguers having the time of thier lives. As much as I get wound up by daytripppers without a clue...I am getting just as pissed off with "professional" Reds telling people what to do just to make themselves feel like big shots, bot are as sad as each other.

I have read a thread on another forum that had no pix, but the description matched those two exactly...so they may well be real. I actually like the red one, might buy me first shirt for about 6 or 7 years. The red one we have now seems to be liked by many, I think it;s the worst kit we have ever had...speaking of which, that green one is fuckin awful.

This squad may be the best we have had for a decade but that is missing the point. The Mancs, Chelsea and Arsenal have all improved thier squads as well over the last decade and done a better job than us at it.So what if we are better than we were in 98? Are we going to win this league in this season? Nope. So you might as well say we are better than we were in 1898 for all the fucking difference is makes.

Watching the Arsenal second string there tonight, you have to wonder how our reserves would do aginst them? No dis-resepect to our lads but you have to marvel at the strength of the Arsenal squad and the fact that even the 17 year old kids seemed totally tuned into an Arsenal style of play. Listening to the usually awful Merseyside phone in last night some bloke called in to say he was a regular reserve watcher and he wondered why none of our fringe 1st team squad players make regular appearences for the reserve team anymore. Good point I thought. Here we are waiting on Agger and giving Kewell an hour a game. Why arn't they given more reserve games? Also, why arn't the Voronin's of this world given more time in the reserves? Surely it would give players coming through from the youth team and players in the 1st team squad time to develop a difinitive LFC style...if we have one anymore with all the chopping and changing. Can any regular reserve team watchers tell me how they think our lads would get on against some of those Arsenal players? Our youth team looks good obviously but has the Reserve team become another sadly neglected element of the lub?

I hope the ones pictured are training tops cos they are fuckin ugly. Havn't bought any of the addidas kits so far. They are all terrible, they look cheap and gimmicky, I like our kits to be old school so it'll be another retro shirt for me.

Played against Rob Jones when I was about 14, he never stood out to be honest. I think Aiden Newhouse played in that game and looked like a mule, went on to play for Chester and Wimbledon.

In the second half today I counted at least 6 crosses that he failed to deliver. That's not counting corners or free kicks. Major let down so far, looks light weight and simply dosn't seem to have the stomache for English football. ALT all over again..
