  1. No idea of the source for this as it was a message from my arsenal supporting mate who said we might consider letting Jones go if we can get Lavia. That would seem very short sighted as I think he’s a very decent squad player with plenty of room to improve as he matures. Hopefully just bullshit.
  2. Would be better if they threw in a pension contribution and a bike to work scheme - that might tip it for me
  3. I refuse to learn how to spell his name until he leans on something at anfield
  4. Rice improves them considerably paying a high price for what you need when you are so close makes sense. We did it with Virgil and Alisson. the issue I see at arsenal is depth and if it’s true they are binning partey and xhaka does rice cover them both and still make them better? I’m not sure. If they get more than Rice the. Great if that’s all their eggs in one basket then not great.
  5. Also what’s the deal now he’s been exiled to Belarus? Has he taken all his mercenaries with him and therefore they won’t be fighting in Ukraine now? Or have they been moved under the army control.
  6. Let’s be fair some of them are murderers too.
  7. Good Whiskies and premium dark rums / brandies with a splash of water or single ice cube. Cheaper stuff is generally mixed with coke or ginger. Vodka and gin with tonic. Your aperol, pimms etc in the sun are great. as long as your not putting coke into wine drink how you like it.
  8. I think the theory put forward by the likes of Hancock is that a multiple meteorite fragments hit the polar ice caps / glaciers in North America. This sudden impact and heat from smaller debris vapourised massive parts of it causing flooding on an unimaginable scale as subsequent rains and melted ice came rushing through. This also changed the climates for decades on end. The waters caused many civilisations around the world who would have been based on coasts and rivers to have been wiped out and buried under the new sea levels creating common flood myths in surviving cultures (Noah’s ark for example). They do present some interesting geological evidence, some heavy “fill in the gaps” type stuff and use lots of myths from the past and similarities in various stories about vengeful gods / serpents in the sky (meteorites), floods, and gods coming from the sea post cataclysm to impart their wisdom such as farming and building (survivors from the apocalypse) to the more hunter gatherers inland. it’s not definitive, the theory is plausible to me and we know comets, meteorites etc have hit the earth in the past causing mass extinctions. Personally I think there were older civilisations we’ve forgotten at various about and our species is prob older than we think but ultimately does that change much? I’m not 100% sure it all happened 12,500 years ago like these guys state. If some of you don’t like Rogan, The Netflix series was entertaining in its own way. I don’t buy Hancock completely he seems to have an approach of “im just asking questions” but while presenting them as facts with cherry picked “experts” to back his claims.
  9. true just look up the “why does my dishwasher smell of spunk” thread or any of the Simon masterpieces.
  10. from memory I thought it was a really good save but then if barnsey is right and Dida did go the same way each time then yeah mental choice by Riise. kewell starting was crazy to me, I thought for sure Didi would start that game considering how good Kaka was. if that Milan team had gone on to win that game as comfortably as they won’t be first half I reckon they’d be talked up more as one of the best sides ever. The talent in that side was ridiculous.
  11. Think it was done to appease the super league teams. They will give certain leagues more CL spaces in this new tangled Swiss model format where everyone is in one big table rather than groups.
  12. Heads up is a great quiz game when you have a group of friends / family over. Seedship is also very good text based game, where you play an ai running a colony ship looking for a planet to start your new civilisation.
  13. Had my first Father’s Day and it was great, little one is 8 weeks old and we managed to get lunch at a local Vietnamese and a nice walk. Got some presents but mostly it was seeing the little one now smiling at us.
  14. It’s a great show, it really did take a while to kick off though. There’s still so much story left as they ended the show but the books continue on. Really felt the most realistic in terms of how we as a species would start exploring /exploiting each other. some intriguing politics, what I suppose is more realistic space combat and well rounded characters.
  15. Bradley Barcola sound like someone from jersey (the island) who pretends his uncles are in the mob
  16. I’ve avoided this thread for a long time as I wanted to avoid Picard season 3 spoilers. But then I couldn’t muster the energy to even start it considering how poor season 1 and 2 were. (Season 1 at least had an interesting concept to start). Finally got round to finishing it this morning and was pleasantly surprised it was actually pretty decent. Some obvious plot holes but that was a decent send off. looking forward to SNW so will wait for a couple of episodes to build up.
  17. What did they pay? 600m? Didn’t put a penny of their own money in, took out big salaries, expenses and dividends and get around 10 times that back. that’s a great return.
  18. Ah that’s good. The fuckers were starting to get uppity on the chats.
  19. Plenty of rumours the United deal to the Qatari lot is done. No source other than the United fans on my WhatsApp chats are saying it. another oil state to compete against.
  20. we had a pretty odd squad back then. I appreciate our team played narrower but we were crying out for width, pace and quality in both the full backs and on the wing. I remember biscan playing all over and I really think it stunted his development there was a very good player in there but we only saw flashes of it.
  21. Yep that was really good I didn’t get the hate for it at all
  22. I found mad men on a rewatch superb. So many little things I never picked up on. loved the American but ageee I doubt I will watch that again.
