    Surely the americans know that if they loose the lease the value of the club will drop substantially - and they will have no way of fixing the stadium issue in years after that. Their profit will then be marginal. They will get another very good reason to sell quickly if this develop further.

    We will loose by a goal to nil. Mascherano will be our best player closely followed by Carragher and Skrtel. Dirk and Yossi will be scapegoats. Keane and Torres will show a couple of good moves, but Keane will generally look out of sorts.

    I'm worried. Felt relief when we got extra time. At least we get some time if they score.

    I agree 100 per cent. I would also like to add that I don't think Keane is suited to play wide. If he is to be great he needs to stay just behind Torres and develop an understanding. But Gerrard himself seems to be caught up in the common mentality that he is a central midfielder and its an insult to play him anywhere else. However, Rafa pick the team, but maybe, just maybe, is he reluctant to cross his captain?

    I think so too. He was linked with Liverpool before he signed for Fulham, though it seemed like there was no real interest.

    Only seen last 10 minutes on a crappy sopcast-link, but this game looks more like a league game than a pre-season friendly.

    As already pointed out by several posters: we have our strongest squad for years but still a few question marks - both full backs being the obvious ones. For me this has been the position where we have been furthest behind United, Chelsea and United in quality. I also think that our lack of abilty to attack from the back line has been our main weakness. A weakness that United has exposed with great sucess the last few years (better than any other team). With Agger back this will improve, but with only one "playing" defender, teams like United will cope easily like they've done the last few years. They put pressure on him and then Carra or, say, Degen will have to start the attack. I am not sure whether Rafa plans to play with two attacking full backs in every game, I think Aurelio and Arbeloa (espescially) will get a few games as well. However I hope, especially, Dossena will prove that he is an attacking full back, both in the sense of going forward and being able to make a crisp or clever first attacking pass. If we sign Barry, in addition to get a very good midfielder and superb set-piece taker, we will get a cover for Dossena/Aurelio if they can't deliver the goods at left back. I also agree with what's been said about the forwards. I am optimistic and hope we can be in the mix for the title come May.
