Yes Roy, same set of players. Torres was right about one thing...if we had made the right appointment at the beginning of the season, things would have been very different this season.

Great film by Peter Weir, based on the book 'The Long Walk'. Been looking forward to this film for a while and it did not disappoint. Based on true events in which a group of prisoners escape a Siberian gulag and walk 4000 miles across Russia, Mongolia, China to reach India....essentially an extraordinary tale of human endurance. Beautifully shot, with great performances from Harris and Sturgess. 9-10

I love being rich, love it, thankyou John Henry

I think the Financial Fair Play Rules also have a major bearing. Starting June 1st we won't be able to spend the Torres money without accounting for it and covering the cost from club revenues. It's possibly a use it by the end of this window or lose it situation. -

Suprised no one has gone in for Lacina Traore. -
The oscar-winning composer of so many classic film scores from Midnight Cowboy to Dances with Wolves, and of course the man behind the James Bond theme. A giant in film music. RIP John Barry OBE

Haha fuck off sky, what an interview from the king
Kobayashi Maru replied to mht1892's topic in FF - Football Forum
Treated with the contempt Burton deserved, with his arrogant approach to the interview. Well in Kenny. Would love Kenny up against Barclay, Gray, The hairy Sky ape, Bluto etc. -
Good point, can't argue with that tbf. The hottest planet yet, where a year constitutes just over 29 hours.

Just to add my 2 pence, those picts are what we are seeing 13.5 billion light years ago....a light year speed being 6 trillion miles. What we see of Betelgeuse in the sky is from 25 years ago, in contrast to our own sun of 8 mins (from watching 'The Universe' - The History channel, at the moment). We're completely insignificant, irrelevant and just plain rubbish.

Superb thread. Bump again.

A bit of a classic British WW2/War film fest. The Sea Wolves - Greg Peck, D Niven, R Moore et al.....highly enjoyable classic hokum based on a true story of the British Calcutta Light Horse infantry's attack against a German ship transmitting intel to U-Boats during WW2. 8-10 The Wild Geese - Burton, Moore, Harris - brilliant. 8.7-10 Where Eagles Dare - One of my all time favorite films on WW2. Anything with Burton and Eastwood is going to be special. Brilliant score by Ron Goodwin. 9-10 The GUns of Navarone - Superb. 8.9-10 Escape to Athena - Highly enjoyable 7.5-10 North Sea Hijack - Weakest of the group but has Moore so 6.8-10 North West Frontier - Great film, with Herbert Lom absolutely superb in his role as Van Layden. Fantastic cinematography. 8.5-10

Time to throw Pacheco and Suso in
Kobayashi Maru replied to LFC 6 Times's topic in FF - Football Forum
Wouldn't mind pitching Suso in to see how he does, if we're winning comfortably with 10-15 mins to spare. The situation will afford him the confidence to play his game and take any pressure off a debut. Allow us to assess whether he is ready by slowly bringing him in. Pacheco needs minutes on the pitch to develop and would like to see him on the bench at a minimum now. At a critical stage in his career to determine whether he has what it takes to make it or not.- 80 replies

Finding clubs who are stupid enough to take the Poulsens, and the rest of our turgid shite will be a challenge. Easy enough to say 'get rid', but as we saw with Intandje and a few others...getting rid is not going to be easy, especially with the wages they will be on.

Excellent and equally worrying article on Lockheed Martin and its growing power base and influence across all facets of Government. Parallels with the mega-corp OCP in Robocop? is-lockheed-martin-shadowing-you

January 2011 Transfer Window Speculation Thread
Kobayashi Maru replied to StevieH's topic in FF - Football Forum
What type of wages would Young be on at the moment?......reason I ask is I get the impression the immediate priority from an operational point of view is the reduction of the clubs wage bill by a significant margin. Young would probably command high wages. I'd assume that Sanchez and Suarez would be on a significant lower wage structure so might fit the policy. -
Striking for the right to beat people to death
Kobayashi Maru replied to Lurtz's topic in GF - General Forum
Thread had 'train wreck' written all over it from op, has transformed into a seriously enlightening and educational piece, thanks to TSO and BatChain. Fascinating read but also seriously worrying. A country seriously let down and pillaged for too long by its leaders across all stratas of society and government for self interest, and now seeing the fruition of this. An unraveling Pakistan will have serious repercussions not just for the region but globally imo.- 79 replies

Tor-Kristian Karlsen is a highly respected scout and known to be very reliable. The story is probably accurate, if he has confirmed it.

Plenty to give Roy stick over, in how he has handled himself to date, but to throw invectives at him for something written by someone else is a bit strong. The article in question is a hatchet job imo with a lame attempt at deflection and admonishment by the author. No evidence or intimation that Roy has a hand in it.
