  1. Deserved. Poor mentality, no urgency for most of the game with an unacceptable casual approach with a man advantage. At no time did we look to take advantage of the spare man and stretch the play with a high tempo. If it was a tactical decision than really have to question Rodgers decision making and approach, considering he did seem to harp on about 'courage', last season. This performance has become endemic.
  2. Escape Plan - 8/10. Enjoyable fare, including the interplay between Stallone and Schwarzenegger.
  3. Job done, in cruise control. 2nd half performance drop off still seems to inflict us with periods of sloppy play. Certainly not 'death by football' and hopefully its addressed soon. Far more clinical this season and the defence looks solid with Sakho improving by the game. The return of a number of players from Injury will hopefully improve things further. Interesting to see Allen in this formation.
  4. Intensity has dropped from us. Now would be a good time to bring Aspas and Alberto on to add fresh impetus and energy.
  5. Not particularly convincing, but an efficient performance with 3 goals and more importantly 3 points, away from home. Can't really complain with that. Not long ago, we would have struggled to get any result with that type of performance, espcially on the road. Not creating as many chances as last season, with the level of intensity and passing. Hopefully, we can rediscover that and maintain the added steel.
  6. Rush - 9 / 10 Superb, poignant and engaging film. Perfectly paced and the acting is truly brilliant. Quite possibly one of the finest films of the year, for me.
  7. As far as deep play making or box to box midfielders go, I would'nt be averse to Inter and Croatia's Mateo Kovacic. Super player and reminds me of Gerrard in his pomp. Add Konoplyanka or Muriel and we'll really be motoring.
  8. Agger for me has been a liability against set pieces for far too long. Never convinced me. I've rarely seen him attack the ball or space. Infact, I'd say he is a consumate ball watcher or just happy to get into a shirt tugging match with a set marker.
  9. The fact we can't hold the ball for any length of time, let alone retrieve it once we've lost it is the biggest worry for me. Nothing to do with bench strength, playing 4 centre backs etc. Man for man, we have far more quality in the playing XI than most of the teams we have played. Yet, today we were outplayed and the same can be said against other teams we have played at various times this season.
  10. A team void of any organisation and ideas. Defensively we're all at sea and continue to chase shadows. When in possession, we only seem to have a single gear and the opposition force the pressure consistently. The tactics and tempo from the 2nd half of last season seems to have changed or dropped. We rarely have maintained any semblence of consistency. The fact we're still prepared to risk tinkering with tactics and the team selection rather than keeping it safe, probably does not help. Gerrard looked heavy legged, maybe from the internationals and Capital Cup. Hopefully, it is a wake up call. Though at this stage of the season we really should'nt need it.
  11. Coutinho is carving them up at will. His eye for a pass is really something to behold. If we get Willian in, we could seriously do some real damage to teams. Lucas looks to me looks very sharp. However, still look physically light in midfield and at the back. A dominant and imposing centre half has to be a must. Aspas looks good to me. A real nuisance for the opposition defence. Once he gets to speed properly he really could be a great player. The team as a whole look sharp.
  12. Slightly worried about the height difference of the teams, considering what is expected from Stokes tactics. Was an issue for us last season, so not sure its been addressed as Toure and Agger as a unit are not particularly strong in the air. Hopefully, we have a plan to nullify this disadvantage.
  13. Wonder when Platini will pipe up to admonish French teams for 'excessive spending' and ruining the game.
  14. Fast and Furious 6 Really enjoyed that. Excellent popcorn farce with over the top action. A thumbs up from me and does not look like the franchise is dying anytime soon. 8/10
  15. Not so sure about Eriksen. An area where we have adequate cover in Gerrard, Coutinho, and Suso. His development has stagnated a bit and would rather target a Adam Maher who could be considerably cheaper but equally a top talent. My wishlist options would be: Begovic (if Pepe leaves) Alderweireld / Diakite (Bosman) / Sakho / De Vrij Wanyama / Tonny Vilhena Andriy Yarmolenko / Christian Benteke
  16. If we want a 'big man' option, I'd rather we target someone like Christian Benteke. Don't think we can afford to take a risk on Andy, as next season will be critical and will have to play to the percentages and a greater certainty of what works, from the get go. Maybe offer Villa a straight swap.
  17. Pain and Gain - Brilliant. Really enjoyed it. Some really good laugh out loud moments and probably Bay's best film in a long time. 8.5/10
  18. Oblivion - 6/10 Plods along with not much happening through much of the film. Expected more from a Tom Cruise film.
  19. Got on to this from the recommendations on this thread. Ridiculously awesome and addictive. Nice end to the season, underlined by Jude's Madonna. Season 2 can't come soon enough.
  20. Olympus Has Fallen - Implausible plot of North Koreans taking over the White House and holding the President hostage offset by stellar cast and high ocatane action makes for a highly decent watch. Concept along similar lines to Die Hard, Under Siege 1/2, Airforce One, Salt etc. 8-10
  21. The Hobbit - Magnificent. Much leaner than the LOTR's films, and would probably say the cinematography is maybe not quite on the same level. Left me wondering how they were going to extend the source material into 3 films. 9/10
  22. Happy Diwali today and Sal Mubarak (New Year) tomorrow to all. The Hindu calendar is based on the lunar and solar cycle and began at the same time as the Mayan Mesoamerican long count. This year is also seen as the start of the era of the 'Golden Age', based on the Lunar calendar. Bringing hope for changes to start.
