  1. Yeah it's exactly that, although Tory voters, and the wider electorate, do seem less receptive to this stuff (at least for the time being, anyway).
  2. Yep agree with all that. Looks pretty good with his head, too.
  3. Sunak has tasked Dougie Smith with "weaponising" trans rights before the next election, apparently. Interesting to see how that goes, because even Tories don't give a fuck about it according to some focus grouping that came out recently.
  4. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/dec/13/us-scientists-confirm-major-breakthrough-in-nuclear-fusion Absolutely guaranteed that the second we've properly cracked clean and sustainable energy, we'll use the exact same technology to blow each other up.
  5. Seems to me he's just straight up turned into one himself.
  6. Looking back, Sven was quite overrated. His success at Lazio was as much down to the club spending obscene amounts of money as it was anything else. I think it's fair to say a better manager would probably have got more out of those England squads.
  7. The Wonder - a nurse and a journalist investigate claims that a girl in a devout Catholic community has survived for months without food. Good story, and well acted. 8.5/10.
  8. Yeah, I mean it's kind of obvious. The service is as bad as it is due to chronic under-funding and stagnant wages. If you don't fix that, it won't improve. And where does he think these 7,500 new doctors - who won't be ready for another 10 years - are going to go if wages are still poor when they're qualified?
  9. Yeah something like that, wasn't it? Always enjoyed his posts back in the day.
  10. Quality bio: They don't make 'em like they used to.
  11. This seems the crux of it, to me. If you want a functioning NHS you need to retain the people who make it what it is, and to do that you need to pay them properly.
  12. Remember when Newsnight portrayed him as Voldermort? Good times.
  13. “I’m certainly not frightened to take on vested interests. And I’m not afraid to tell the BMA or other unions ‘no’ – and I think people respect that honesty.” Who are the vested interests? The unions?
  14. Jota's fitness is a real concern at this point. Hopefully the other two don't follow suit but as you say it's not exactly trending in the right direction.
  15. I think the key difference is Zuck or Bezos don't give a fuck what people are saying about them online, and this terminally online, thin-skinned headcase absolutely does.
  16. He seems to have spent $44b to 'own the libs'.
  17. It's a fair point. I can think of a few "late" bloomers over the years: Pires, Zidane, Vieira, Pirlo, Henry, Djemba-Djemba. But it doesn't really that seem relevant when Bellingham has already been bossing it at Dortmund for a couple of seasons.
  18. Handily. As would any ranked lightweight (except for maybe Ferguson). His game's a total mess unless the fight's on the ground. Amazing performance from Topuria, though. I was kinda leaning toward Mitchell before the fight, but Topuria just completely dismantled him. Really impressive. And yeah Till's done, isn't he? No idea how many fights he's got left on his contract but wouldn't be at all surprised to see him released.
  19. You have to hand it to him, it was a moment of real comedy.
  20. I dunno, they looked pretty shit to me. I'd probably back the Argies against them.
