  1. If we had a proper striker, he'd have 40 goals a session in this team. This guy won't get half that. Played well tonight, mind.
  2. Good recovery from Saturday
  3. Much better than anything else we have in midfield
  4. Dalian Atkinson (various) Paul Warhurst (Sheff Wed) Makanakay (Cameroon) Ian Ormeroyd (Villa) Mark Falco (QPR) Lars Elstrup (Denmark) Jesper Olsen (Mancs) Clayton Blackmore (Mancs) Ricky Holden (Oldham) Tony Meola (USA) Daniel Huckerby (Coventry) Steve Stone (Nottm Forest)
  5. I remember the days of Rafa and Ged. At 2-0 it would be over. At any stage of the tie. However, this manager is different. We probably won't go into a game thinking how are we going to score which happened far too often with the aforementioned. I'm not sure which I prefer but they are both extremes like Ying and Yang, and neither are good enough to maintain success. Hopefully Klopp can win is a cup because that's about our level now.
  6. I think Redknapp makes a valid point though. They've cut the clip out of where Matip doesn't want any of it.
  7. His agent sent an email on his behalf.
  8. Maybe he genuinely thinks there are no decent players? Have a look around the top clubs? If Coutinho is deemed the best player to trace Neymar by Barcelona, then that tells you the current poor standardsin world football. 50 mil for Kyle Walker is another example.
  9. No chance he leaves - one of the reasons a big club needs a big manager with balls With Klopp, we don't need Henry to step in like he did to save Brendan over Suarez Not that he would for £120mil, like
  10. I'm really not that bothered by it. Just wanted to know if you had anything to back it up.
  11. Well if it isn't 100mil profit what is it? 20 mil? If so, that means they have running costs of negative 80 mil Hardly a likely story.
  12. The win has nothing to do with the money you make. It's the rush of the moment, as you alluded to. It's the same for drugs and alcohol. Your brain becomes obsessed with the apparent need for cortisol and adrenaline. It doesn't take notice of time, meaning the money you've earned or saved (past) and where you may end up (future) doesn't come into it. Memories are funny things. They are experiences which combine emotional charges with sensory based evidence. They then re-presented themselves brought the emotional charge. The are not recalled, as such; more reconstructed. You can't really tell what's real and what isn't and your 'instinct' is to keep trying to recreate that experience by doing what your senses picked up on: where you were, what you saw, what you did, etc It's why we often forget about the negative stuff that happened in a relationship for example, and become obsessed again with the 'joy' that was created, even of it was just that one time. This is becoming even more serious now with online gaming and pornography. The psychologist, David Greenfield, had done some great work on this. http://virtual-addiction.com
  13. Every club has at least 100mil because of the TV deal. Bournemouth got £123mil for the season that just ended.
  14. Hahahaha that's brilliant. Who are the teams?
  15. I consult for a gambling charity. It's always about a big win that they get before becoming addicted. That experience creates an emotion attachment to the memory of winning and your brain looks to recreate that experience whenever it possibly can. Studies in neuroscience now show that it's chemically addictive in the same way as alcohol or drugs, and... Wait for it... Social media!
  16. I reckon we need to be a part of the conversation first.
  17. This is such a Meh signing for them, even Conte isn't arsed. He's an upgrade on Carrick but doesn't free up Pogba at all. Fellaini, Herrera and Carrick all freed up Pogba, and he was still Carlton Palmer for most of the season.
  18. Amazing how Goalkeeper doesn't been get a mention these days. Go on the Mig!
  19. Many fans mocked that transfer fee but he was an awesome player at a very young age. The fact he proved it at Leeds was enough for Ferguson (who'd been closely watching him for 6 years) to sanction it. I'd liken Van Dijk more to Sol Campbell at Spurs. Not so much because of the (lack of) transfer fee but more because he went from a mid table club, with no honours, and became a rock for the best team in England and one of the best in history.
