  1. I'll make my mind up on that if there's a further announcement in January for people who went to aways but don't qualify under the criteria the club put forward.
  2. I posted my correspondence on the ticket thread. The most up-to-date correspondence was the mails below but my last email was ignored. I manage a customer service team for a living and I'd be embarrassed with both the lack of responsiveness and the fact that they basically told me that because most people who had travelled away already qualified for tickets they didn't bother putting it as a criteria and thought that would be ok. So in short they knew they were screwing people over and decided to just fuck them off anyway. If the club was a normal business everyone would fuck it off. Response Via Email (Thomas Wilson) 13/12/2011 06.15 PM Dear Alan Thanks for contacting Liverpool Football Club In answer to your original question, The club took in to consideration those who have travelled to the previous away games and found most of those supporters who have travelled this season are already on the Auto Cup Scheme or are members. Should any tickets be remaining after the sale for Season Ticket Holders, a further announcement will be made. Thanks for your continued support Kind Regards Thomas Wilson Customer Experience Team My response to this mail was this: Dear Thomas, While 'most' supporters may have been in either of these fields clearly not all were and the club obviously decided to simply discard the loyalty of people like me. I know from being on fan forums that I am not the only person affected and I would expect the club to at least consider the effect of the ticketing arrangements in advance. The question I would ask is that if the number of people in my situation is so low then what would it take to amend the arrangements to account for the 'few' that have been overlooked? Are the club so inflexible that they would rather continue with something that is wrong rather than just correct it? If the club's stance remains unaltered then I will be doing the only thing I can do and with-hold my custom for the FA Cup games this season which until now I had been planning on going to. There's not much point in going to the Oldham / Southend game when the ground is half empty and then being reliant on the club doing the right thing later down the line if we get to the later stages. Unfortunately, when it comes to ticketing the club has consistently proved over the years that it gets it wrong time and time again. Yours Sincerely, Alan
  3. Just seen that Oldham badge. That's a club made for Roy Hodgson if the Baggies give him the elbow. Probably a similar level to the leagues where all his success has been too.
  4. Probably worth adding my other thoughts that I'll be jibbing the FA Cup off this season. I had planned on going to all of them on the basis that even what should be dull games in the earlier rounds will mean you can get you tickets for those later in the competition. As the club obviously doesn't work this way I see no point in spending my money filling one of the empty seats against Southend or Oldham just for the club to stick two fingers up at me if we get through to the later stages. I'm sure some foreign station will have it on in one of the pubs somewhere anyway so might as well save some of my money post-Christmas.
  5. My correspondence with the club is below as I finally got a response to a web form I'd filled in today. Fired one to Ian Ayre too that was ignored. Pretty awful all round really. Me: Customer By Web Form 07/12/2011 03.38 PM Why were supporters who traveled away from home in the Carling Cup ignored in the ticket allocations for the home tie with Manchester City? I travelled to Stoke and Chelsea with a mate of mine and now won't be at this game which will potentially affect us should we get to Wembley due to the way the club have allocated tickets. I understand the requirement to go to league games for most of the allocation but surely people who have paid out expense and taken time off work to go to the earlier rounds should take precedence for this competition. I feel very let down by the club in the allocation that has been announced. The club: Response Via Email 13/12/2011 02.40 PM Dear Alan Thank you for contacting Liverpool Football Club All feed back and comments are appreciated by the club and forwarded to the correct department. Please use the following link for selling details and frequently asked questions Latest Ticket News - Liverpool FC Season Ticket Holder’s had priority in the summer when we offered the chance to sign up for the auto cup scheme, those that did are guaranteed a ticket for all home game, if they didn't, we could not guarantee that they would be able to purchase tickets. This was clearly outlined in the renewal booklet, online and via e-mail to those supporters who have an e-mail address registered with us. Also in summer, we clearly outlined that any tickets that remained after the Season Ticket Holders Auto Cup Scheme sign up period would be made available to members to purchase, this is the stage we are at now. Should any tickets remain after this period then those Season Ticket holders who did not join the Auto Cup Scheme will have priority to purchase on a first come first serve basis whilst stocks last. Thanks for your continued support Kind Regards Carol Customer Experience Team Me Dear Carol, My question was around why the supporters who have been to previous rounds have not been given priority over fans who have not as is usually the case with cup competitions. I understand the club has angered many people by taking the approach it has done with the arrangements for this match but my query was slightly different than just questioning the rights of Season Ticket Holders. As a result, the standard response sent to me does not answer my question at all. Can you please respond directly to my question of why the club chose to ignore the fans who have travelled to earlier rounds in the competition? Kind Regards, Alan
  6. I used to argue the same before I had a season ticket. Reality is you can go to most games if you aren't a season ticket holder anyway. What should be rewarded when big games come around is the people who spend the most money and dedicate the most time to going to matches rather than those who just pick and choose. I've been to most home league games this season and have travelled away in the Carling Cup too. There is no fairness whatsoever that the club is rewarding people who've been to much less than I have and not taken days off work to travel down to London or Stoke or to Brighton or Exeter which I couldn't make. I know it will be the same if we make it to Wembley too. The fact they've decided to implement a policy like that only goes to prove what everyone knows already. The club really doesn't give a shit about the people who spend the most time committing to it.
  7. I was just saying the same thing to my mate. They've made a big assumption about who qualifies which means they've screwed over a lot of people who've made the effort to travel around the country. We won't even qualify for one ticket between us off the shared season ticket unless others don't take up the tickets first.
  8. Have to say I'm fuming that the club has not taken into account fans who've traveled away in the competition for this. I share a season ticket with my mate so my home games generally aren't on the fancard and I'm not going to qualify despite going to Stoke and Chelsea. Still it's nice to know that everyone who couldn't arsed with the travel or didn't give a shit about the competition can now show up for the big games.

  10. Gutted to hear this news. He's a proper 100%er who has developed into a brilliant defensive midfielder. I think before we jump into signing players that Jay Spearing deserves his chance. He was outstanding at times last season and he should be given another proper run.
  11. Stupid idea based on greed as others have said. Can't see it happening but with every step that's taken into making football a game of corporate greed (and there've already been far too many) I fall out of love with the game that little bit more. I'm 30 years old and I remember standing on the crush barriers in the Kop with my uncle when I was 6 years old and the game now is totally unrecognisable to what it was then. I hate to think what it will be like by the time I'm 60 (if all the drinking and womanising doesn't finish me off before I get there).
  12. City at home on the Sunday and then Chelsea away on the Tuesday. Ridiculous scheduling that.
  13. We had a good trip down and got through a good number of beers for a short trip. It was just the old trick used of binning them on the motorway before we got there. The kids at the back were singing Munich and Harold Shipman songs as per usual but it was much more tame than I've experienced on some of the trips in the past.
  14. Thanks for all the info everyone. At least I should be able to have a few on the night. I know the bus will have some cunts on there but looking forward to the trip as it's been a long time since I travelled on one of these.
  15. I'm sure there must be a thread on these somewhere but couldn't find it in the search. I'm going to Stoke next week with Barnes Travel and it was mentioned to me when I bought the ticket that no alcohol is allowed. Before anyone starts with the RIP YNWAs I've travelled with them before so I know what to expect but it was many years ago now. Is this alcohol ban enforced or is it just one of these things they throw at you because they have to? I don't go to many away games these days and I'm travelling with them so I can have a bevy because the train times are no good so won't be impressed if it's a sober trip!
  16. We need to press them as that's what gets results against them. If we play open, passive football we'll be ripped apart so we need to play the players who will harrass them in possession. I'd go with: Reina Johnson Carra Skrtel Enrique Spearing Lucas Kuyt Gerrard Bellamy Suarez That team wouldn't give them a second on the ball and has goals in it.
  17. I texted my dad at half time against Trabzonspor and said if his tactical ideas involve letting mediocre teams play keep ball at Anfield while we passively watch we are in for a horrible season. I wasn't wrong. The thing that annoys me most is that after the derby I had a big bet on him to be gone by New Year's Day. The odds were 3/1 at that stage and I lumped on big time hoping to cover some of the my season ticket expenses I'd paid for games like Blackpool and later on Wolves but the cunt held out for an extra week.
  18. Every single thing about our club is better than it was 12 months ago and I fucking love it. Having said that it doesn't mean that because we escaped oblivion we should be delighted when we sign players that aren't good enough. We're in a rebuilding process that will take time so people jumping the gun now are knobheads but if we keep comparing to that point in our history it could be used as an excuse for mediocrity for a very long time.
  19. I'd do Tim Cahill's celebration but with him stood in front of me rather than the corner flag.
  20. In all seriousness when he received that ball he looked petrified and hesitant about taking it on and only did after realising it was his only option. I think there is something there in him as a player but think that he drastically needs to improve his confidence as he looks like he thinks he's out of his depth. Once he starts to believe a bit more we may have a good player there.
  21. Sad thing is for all of the years of re-building our reputation and standing in Europe we'd have been in pot 2 if we were in this year. By next year if we are back after a year out altogether we might even be lower than that.
  22. Disappointed to see such a promising youngster go. Should have been given more time
  23. He's their David Moores. Someone respected for years by the fans just because he supported the club but who is absolutely fucking clueless and is hauling them back single handedly. The more this pressure from their fans builds the more likely it is they'll be bought by parasites like we were and they are in a much worse off position than we were when ours arrived. At some point in the next five years I reckon we'll see them in the Championship.
  24. Italia 90 was my first. Lots of memories but Cameroon made the tournament for me and favourite moment was Oman Biyik scoring the winner against Argentina.
