The NHS is the greatest gift a country has ever been given, FACT! And it isn't free, tax and NI pay for it, it just makes sure nobody is left behind, and if we had more faith in it, it would be top class care for all! Instead, we let those at the top end of the pay scale find loopholes to avoid tax and NI, hence money stays in their pockets, and out of the NHS. Oversimplified maybe, but it ain't far from the truth!

Did they give any indication as to the likely diagnosis mate? Fibrocystic Change, Fibroadenosis, Cyclical Mastalgia? As for the 6 month thing, it does seem mad, but one thing to consider, if they think there is a good chance (or for that matter even a slight chance) of it being a malignant lump, the NHS usually use the 2 week rule for breast clinic referrals! So if they are going to leave a mammogram for 6 months, it may be worth thinking of this as a good sign!! If they thought there was a chance of malignancy, and they still decided to leave it 6 months, they are taking the piss, take her back to her GP, and demand an urgent breast consultant referral (mention the 2 week rule possibly?). Hope it turns out ok mate - Best Wishes to you and Mrs BGB!!
