  1. I'm giving serious thought to trying to move to Canada within the next 5 years. I don't really have any of the skills required to move there though so not sure if I should re-train for something or what. Also, don't you only get something like 2 or 3 weeks holiday a year in Canada?
  2. No legs, I'd say yes. No arms, I'd have to give it a miss. That would shit me up too much.
  3. I've never seen Jericho, it's a post-apocalpytic type programme isn't it? I think I've read on here it was cancelled fairly early in it's run and I'm always wary of shows like that as they never seem to give a proper ending.
  4. Wouldn't bother me any more than listening to John Lennon or watching Heath Ledger as the Joker.
  5. Dunno, he was in a few episodes of Entourage I remember. I'd definitely give Band of brothers another go soon.
  6. No he isn't it. It's got Damien Lewis in it, which reminds me, have you see band of brothers?
  7. Sons of Anarchy - Biker gang, like the Hell's angels, Outlaws etc.. but a smaller club. President of the club is Clay Morrow played by Ron Perlman who wants the club to get into increasingly nefarious activity such as running guns and the vice president, Jax, who is his son in law, is all for making the club more legit. So trouble within the club and at various points with the IRA, other biker gangs, white supremacists, police, gang bangers etc... abound. It's not as good as The Wire, Sopranos or The Shield, but what it? It's still top class entertainment and highly recommended by me. Breaking Bad - The story of Walter White, a chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with terminal cancer. He has little money to leave to his wife, new born kid and an older child with cerebral palsy. So he decides to use his chemistry skills to sell crystal meth. As you do. This is more of a slow burner to start off with and not as easily accessible as the above in my opinion. However, it is most certainly one of the greatest TV shows ever made. You will love it. Boardwalk Empire - Set in prohibition era America, it's about how Nucky Thompson changed Atlantic City from a no-mark town into one of the biggest outlets for booze on the East coast. It's basically a gangster series, with names like Al Capone and Lucky Luciano starting out as small time gangsters in it and starting to rise as the series progresses. It was created by Terence Winter who was a writer on The Sopranos. Again it's excellent, first two series are good but the last season was top notch. After them three there some good ones which are enjoyable, though not up to the standards of The Wire et al. Dexter and Homeland are enjoyable. If you fancy comedy It's always Sunny in Philadelphia and Parks and Recreation are both brilliant. Then there is Game Of Thrones and Battlestar Gallactica, which I know you said you aren't that into but they are both well worth a watch, and in the case of Battlestar Gallactica is worthy of the being spoken about with the the top 3. Don't be fooled by it's space setting.
  8. Started Carrie yesterday, halfway through it now then straight onto Salem's lot.
  9. I actually DO have 2 invites for IPtorrents. The last 2 I had went to 2 lurkers on here, one of them was a member for 7 years with no posts but PM'd me for an invite. Leg. I'll happily send these two to anyone who is a lurker or isn't a cunt.
  10. I put this in the MF beofre I saw this, anyway http://www.liverpoolway.co.uk/forum/gf-general-forum/93094-am-i-evil.html
  11. Unbelievable. Not sure in a good or bad way.
  12. 15 episode 2nd series been confirmed.
  13. I think Bill from the MF might be my new favourite serial killer now. Well, once he kills Turdseye anyway. Also, it can't be stated enough how much of a cunt Jon Snow was. If you are reading this Jon, I hope you get cracked open like a coconut. You cunt.
  14. Live by night, Dennis Lehane. Great book by Lehane as usual, sort of a follow up to The Given Day, as it focuses on the younger brother of the Coughlin family. It's the story of his rise from a low level Boston thug to one of the biggest gangsters in the country. Set during prohibition, it starts off in Boston, has a good couple of chapters set in a prison and then moves to Florida for the rest of the book. Really enjoyed this. 8.50/10. Dark Harvest, Norman Partridge. Again another really enjoyable book, won the Bram Stoker award in 2006. Set in a small American town in the early 60's where the townfolk aren't allowed to leave, but every Halloween the October Boy, basically a re-animated scarecrow with a pumpkin head armed with a cleaver, tries to make his way though the middle of the town to the church in the centre. All the males aged between 16-19 are starved for 5 days and let loose to try and catch him armed with baseball bats, clubs, knives etc... and the winner gets a car, money and the chance to leave the town and start a new life. It's quite a short book at around 165 pages and can be got quite cheap on Amazon second hand, definitely worth a look. 8/10.
  15. Thanks both, I'm definitely looking to get out of Toronto for 2-3 days, I went to Niagara falls last time, so I'd like to do Vancouver or Montreal this time. NP, after that superb post I am almost ashamed to admit I'm a veggie! Sorry, I know that'll disgust you. I don't think the camping is a go as the wife certainly won't go for it and I'll probably spend half my time there going shopping! Also, what's the score with the LCBO stores? Why can't you buy ale in supermarkets or convenience stores like over here? Pain in the arse last time, the nearest one was about 2 miles away from where I was staying. They did sell 2 pint cans of Paulaner though, so it was worth the trip. I like the idea of getting the train to another city, some of the views will be pretty good I'd imagine?
