  1. Genk won 1-0, scoring in the 93rd minute of what the watching journalists seem to agree was a dreadful game.
  2. UEFA Youth League vs. Genk, 2 p.m., Kirkby, (no TV, no spectators) :- Ojrzynski; Williams, Norris, van den Berg, Boyes, Clarkson, Dixon-Bonner, Longstaff, Elliott, Larouci, Brewster (c). Subs: Winterbottom, Savage, Koumetio, Clayton, Morton, Hill, Cain. Points to Curtis Jones being involved tonight, you would think. Also implies that the first-choice defenders are playing, if Williams and van den Berg are not needed.

  4. Your apocalypse essentials: Comfort food, Michael Kiwanuka, Adidas trainers, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia and tunes that are just fucking ace...
  5. It’s Mike Dean in the technical area, Paul Tierney on the VAR https://www.premierleague.com/news/1482650
  6. Whatever helps him get enough money together so he can buy Southampton is fine with me. Apart from getting a pay rise from us, obviously, that ship has sailed.
  7. So in the second half, Djurgården brought on former Academy legend Astrit Ajdarevic, who inspired them to a 2-2 draw and the point they needed to win the league. ATK will be so pleased (shurely shome mishtake?)
  8. Top, top Talksport analysis, Dave. And right about Fabinho, of course.
  9. This afternoon, Liverpool and Everton met at Kirkby in the reserve derby; it finished 2-1 to us, with Herbie Kane netting a late winner after Dennis Adeniran cancelled out Tony Gallacher's early opening strike. Team :- Apparently it clashed with something else though.
  10. Midweek update... Rhys Williams : Had to be subbed off at the end of the first half for Kidderminster Harriers after a high boot gave him a broken nose in their game with Darlington; to add insult to (literal) injury, while he was down injured, play continued and Darlington scored the only goal of the game. At least he didn't have to watch van den Berg play his position (badly) in a first-team cup game, though. Liam Millar : Came off the bench for Kilmarnock in their 2-1 loss at Motherwell, but wasn't able to contribute much to a team that had been down to ten men since early in the first half. Sheyi Ojo : Got the full 90 minutes for Rangers away to Ross County. Should have scored early on, but scuffed his chance against the post; made up for it with a powerful run and cross for Morelos to open the scoring not long afterwards, and started the move that ended with Morelos adding his second and Rangers fourth. Marko Grujic : Played the full game in the German cup as Hertha struggled to a 3-3 draw after extra time with Dynamo Dresden. More importantly, Grujic scored the winner in the penalty shootout, about an hour after Curtis Jones did the same thing. It's contagious.
  11. Also an incentive to NOT draw the 3rd round FA Cup game, and NOT get kidnapped by Barbary Corsairs on the way back from the UAE.
  12. He ought to have been used in the box at set-pieces, he’s a better header of the ball than Gomez or van den Berg.
  13. Among other questions, how do you quantify the performance of a goalie who concedes five but wins a shootout?
